(hydrophilic)material,yournewlensesaredesignedtogiveyoucomfortandeasyhandling.
WewelcomeyoutotheCoopervision,Inc.scheduledreplacementprogram.Remember,tobe
successfulyoudoneedtolistentoandcontinuetovisityoureyecareprovider.
Therefore,pleasereadon.
Cleanlinessisanimportantaspectofcontactlenscare.
Beforehandlingyourlenses,alwayswashandrinseyourhandsthoroughlyanddrythemwithalint‐free
towel.Donotusesoaps,lotions,coldcreamsandperfumeswhichleavearesidueonyourhands.Avoid
usingmedications,creams,deodorants,make‐up,after‐shavelotions,orsimilaritemspriortotouching
yourlenses.Whenhairsprayisused,theeyesmustbekeptcloseduntilthesprayhassettled.Takecare
inhandlingyourlenses.Alwaysavoidtouchingyourlenseswithyourfingernailsorothersharpobjects.
Softcontactlenses,includingCoopervision,Inc.contactlenses,aremadeofatypeofplasticthat
absorbsliquidsandvapors.Assuch,theymaycollectbothextraneousandnaturallyoccurringdeposits.
Therefore,ifthelensneedstoberemovedbeforetheprescribedwearingtimehaselapsed,youmust
followthesectionsinthisbookletentitled,“LensCareLensHandling”aswellasthewritteninstructions
ontherecommendedcareproducts.Damagedlensescanleadtoseriouseyeinfectionsanddiscomfort.
Ifanyproblemsdooccur,removeyourlensesandvisityoureyecarepractitioner.
Yourlensesweredesignedtoprovidecomfortablevision.Propercareandadherencetoinstructions
shouldensurethatyoufeelgoodandseeclearly.
INDICATIONS:
DailyWear:Coopervision,Inc.polymaconcontactlensesareindicatedforthecorrectionofvisualacuity
innon‐aphakicpersonswithnondiseasedeyesthataremyopicorhyperopicandmayexhibit
astigmatismof1.50dioptersorlessthatdoesnotinterferewithvisualacuity.
ExtendedWear:Coopervision,Inc.polymaconcontactlensesareindicatedforthecorrectionofvisual
acuityinnon‐aphakicpersonswithnondiseasedeyesthataremyopicorhyperopicandmayexhibit
astigmatismof1.50dioptersorlessthatdoesnotinterferewithvisualacuity.
Thelensmaybeprescribedforeitherdailywearorforextendedwearfrom1to7daysbetween
removalsforcleaninganddisinfectionintheScheduledReplacementProgram(seethe“WARNINGS”
sectionswithreferencetotherelationshipbetweenthelenswearingscheduleandcorneal
complications).

WARNINGS
Priortopurchasingcontactlenses,youshoulddiscussfullywithyourpractitionertheeffectofcontact
lensesonyoureyes,andallrisksassociatedwithcontactlenswear,inadditiontoreceivingathorough
eyeexamination.
Whilethegreatmajorityofpeoplesuccessfullywearcontactlenseswithoutproblems,asmall
percentageofwearershaveexperiencesadverseeffectswithcontactlenswearandusageoflenscare
solutions,resultinginseriouseyeproblemssuchasinfections,ulcers,andotherdamagetothecornea
(thefrontlayeroftheeye).Insomecases,theseproblemscanleadtoseriouseyeinjuryandlossof
vision,particularlyifpromptandeffectivemedicaltreatmentisnotobtained.Additionally,smoking
increasestheriskofulcerativekeratitisforcontactlensusers.
Contactlensesinascheduledreplacementprogramshouldberegularlyremovedontheschedule
prescribedbyyoureyecarepractitioner.Theriskofulcerativekeratitishasbeenshowntobegreater
amongusersofextendedwearlensesthanamongusersfordailywearlenses.Theriskamongextended
wearlensusersincreasewiththenumberofconsecutivedaysthatthelensesarewornbetween
removals,beginningwiththefirstovernightuse.Asaresult,eyecarepractitionershavedifferingviews
concerningthemaximumwearingtimeoflenses.Someeyecarepractitionersdonotprescribe
extendedwearatall,whileothersprescribeflexiblewearingtimesofoccasionalovernightwearandstill
othersprescribewearingtimesform1to7days/6nightsforcertainpatients.
Manypractitionersareprescribingspecifiedintervalsofnolenswearforovernightorlongerbetween
wearingperiods,inordertoallowtheeyesto“rest”andreceivemoreoxygen.Somepractitioners
recommendscheduledreplacementflenses.Otherpractitionersmayprescribedisposablecontactlens
wear,wherelensesaredisposedofateachremoval.ThisbookletisfortheCoopervision,Inc.polymacon
scheduledreplacementprogram,inwhich,practitionersprescribewearingtime,follow‐upvisitand
replacementschedulesforyou.Therefore,besuretodiscusstheseimportanttopicswithyour
practitioneratyourinitialvisitandateachfollow‐upvisits.
Tominimizetherisksofcontactlenswear,itisessentialthatyoufollowyoureyecarepractitioner’s
directionsandallinstructionsinthisbookletforpropercareandhandlingofourlenses,useofsolutions
andotherlenscareproducts,wearingrestrictionsandschedule,lensreplacementandcheck‐upvisits.
Ifaproblemshouldoccur,youmayrequireimmediatemedicalattentionbecausesomeeyeproblems,
suchasinfectionsandcornealulcers,candeveloprapidlyandunexpectedlyleadtolossofvision.
Promptprofessionalattentiontotheseproblemsisessential.Ifyouhaveanypain,eyediscomfort,
tearing,sensitivitytolight,visionchanges,rednessoftheeyeoranyothersymptomorunusualfeeling
inyoureye,followthestepsinthe“AdverseEffects”section.

Ifanyoftheabovesymptomsoccur:
‐Immediatelyremoveyourlenses
‐Ifthediscomfortorproblemstops,thenlookcloselyatthelens
‐Ifthelensisinanywaydamaged,discardthelensandreplaceitwithanewlensfromits
container,asdirectedbyyoureyecarepractitioner.
‐Iftheabovesymptomscontinueremovalofthelensoruponinsertionofanewlens,thelens
shouldberemovedimmediatelyandyoushouldimmediatelycontacteyecarepractitionerora
physician,whowilldeterminetheneedforexamination,treatmentorreferralwithoutdelay.
Problemswithcontactlensesmayleadtoamedicalemergency,becauseaseriouscondition,suchas
infection,cornealulcer,neovascularization(smallbloodvesselsgrowinginthecornea),oriritis
(inflammationintheeye)maybepresent,andmayprogressrapidlyandleadtolossifvisionunless
treatedpromptly.Whenyougofortreatment,bringyourlenses,lenscase,andcareproducts.The
doctormaywanttoexamine,test,oranalyzetheseitemstohelpinyourtreatment.Ifyoureyecare
practitionerorphysicianisnotavailable,gotonearestemergencyroom.
ChemicalinEyes
Ifchemicalsofanykind(householdproducts,gardeningsolutions,orlaboratorychemicals)aresplashed
ontotheeyes,dothefollowing:
‐Immediatelyremoveyourlensesandflushyoureyeswithwater
‐Ifunabletoremovelenses,immediatelyflushyoureyeswithwater
‐Seekimmediatemedicaltreatment

PRECAUTIONSANDWEARINGRESTRICTIONS
Thesafewearofcontactlensesrequiresyoutoobservecertainprecautionsandwearingrestrictions
designedtoreducethepossibilityofproblemsandeyeinjuries.Youreyecarepractitionermayprescribe
additionalprecautionsandrestrictionsforyoutofollow,andyoushouldaskyoureyecarepractitioner
toexplainanythingthatyoudonotunderstand.
A. Atyourinitialvisittoyoureyecarepractitioner:
‐Besurethatyoureadandunderstandthefull
‐Giveyoureyecarepractitioneracompletehistoryofyoureyehealth,includinganyeyeinjuries,
diseases,conditions,orotherproblemsyouhavehadwithyoureyes,eveniftheyseem
unimportanttoyou.
‐Also,tellsyoureyecarepractitioneraboutyourgeneralhealth:anymedicinesyouaretaking;
currenttreatmentbyaphysician;anydiseasesyouhadornowhave;andanypriorsurgery.
‐Beforeleavingyoureyecarepractitioner’soffice,makesurethatyouareabletoplaceand
promptlyremoveyourlenses.
B. LensHandling:
‐InascheduledReplacementProgram,contactlensesareintendedtobedisposedofattheend
oftheprescribedperiod(e.g.:1week,2weeks,1month,1year).Therefore,itisimportantto
alwayshaveapairofreplacementlensesavailable.
‐Intheeventthatalensmustberemovedfromyoureyebecauseofdust,aforeignbodyorother
contaminantgetsonthelensorthelensbecomedehydrated(dry),thelensshouldberemoved,
cleanedanddisinfectedintherecommendedmanner.Refertothesectionofthisbooklet
entitled“LensCare”.
‐Ifthelensbecomesdehydrated,whichmayoccurifthelensisdislodgedfromyoureyewhile
sleeping,discardthelens.
‐Donottouchyoureyesorcontactlensesuntilafteryouhavewashedandrinsedyourhands
thoroughly.Failuretowashyourhandsbeforehandlingmayresultineyeinfections.
‐Donotallowanycosmetics,lotion,soaps,creamsordeodorantstocomeincontactwithlenses,
whichalsocancauseeyeinfectionsorirritations.
‐Donottouchthelenseswithyourfingernail,whichcancausecontaminationordamageofthe
lens.Ifalensbecomesnickedortorn,donotwearit,becausedamagedlensescancauseinjury.
‐Beforeplacinglensesinyoureyes,examinethelensestoassuretheyaremoist,clean,clear,and
freeofanynicksortears.
‐Donotplaceadryorbrittlelensonyoureye.
‐Donotusesaliva,tapwater,distilledwateroranythingotherthanarecommendedsterile
solutionlabeledforthecareofyoursoftlenses.
‐Donotusetweezersorothertoolstoremoveyourlensfromthelenspackage.Pourthelens
intoyourhand.

‐Softcontactlensesoccasionallyfoldintheeyeanddonotremainonthecornea(frontportion).
Thisisnocauseforalarm.Althoughthecontactlenscanneverbelostbehindtheeye.Itmay
becomelodgedundertheeyelidswithoutirritation(usuallytheupperlid).Inthiscase,thelens
shouldbelocatedandremovedbyyourself,orifyoucannotfindit,byyoureyecarepractitioner
immediately.
‐Ifyouaredailywearschedule,donotsleepwiththelenseson.Ifyouforget,however,checkto
see,immediatelyuponawakening,ifthelenseswillmoveontheeyes.Iftheydonotmove
readily,donotattempttoremovethem.Placeseveraldropsofarecommendedlubricatingor
rewettingsolutionintheeyesandtrymovingthemagain.Ifafterseveralapplicationsof
solutionthelensesstilldonotmove,contactyoureyecarepractitionerimmediately.
C. WearingRestrictions:
‐Alwayskeepapairofreplacementlenseswithyouwhenyouwearyourlenses,incaseyouhave
toremovethelensesimmediatelyupontheappearanceofaproblemorsymptom.
‐Alwayskeepyourrecommendedlenscareproductswithyoutohaveavailableifandwhenyou
havetocleananddisinfectyourlenses.
‐Donotuseaerosolproducts,suchashairspray,whilewearingyourlenses.Thelensesmay
absorbthespray,resultingininjurytotheeyeanddamagetothelens.
‐Avoidwearingthelensesaroundfumes,irritatingvapors,orsmokyordustyconditions.Thelens
mayabsorbthechemicalsorparticles,resultingininjurytotheeye.
‐Avoidrubbingyoureyeswiththelensesin,whichcanirritatetheeyeordislodgethelens.
‐Keepyoureyesclosedtightlywhenwashingorshoweringtokeepwaterandsoapsoutofthe
eyes,whichcancauselossofthelenses,contaminationorinjurytotheeye.
‐Donotwearyourlenseswhileinahottuborsteamroomorwhileswimming.
‐Ifyougetsomethinginyoureye,removethelensimmediatelyanddisposeofthelens.Donot
replacethelenswithareplacementlensuntilyoureyefeelsnormal
‐Tellyouremployerthatyouwearcontactlenses.Somejobsmayrequireuseofeyeprotection
equipmentorthatyounotwearcontactlenses.
‐Tellyourregularphysicianandeveryotherdoctorthatyouvisitthatyouwearcontactlenses
andthetypeoflensesthatyouwear.Ifyouareadmittedtoahospital,alsotellyournursesthat
youwearcontactlenses.
‐Donotuseanyeyedrops,ointmentsormedicineinyoureyeunlesstheyarespecifically
approvedbyyoureyecarepractitionerorphysician.Somedrops,ointmentsormedicineswill
causeinjurytotheeyeifusedbyacontactlenswearer.
D. OnCheck‐UpVisitsToYourEyeCarePractitioner:
‐Whenyoureturnforcheck‐upvisits,besuretotellyoureyecarepractitionerifyoureyeshave
feltdry,irritatedoranythingotherthancompletelycomfortablewhilewearingyourcontact
lenses.

‐Ithereisanyquestioninyourmindaboutwearingscheduleandrestrictions,lenshandling
procedures,lensreplacementprogram,theconditionofyourlenses,yourfollow‐upvisit
schedule,cleaninganddisinfectionproceduresoranythingelseaboutcontactlenswear,besure
todiscussthesubjectwithyoureyecarepractitioner,whoistheretohelpyouuseyourcontact
lensessafelyandproperly.
‐Ifyoureyecarepractitionerputsdyeordropsduringtheexamination,askwhenyoumayre‐
insertyourcleanedanddisinfectedlenses.Theuseofmostdyesordropswillrequireawaiting
periodbeforelensesmaybere‐inserted.
LENSCARE
TheProceduresinthisbookletarerecommendedforthecareofCoopervision,Inc.polymaconcontact
lensesforScheduleReplacementWear.Additionally,contactlenscareproductsareprovidedwith
instructionsandwarningsforitsuse,whichmustreadandfollowed.
Yourcontactlenseswearingscheduleisprescribedbytheeyecarepractitioner.Attheendofthe
prescribedwearingtime,eachlensistoberemovedcleanedanddisinfectedintherecommended
mannerpriortore‐insertion.
A. BasicPrecautionsforCleaningandDisinfecting
‐Washandrinseyourhandsbeforehandlingyourcontactlenses.
‐Donotusehardcontactlenssolutionsnotindicatedforusewithsoftlensesinanycaresystem
forsoftcontactlenses.Seriousinjurytotheeyecanresultfromwearingasoftcontactlensthat
hadbeensoakedinahardcontactlenssolution.
‐Coopervision,Inc.recommendsthatyouusethelenscaresystemrecommendedbyyoureye
carepractitioner,eitherheat(thermal)orchemical(noheat).Chemicalincludeshydrogen
peroxidesolutionsspecificallyindicatedforusewithsoft(hydrophilic)lenses.Unlessspecifically
indicatedinthelabeling,donotalternate,mixorchangelenscaresystemsforthesamepairof
lenses.Changingormixingthetwosystemscandamagethelensesandinjureyoureyes.
Changingormixingthetwosystemscandamagethelensesandinjureyoureyes.Usethe
solutionsandothercareproductspecificallyrecommendedbyyoureyecarepractitioner.
LensCareProducts
Theeyecarepractitionershouldrecommendacaresystemthatisappropriateforthesecontactlenses.
Eachlenscareproductcontainsspecificdirectionsforuseandimportantsafetyinformation,which
shouldbereadandcarefullyfollowed.

LENSHANDLING
RewettingYourLenses
Softcontactlenswearersmayoccasionallyexperienceperiodsofslightdiscomfortorblurredvision
causedbywearinglensesthathavebeenpartiallydehydrated.Lenswearersonanextendedwear
schedulemayuponawakeningexperienceeyesecretionsorhazyvision.Theseconditionscanusuallybe
remediedbysuingarewettingdrop.Youcanapplyrewettingsolutionswhilethelensesareontheeye.
Justplaceonedropofrewettingsolutiononeachlensandblink2to3times.Use3‐4timesdailyoras
needed.
CAUTION:Anythingotherthanaveryslightsymptomthatgoesawaywithinafewminutesmayindicate
aproblem,andtheneedforimmediatemedicalattention,asstatedintheWARNINGSSection.Besure
tofollowthestepsprovidedinthesectionentitled,“AdverseEffects”.
GeneralTips
‐Handsmustbewashed,rinsedthoroughlyanddriedwithalintfreetowelbeforehandlingthe
lenses.
‐Cosmetics,lotions,soapsandcreamsmustnotsomeincontactwiththelensessinceeye
irritationorinfectionmayresult.Donotuseaerosolorpumpproducts,suchashairspray,while
lensesarebeingwornsinceliquidsandvaporsmaydamagethelens.
THEPACKAGING
Yournewcontactlensesareindividuallypackagedinasterilesalinesolution.Theuniquetamper‐evident
mini‐vialsaremadefromrecyclableglassandtheblisterpackcontainersaremadeofplastic.Inorderto
helpourenvironmentpleaserecycleallusedmini‐vialswithotherglassproducts.
Toremovethefreshlensfromthemini‐vial,graspthepolishedaluminumtabandpullstraightbackand
down.Removethebrokenring.Removetherubber‐likestopper.ShakethevialandpourthefluidAND
thelensintoyourcleanedpalmofyourhand.Toremovethefreshlensfromablisterpack,peelthe
aluminumfoilback.Removethelensfromtheplastictubbypouringthelensintoyourcleanedpalmof
yourhand.
Afteryouremovethelensfromthecontainer:
1. Examinetobesurethatitismoist,clean,clearandfreeofanynicksoftears.
2. Makesurethelensisnotturnedinsideout.Simplyinspectthelenstoseeiftheedgesturnout.
Iftheydo,thelensisinsideout.Shouldyouaccidentlyplaceaninside‐outlendonyoureye,one
ofthefollowingsignsshouldsignalyoutoremoveitandreplaceitcorrectly:
‐Lessthanusualcomfort
‐Thelensmayfoldontheeye
‐Excessivelensmovementblink
‐Blurredvision

Ifthelensfoldsandstickstogether:Placethelensinthepalmofyourhandandwetthoroughlywith
arecommendedrinsingorstoringsolution.ThenGENTLYrubthelensbetweenyourindexfinger
andpalminagentlebackandforthmotion.Ifthisgentlerubbingdoesnotwork,disposeofthelens
andreplaceitwithareplacementlens.
PLACINGYOURLENSESONYOUREYE
1. Toavoidthepossibilityoflensmix‐ups,alwaysstartwiththesamelens.
2. Beforeinsertingthelens,rinsewellwithfreshrecommendedrinsingsolution.Thenplaceiton
thetipoftheindexfingerofyourdominanthand.
3. Whilepositionedonyourindexfinger,checktoensurethelenshasnotturnedinsideout.To
checkthis,lookattheprofileofthelensagainstalightbackground.Iftheedgeprofileappears
convexandbowl‐shaped,thenitiscorrect.Ifthelensisinverted,itwillflareoutattheedge.If
thelensisinverted,simplyreverseitbyusinglightfingertippressure.Besuretoavoiddamaging
thelenswithyourfingernails.
4. Lookstraightaheadandraisetheupperlidwithyourotherindexfinger
5. Whilelookingdown,andkeepingbotheyesopen,placethelensontheupperwhitepartofthe
eye
6. Slowlyreleasetheupperlidandgentlycloseyoureye
7. Thelensshouldcenterautomatically,oritcanbemovedoncenterbygentlefingertippressure
throughthelids.
8. Repeattheaboveprocedureforthesecondlens.
9. Ifalensappearstobestuckonyoureye,applyoneortwodropsofarecommendedlubricating
solutiontotheeyeandblinkafewtimes.Ifthelensdoesnotmovefreelyonyoureye,contact
youreyecarepractitionerforfurtherinstructions.Thereisnosingle“rightway”ofputtingon
lenses.Ifyoufindthismethodoflensplacementdifficult,youreyecarepractitionerwillsuggest
anothermethodorprovideadditionalinstruction.
REMOVINGYOURLENSES
Preparation:
1. Washandrinsehandsthoroughly.
2. Dryhandswithalint‐freetowel.
3. Checkthatlensiscenteredonthecorneabeforeattemptingtoremovethelens.Checkyour
visionbycoveringoneeye.Ifvisionisblurry,thelensmaybeoff‐center.Re‐centerthelens
beforeattemptingtoremoveit.
Removal:
1. Alwaysbeginwiththesameeye.
2. Lookupandkeepbotheyesopen.

3. Usingthemiddlefingerofyourdominanthand,gentlypulldownthelowerlidofthefirsteye.
Usingthetipofyourindexfingerofthesamehand,touchthelensandslideitontothewhiteof
theeye.
4. Gently“pinch”thelensbetweentheindexfingerandthethumbandremove.
5. Repeattheprocedureforthesecondeye.
6. Ifthelenscannotbeeasilymoved,applyafewdropsofalubricatingsolutiontotheeye,blinka
fewtimes,andwhenthelensmovesfreelyontheeye,removeinamannerdescribedabove.If
thelensstillcannotbeeasilymoved,contactyoureyecarepractitionerforfurtherinstruction.
IMPORTANT:Alwaysavoidtouchingyourlenseswithyourfinger‐nails.Useonlyyourfingertips.Ifyou
findthismethodofremovaldifficult,youreyecarepractitionerwillsuggestanothermethodofprovide
additionalinstruction.
MOREIMPORTANTINFORMATION
Contactlensesaremedicaldevicesandmustalwaysbetreatedwithyourgreatrespect.
Certainsymptomsmaybeearlyindicatorsofpotentiallyseriousproblems.Acarefulexaminationofyour
lens,andprofessionalexaminationofyoureyes,mayberequired.Removethelensfollowingthe
instructionsoutlinesinthisguide,andcallyoureyecarepractitionerif:
‐Youreyebecomesredand/orfeelsirritatedor“gritty”.
‐Younoticeachangeinyourvisionorseerainbowsorhalosaroundobjects.
‐Youexperiencediscomfortand/orsensitivitytolights.Agoodgeneralpolicyis:“IFINDOUBT,
TAKETHELENSOUT!”andimmediatelycontactyoureyecarepractitioner.
LearnandUseProperLensCareHabits
‐Followinstructions.
