Congratulaons – You are the owner of the second generaon of
ToughPIX digital camera designed and cered specically for use in
hazardous (explosive) atmospheres.
ToughPIX II is cered ATEX/IECEx as follows:
- Ex d IIB+H2 T6 Gb / II2G Gb T6
Please ensure that the cercaon matches or exceeds the
hazardous area characteriscs that will be clearly displayed on site.
Whilst in a hazardous area, do not aempt to change baeries or download images,
these tasks should only be undertaken aer returning to a safe area.

OVERVIEW
The SLR style ToughPIX II incorporates a 16 Megapixel sensor with 16GB memory
and High Denion video capability. Close up and wide area photography is
simple with crisp and clear images using the built-in macro feature, an-shake
technology, 3x opcal and 4x digital zoom.
Package Contents
1. Check the contents of your ToughPIX II. The shipping case should include the
following items:

BATTERY CHARGING
The baery is charged using the docking staon supplied (See Page 6).
•Open the baery compartment of the camera and remove the retaining plug.
• Remove the baery from the baery compartment of the camera.
• Plug in the charging unit to a mains circuit and plug the jack from the charging
unit into the docking staon.
• Insert the baery into the baery charging compartment on the docking staon.
• The charging light on the charging unit will ash green to show that the baery
in charging.
• When the baery is fully charged the charging unit light will stop
ashing and will show constant green.
• Remove the baery from the charging compartment
• Insert the baery pack into the camera paying careful aenon to the
orientaon of the pack
• Insert the retaining plug and ensure that this is ghtly secured.
GETTING STARTED
Turning the Power On/O
Use the power buon on the top of the camera to turn the camera on and o. If there is
insucient baery power a red icon will appear on the display and the camera will auto-
macally power o aer a few seconds. Press the shuer buon to take a photo.
Mode Selecon
ToughPIX II has three operang modes, Camera Video and Playback .
Camera mode is the default from Power On and pressing the MODE buon will toggle
between Camera and Video mode. Press the Playback buon to review photos and
videos.
Baery charging must only be carried out in a safe area using the docking/charging
staon supplied. Never open the baery compartment or aempt to download data
within a hazardous environment.

TAKING PICTURES
Opcal Zoom
You can magnify your subject up to 3 mes using the opcal zoom by pressing the Tand
W buons to zoom in and out.
Digital Zoom
You can magnify your subject up to 4 mes further using the digital zoom by pressing the
T and W buons to zoom in and out. An icon in the display will show whether you are
using opcal or digital zoom.
Flash
In low light condions it is recommended to use the built-in ash. Use the ash/right
buon to toggle through the four ash modes:
Force ash
Auto AUTO
Red eye reducon
No ash
Scene
Scene is selected using the le buon and toggles through several seng opons: Auto,
Night Portrait, Night Scenery, Portrait, Scenery, Beach, Sport, High Sensivity
Self-mer
Self mer is selected using the down buon to toggle through 4 self-mer opons: 2 sec,
5 sec, 10 sec or O

Delete
Press the up buon to delete the last photo or video captured. A “Delete This Image”
conrmaon message will appear in the display, use the le/right buons to choose yes
to delete the image or no to cancel the delete
Image Size
To set the image size, press MENU and use the right/le buon to select the MP icon.
The image size menu will appear in the display and the up/down buons will select the
required image size.
An-Shake
This funcon prevents blurring of the photo as a result of hand shake. It is accessed
through the MENU buon and using the right/le buon to select the Hand icon.
Macro
The macro or close-up funcon enables clear photos to be taken within a distance of
15cm to 45cm from the subject. Press the MENU buon and use the right/le buon to
select the macro icon The macro menu will appear in the display and the up/down
buon will toggle the macro and distance funcon on and o.
Setup
You can adjust the many camera setup opons by pressing the MENU buon and using
the right/le buon to select the TOOL icon. The setup menu on the display enables
adjustment of: Exposure, ISO, White Balance, Sharpness, Quality, Digital Zoom, Date, Beep
Sound, Auto Power O, Language, Frequency, Format, Default Seng.
TAKING VIDEOS
Press the MODE buon to select video mode Press and release the shuer buon
to start recording. The elapsed me will appear on the top right of the display and the
recording icon will ash. Press the shuer buon again to stop the recording and save the
le in AVI format. Use the playback mode to view your recording.

DOWNLOADING FILES
Photo and video le can only be downloaded using the docking/charging staon supplied.
These les may then be transferred to any PC with a USB connecon
•Connect one end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer
• Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB terminal on the docking
staon
• Remove the baery pack from the camera (see page 8) and gently place the
camera onto the Data Communicaon Interface on the docking staon
Windows Users
• From the Windows desktop, double click on My Computer.
• Look for a new ‘removable disk’ icon. This ‘removable disk’ is actually the
memory (or memory card) in your camera. (Typically, the camera will be
assigned drive leer ‘e’ or higher)
• Double click on the removable disk and locate the DCIM folder.
• Double click on the DCIM folder to open it to nd more folders. Your
recorded images and video clips will be inside these folders.
• Copy & Paste or Drag-N-Drop image and video les to a folder on your
computer.
Mac Users
• Double-click the ‘untled’ or ‘unlabeled’ disk drive icon on your desktop.
iPhoto may automacally launch
CorDEX CONNECT™
CorDEX CONNECT™ is a reporng and analysis soware package that can be downloaded
at no charge from our website www.cordexinstruments.com. It is compable with all our
products that output data or images through a USB
connecon.
