Congratulaons – You are the owner of the second generaon of
ToughPIX digital camera designed and cered specically for use in
hazardous (explosive) atmospheres.
ToughPIX II is cered ATEX/IECEx as follows:
- Ex d IIB+H2 T6 Gb / II2G Gb T6
Please ensure that the cercaon matches or exceeds the
hazardous area characteriscs that will be clearly displayed on site.
Whilst in a hazardous area, do not aempt to change baeries or download images,
these tasks should only be undertaken aer returning to a safe area.

OVERVIEW
The SLR style ToughPIX II incorporates a 16 Megapixel sensor with 16GB memory
and High Denion video capability. Close up and wide area photography is
simple with crisp and clear images using the built-in macro feature, an-shake
technology, 3x opcal and 4x digital zoom.
Package Contents
1. Check the contents of your ToughPIX II. The shipping case should include the
following items:

BATTERY CHARGING
The baery is charged using the docking staon supplied (See Page 6).
•Open the baery compartment of the camera and remove the retaining plug.
• Remove the baery from the baery compartment of the camera.
• Plug in the charging unit to a mains circuit and plug the jack from the charging
unit into the docking staon.
• Insert the baery into the baery charging compartment on the docking staon.
• The charging light on the charging unit will ash green to show that the baery
in charging.
• When the baery is fully charged the charging unit light will stop
ashing and will show constant green.
• Remove the baery from the charging compartment
• Insert the baery pack into the camera paying careful aenon to the
orientaon of the pack
• Insert the retaining plug and ensure that this is ghtly secured.
GETTING STARTED
Turning the Power On/O
Use the power buon on the top of the camera to turn the camera on and o. If there is
insucient baery power a red icon will appear on the display and the camera will auto-
macally power o aer a few seconds. Press the shuer buon to take a photo.
Mode Selecon
ToughPIX II has three operang modes, Camera Video and Playback .
Camera mode is the default from Power On and pressing the MODE buon will toggle
between Camera and Video mode. Press the Playback buon to review photos and
videos.
Baery charging must only be carried out in a safe area using the docking/charging
staon supplied. Never open the baery compartment or aempt to download data
within a hazardous environment.

TAKING PICTURES
Opcal Zoom
You can magnify your subject up to 3 mes using the opcal zoom by pressing the Tand
W buons to zoom in and out.
Digital Zoom
You can magnify your subject up to 4 mes further using the digital zoom by pressing the
T and W buons to zoom in and out. An icon in the display will show whether you are
using opcal or digital zoom.
Flash
In low light condions it is recommended to use the built-in ash. Use the ash/right
buon to toggle through the four ash modes:
Force ash
Auto AUTO
Red eye reducon
No ash
Scene
Scene is selected using the le buon and toggles through several seng opons: Auto,
Night Portrait, Night Scenery, Portrait, Scenery, Beach, Sport, High Sensivity
Self-mer
Self mer is selected using the down buon to toggle through 4 self-mer opons: 2 sec,
5 sec, 10 sec or O

Delete
Press the up buon to delete the last photo or video captured. A “Delete This Image”
conrmaon message will appear in the display, use the le/right buons to choose yes
to delete the image or no to cancel the delete
Image Size
To set the image size, press MENU and use the right/le buon to select the MP icon.
The image size menu will appear in the display and the up/down buons will select the
required image size.
An-Shake
This funcon prevents blurring of the photo as a result of hand shake. It is accessed
through the MENU buon and using the right/le buon to select the Hand icon.
Macro
The macro or close-up funcon enables clear photos to be taken within a distance of
15cm to 45cm from the subject. Press the MENU buon and use the right/le buon to
select the macro icon The macro menu will appear in the display and the up/down
buon will toggle the macro and distance funcon on and o.
Setup
You can adjust the many camera setup opons by pressing the MENU buon and using
the right/le buon to select the TOOL icon. The setup menu on the display enables
adjustment of: Exposure, ISO, White Balance, Sharpness, Quality, Digital Zoom, Date, Beep
Sound, Auto Power O, Language, Frequency, Format, Default Seng.
TAKING VIDEOS
Press the MODE buon to select video mode Press and release the shuer buon
to start recording. The elapsed me will appear on the top right of the display and the
recording icon will ash. Press the shuer buon again to stop the recording and save the
le in AVI format. Use the playback mode to view your recording.

DOWNLOADING FILES
Photo and video le can only be downloaded using the docking/charging staon supplied.
These les may then be transferred to any PC with a USB connecon
•Connect one end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer
• Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB terminal on the docking
staon
• Remove the baery pack from the camera (see page 8) and gently place the
camera onto the Data Communicaon Interface on the docking staon
Windows Users
• From the Windows desktop, double click on My Computer.
• Look for a new ‘removable disk’ icon. This ‘removable disk’ is actually the
memory (or memory card) in your camera. (Typically, the camera will be
assigned drive leer ‘e’ or higher)
• Double click on the removable disk and locate the DCIM folder.
• Double click on the DCIM folder to open it to nd more folders. Your
recorded images and video clips will be inside these folders.
• Copy & Paste or Drag-N-Drop image and video les to a folder on your
computer.
Mac Users
• Double-click the ‘untled’ or ‘unlabeled’ disk drive icon on your desktop.
iPhoto may automacally launch
CorDEX CONNECT™
CorDEX CONNECT™ is a reporng and analysis soware package that can be downloaded
at no charge from our website www.cordexinstruments.com. It is compable with all our
products that output data or images through a USB
connecon.
