The Corinex Wireless to Powerline Router G provides a
convenient and secure way of distributing broadband Internet
access without the need for new wires. It connects computers and
equipment by utilizing existing electrical wiring and wireless media.
Multiple users can share one broadband connection for high speed
applications such as shared Internet access, file and printer sharing,
on-line games, streaming audio and video, security systems and
more. The Corinex Wireless to Powerline Router G with its
built-in firewall and enhanced security features is easily installed
and configured from any JavaScript enabled web browser.
The Corinex Wireless to Powerline Router G enables shared
Internet access by assigning local IP addresses to devices
connected on the LAN side and translating these local addresses to
external IP addresses on the Internet service provider’s side. This
process is called Network Address Translation (NAT). The Router
also has a built-in firewall, which controls the access from the
Internet to the LAN and thereby protects your equipment from
intrusion and malicious programs from the Internet.
The Corinex Wireless to Powerline Router G is a cornerstone
product for building secure Local Area Networks distributing
broadband Internet signals to wherever needed. It supports
different types of connectivity, which allow you to select the best
or most convenient access method in any situation. The Corinex
Wireless to Powerline Router G has four interface types:
• WAN (Ethernet), for connection to your broadband Internet
service provider;
• LAN (Ethernet), for connection to stationary equipment in your
local network using standard network cables;
• Powerline (HomePlug 1.0), for connection to stationary
equipment in your local network using existing electrical wiring;
• WLAN 802.11g, for connection of wireless devices in your local
network.
In the small example network depicted below, the Corinex
Wireless to Powerline Router G is connected to a broadband
Internet modem, a stationary computer over Ethernet, a desktop
computer over Powerline using a Corinex Powerline Ethernet Wall
Mount, and a laptop with wireless capability. The network can
easily be expanded when needed. More computers or equipment
can be connected to the network, either using Ethernet,
Powerline or Wireless medium.
Multiplexing, OFDM) technology, which allows the data signals to
“surf” on the electrical wires, instantly shifting between carriers as
noise and attenuation conditions change. The HomePlug 1.0
standard supports data rates up to 14 Mbps.
Corinex Powerline products use existing AC electrical wiring as a
physical medium for broadband networking based on the
HomePlug 1.0 standard. Robust performance is ensured by the
multi-carrier modulation (Orthogonal Frequency Division
The Corinex Wireless to Powerline Router G allows devices with
wireless capability to connect to the LAN as any wired device.
The Corinex Wireless to Powerline Router G uses the Wireless
LAN standard IEEE 802.11g (up to 54 Mbps throughput), which is
backwards compatible with IEEE 802.11b (up to 11 Mbps), for
wireless communication. The Corinex Wireless to Powerline
Router G supports security features preventing unauthorized
access and eavesdropping on the Wireless LAN interface.
