CAUTION !!! The installation of this device must be performed only by personnel professionally qualied,
in compliance with national and local regulations, as well as with instructions in this manual.
Read these instructions carefully before installation.
The Cosmobit device is a modulating room thermostat that communicates with the boiler via a data bus. This communication
allows the boiler to continuously adjust the ow temperature (sliding temperature), in order to accurately satisfy the room
setpoint set on the thermostat. In this way, the thermostat requires to the boiler the heating power strictly necessary to
satisfy the room temperature, optimizing gas consumption. Data communication also allows the display in the thermostat of
any errors present in the boiler itself. When Cosmobit is connected to the internet, it is possible to activate the weekly timer
thermostat function, capable of program the heating with a resolution of 10 minutes. Programming can be performed via
browser, smartphone or tablet. At any time it is possible to change the setting of the room temperature, simply by rotating
the command dial of Cosmobit.
Cosmobit does not regulate the temperature of domestic hot water.

1 - THERMOSTAT INSTALLATION
1.1 Determine the correct position where to install the thermostat.
Respect the rules of the images below:

• On Mydens and Q30 boilers the two wires will be connected on the terminal board to the TA terminals.
• On caldaie Novadens, Cielodens, Inkadens, Topdens, the two wires will be connected on the terminal board to the OT.
Install the OT card beforehand, supplied with Cosmobit as shown in the pictures below:
• Open the boiler electrical box“A”
• Install the board “B” with the screws “C”
• Connect the supplied wires to the “B” board, to the “D” terminal
• The two wires coming from Cosmobit will be connected to the OT terminals (7-8) present in the boiler terminal box.
1.7 Restore the boiler power supply.
The thermostat will now be operational. Before the room temperature is displayed, different ones will follow
startup screens:

17. - All segments.

At the end, make sure that the temperature shown is in accordance with the temperature at that point in the environment
and that, by turning the thermostat ring, the setpoint temperature can be modied (turning the ring the display assumes the
appearance of the gure below).

1.8 Boiler settings and operation.
Cosmobit can dialogue with the boiler in 3 different operating modes, which must be selected directly on the boiler according
to the parameters:
Models MYDENS and Q30, parameter “2003”
MYDENS models built after 1/1/2019, parameter “2001”
Novadens, Cielodens, Inkadens, Topdens models, parameter “CH”
NOTE: consult the boiler manual for the boiler adaptation settings for the various types of system.
• Mode 0: the boiler starts and stops whenever the temperature detected by Cosmobit deviates by at least 0.5 ° C from the
setpoint set. The boiler ow temperature is calculated by a PID algorithm, present in Cosmobit, such as to calculate the
minimum ow temperature, sufcient to satisfy the room temperature set on Cosmobit . The adjustment mode obtained with
this setting could be affected by the thermal inertia of the system and therefore not very comfortable for the user.
•Mode 1: In this mode, the external probe must be installed on the boiler. The ow temperature is calculated based on the
climatic curve set on the boiler. The boiler starts or stops whenever the temperature detected by Cosmobit deviates by at least
0.5 ° C from the setpoint set. If the ow temperature, calculated from the climatic curve of the boiler, is too low, it is possible
that Cosmobit does not reach the desired temperature. It is advisable to set a sufciently high climatic curve on the boiler.
The adjustment mode obtained with this setting is not affected by the thermal inertia of the system, resulting more
comfortable and more energy-saving than “Mode 0”.
1.9 Check connection between boiler and Cosmobit.
In order to check whether the boiler is correctly connected to Cosmobit, it is sufcient to generate the gas shortage error
(turn on the boiler and close the gas tap) and check that the same error number appears on the boiler on Cosmobit.
NOTE: at this time Cosmobit is not yet connected to the gateway, so the icon at the top right will ash, preceded by an
exclamation mark.

2 - COSMOBIT-GATEWAY CONNECTION AND CONFIGURATION OF INTERNET
CONNECTION
Connect the gateway to the power supply.
During startup the LEDs will light up red.
The connection between the gateway and Cosmobit will be
established automatically and the LEDs will all turn green,
except for the one with the “internet connection” symbol (the
rst on the left). Attention if the central LED remains red, this
means that the gateway has not connected to the Cosmobit.
First make sure that the distance is not excessive. In case of
persistence of the red led even at short distances proceed
with a new binding between the 2 devices (see chapter 5).
Connect the Ethernet cable from the Gateway to an internet
router.
The gateway will automatically connect to the internet via the
modem-router. When the internet connection is established,
the internet connection symbol will change from red to
blinking green.
If the connection between Cosmobit and gateway has been
successful, it can also be seen from the Cosmobit which on
the display will show the following symbol.

3 - CREATION OF THE ACCOUNT
3.1 Creation of the account.
Access the portal via the link below or via the QR code,
alternatively you can create the new account, directly from your smartphone or tablet, by downloading the Honeywell app
“Total Connect Comfort”
Once the App is downloaded, select the desired language and complete the various phases, as indicated in the
online procedure itself.
Downloading the App on your smartphone will allow you to monitor the operation of the Cosmobit remotely and set the time
slots for the whole week.
Login user name and password are those chosen in chapter 3.1
3.2 Installation Name.
After completing the registration and activating it via the conrmation email, a name must be given Installation.
Keep in mind that it is possible to have more installations under control so the name should help you understand what boiler is
is managing (sea house, apartment in the center, etc.). The procedure will ask you for the MAC address and CRC number,
these two values are shown in a sticker under the gateway (gure below).
The MAC and CRC codes are shown on the gateway identication label.

4 - REHABILITATION PROCEDURE (BINDING)
Cosmobits and gateways are shipped already paired. In some cases this combination is lost, so it is necessary
renew it through the “binding” operation.
This operation must be performed even if only one of the two components is replaced.
To carry out the pairing, proceed as follows:
a - Hold down the button below the gateway until the green
light of the wi icon ashes;
Green light of WiFi present on the gateway
b - Press the button below the display on the right side for
about 10 seconds until the word “bnd” appears;
c – the word “bnd” will appear on the display;
d - Briey press the button below the display on the right
side again (see step “b” above). The Cosmobit will send a
request to connect to the gateway, conrmed by the icon
blinking at the top right;
e - if the connection failed: an alarm message appears for
4 seconds before the connection screen is displayed again.
Try again by pressing the right button. If no action is taken
within 30 seconds, the thermostat returns to the “room
temperature” display;
f - If the connection is successful: The display shows the
transmitted signal strength (digit 1 to 5);
g - After 4 sec the thermostat will display the room temperature
with the gateway connection symbol;
If the connection has failed the alarm message will continue to
ash in the upper right corner. Repeat the procedure bringing
the Cosmobit closer to the gateway;

5 - USE
After the rst start-up and during use, the thermostat shows
the room temperature, the internet connection status (top right
icon) and if the thermostat is on heating call or not (stylized
ame on the left of the display).
5.1 Desired Environment Temperature (setpoint temperatures)
To adjust the desired room temperature (or setpoint) simply turn
the thermostat outer ring. The thermostat will try to keep the
set temperature as accurately as possible. Rotate the ring in a
clockwise direction to increase the setpoint or anticlockwise to
decrease it. After 5 sec. The measured temperature appears
again on the screen.
NOTE: If a schedule of time bands has been previously set
via smartphone or tablet, manual modication of the desired
temperature will take effect up to the time change determined
by the aforementioned programming.
5.2 Limitation of setpoint temperatures
Basic Cosmobit can set the setpoint temperature in a range between 5 ° C and 35 ° C.
If you want to limit this adjustment range, proceed as follows:
NOTE: the setpoint temperature limitation, as set on Cosmobit, has priority to the settings from the App.
Turn the adjustment ring counterclockwise until 5 ° C appears.
Then press the button hidden just below the display for 10
seconds as shown in the gure.
The maximum value of 35 ° C appears. Using the adjustment
ring, bring this value to the maximum desired value. It is not
necessary to conrm the operation. This will be the maximum
settable temperature.
Press the right button again to access the minimum value.
Also bring this to the desired value. This will be the minimum
settable temperature.

5.3 Comfort Opltimal Mode
If the modulating regulation of the boiler does not guarantee the desired comfort, often due to the low temperature of the
radiators, it is possible to use the OPC mode via the installation menu. This regulation mode provides a higher water delivery
temperature and therefore a greater radiant heat; this adjustment mode will be less economical than the “standard” one.

Pressing again displays the control mode. Through the
regulation ring it is possible to choose the standard mode
(Std) or the optimal comfort mode (OPc) (See §5.3).
Wait 10 seconds, after which Cosmobit will automatically exit
the installation menu.

6 - DIAGNOSTICS
6.1 Cosmobit side diagnostics
Cosmobit is connected to a Gateway but cannot be controlled
remotely. Check that the gateway is powered and that all its
icons are xed green.
Cosmobit can be controlled remotely (smartphone, tablet or
PC). The display shows the connection symbol in a frame.
Clock symbol: the temperature setpoint is programmed via a
timer. At the preset time or after the number of preset hours
has elapsed the setpoint will return to the previous value or
program. Function settable only through APP.
Padlock symbol: the setpoint is blocked for an indenite period.
Function settable only through APP.
Stop symbol: the thermostat is off for an indenite time.
Function settable only through APP.
ATTENTION:
• The last setting made, whether through APP or directly on the Cosmobit, prevails over the previous ones.
• In the case of weekly programming, the manual modication made directly on the Cosmobit will take effect until
the current time slot expires. Then the programming will continue to follow what was previously set.
• The weekly programming will be performed even in the absence of internet connection, this because the last
programming remains stored in the gateway. If the gateway is turned off, the setpoint would remain at the last set
value.

6.2 Gateway side diagnostics
The thermostat is not
powered.
Connect the appliance to the mains (connect the socket and
switch off the switch if necessary). Check the wiring and check
the connections to the thermostat and the appliance.
The boiler is in error. The letter “F” appears on the display followed by one or two digits.
Consult the boiler manual for the meaning of this code.
OpenTherm
communication error
(blinking).
OT and the room temperature are shown alternately. Check the
connections between the thermostat and the appliance via the
terminals provided for OpenTherm communication. Check the
manual of the appliance to verify that it has been followed correctly.
Defective thermostat. The thermostat must be replaced.
Communication error. Check the power supply of the internet gateway. Communication
with the appliance could be disturbed by objects that obstruct the
passage (metal objects), or due to excessive distance between
the appliance and the gateway.
