GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE USING THE MITER SAW
Safely is a combination of common sense, staying alert
and knowing how to use your miter saw.
To avoid mistakes that could cause serious injury, do not
plug the tool in until you have read and understood the
following,

5DON'T USE IN DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENTS.
Don't use power tools in damp locations, or expose
t!]em to rain or snow Keep work area well lighted,
6. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY, All visitors and bystanders
should be kept asafe distance from work area
7MAKE WORKSHOP CHILD PROOF wilf_padlocks,
master switches, or by removing starter keys
8 DON'T FORCE THE TOOL, It wil_ do the job belier
and safer al the rate for which it was designed,
9. USE THE RIGHT TOOL,, Do not force the tool or an
attachment to do ajob for which _twas not designed
10°USE PROPER EXTENSION CORDS, Make sure
your extension cord isin good condition When using
an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough
[o carry the current your productwill draw An
undersized cord will result in a drop in line voltage
and in loss of power which will cause the tool to
overheat Tile table on page 5 shows the correcl size
touse depending on cord length and nameplafe
ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge
The smaller the gauge number, the heavier the cord.
11.WEAR PROPER APPAREL. Do not wear loose
c!olhing, gloves, neckties, rings, bracelets, or other
jewelry which may gel caught in moving parts

compliance with ANSI Z87 1 could seriously injure
you when they break
13,WEAR A FACE MASK OR DUST MASK. Sewing
operation produces dust
14..SECURE WORK_ Use cfamps or a vise to hold work
when practical. It's safer than using your hand and it
frees both hands to operate reef
15,DISCONNECT TOOLS before the servicing and
when changing accessories such as blades bets and
cutters
]&REDUCE THE RISK OF UNINTENTIONAL
STARTING, Make sure switch is in Ihe OFF position
before plugging the roof in
