Product Information
The Multi-Input Module, (MIM) is an optional two-module-width,
‘mixer within a mixer’ input strip for use in the Century Series Vx
mixing console. It replaces two consecutive mono or stereo input
modules at any location within the console. The MIM provides eight
independent inputs which can be configured in any combination of
mono or stereo.Any pair can be set up to accept mic or line level sig-
nals. The MIM is used in situations requiring a large number of
inputs to be mixed in a small physical space. Applications include
choir/orchestral miking, pre-recorded stereo sources and/or effects
returns. A fully loaded, 52 input position Vx console configured
exclusively with MIM modules can accommodate 208 mic or line
level inputs.
Each independent input has separate input gain control, PFL switch,
and Peak/Signal Present LED indicator. Each of the four pairs of
inputs utilize common Mic/Line, Pad, 48V Phantom Power and
On/Off switches. Each pair can be configured for mono or stereo
operation. The aforementioned inputs feeds the common Multi
Master section located on the right side of the MIM. The Multi
Master section is similar to a regularVx Stereo Input module, except
that the Input Gain pot and switches are replaced by a mix trim
stereo level control.
Panel controls (each of four identical inputs)
MIC input selector
Selects mic level sensitivity for both L & R Input XLRs.
The default (with the switch released) is Line Input sensitivity.
+48V phantom power ON-OFF switch
Supplies +48V to the input XLRs.
Active only when MIC sensitivity is selected.
PAD switch
Inserts 15dB of attenuation between the XLRs and the preamp.
Active in both mic and line positions.
GAIN dual-concentric control pair
Gain control for the dual preamp.
ON-OFF switch with indicator
For the preamp output to the stereo sub-mix.
Feeds preamp output to the stereo sub-mix.
L & R assign switches
Assigns preamp output to the module stereo sub-mix.
For normal Stereo output release both switches. Use either L or R
alone to send one side of the input to both sides of the mix. Select
both switches for a mono mix of both inputs to the stereo mix.
SIGNAL indicators
L & R audio, bi-color indication:
normal level = green; overload = red.
PFL switches with indicators
For the individual L & R inputs.
