User information
Microsafe Mkomfy is a safety product from CTM Lyng AS.
The product is mandatory for new installations and major
renovation projects and is intended as extra safety for avoiding
uncontrolled fire breakout and damage to property.
The product assumes normal care in the use of the cooker and
associated cooking implements. In normal use the cooker should
be kept under frequent observation, even if safety equipment
such as Mkomfy is installed.
Time function
When Mkomfy detects heat on the hob, an integral timer starts up.
After 2 hours, the power supply is turned off, even if no overheating
isdetected.
5 minutes before the time expires, Mkomfy will emit a sound signal once
every 15 seconds. If you need to continue cooking, a short press on the
function button within the last five minutes will extend user time by an extra
30 minutes. This can be repeated if a new warning is given and your cooking
is still not finished.
Anti-tamper function
If the sensor is removed from its bracket, a safety function is activated which
cuts off the power to the cooker. On activation, the sensor will beep once
asecond for 5 seconds, before disconnecting the cooker. To start the cooker,
replace the sensor in the bracket and press the function button (short press).
Overheating
An absolute limit has been set for the maximum temperature on the hob.
Therule is that a frying pan with fat must not get so hot that it catches
fire. In the case of overheating, Mkomfy will emit an alarm of 3 short sound
signals every 5 seconds. Normally, if you operate the function button within
40seconds of hearing the alarm, you will have 5 minutes more user time,
oryou can take steps to reduce the temperature and continue as normal.
Ifthefunction button is not pressed, the cooker will turn off after 40 seconds.
Please remember that if you slide a frying pan or saucepan over onto another
cooker element, you will be uncovering a very hot element as well as the hot
frying pan/saucepan. Mkomfy may detect this as overheating and shut down
the cooker after an overheating warning.
The product requires correct installation and maintenance as described.

Changing the timer function
The timer function can be temporarily changed from 2 hours
operating time to 12 hours operating time.
This is done by pressing the function button for 10 seconds.
The sensor acknowledges this with two sound signals. During the
last five minutes of the twelve hour period, the sound emitter
will produce a sound signal every 30 seconds. If cooking is to
proceed for more than 12 hours, pressing the function button
within the last 5 minutes will extend user time by 30minutes.
This can be repeated if cooking is still not finished and a new
warning is given. If it is wished to reset Mkomfy to 2hours
operating time, press the function button for 10 seconds,
andthesensor will acknowledge this with a single sound signal.

**Induction
When using a powerful induction cooker, safety can be
increased by shortening the alarm period so that the cooker
cuts out after 20 seconds in the event of overheating, rather
than the standard 40 seconds.
* Extra-high temperature (To be carried out only by an
authorisedinstaller)
In certain locations or with certain types of hob, the sensor
may be slightly over-sensitive. In such cases, the overheating
temperature may be raised by 15 degrees. This function
should be used with great care, as it may affect the safety
of the product. We recommend that the sensor is used as
supplied, in off-position.

Pairing of Sensor and Cooker Guard Relay
The Mkomfy set with sensor and cooker guard relay in the same pack are
already paired. If you have bought a separate sensor, this must be paired
with the cooker guard relay. This can be done in two different ways.
Read through the whole instruction for both alternatives before performing pairing!
Alternative 1:
Pairing of Sensor without physical intervention on cooker guard relay.
1. Activate Sensor in pairing mode by setting DipSW 4 to active [ON].
2. Disconnect the power to the cooker guard relay for 5 seconds by
turning the relevant fuse circuit off and on.
- Within 20 seconds of turning the fuse circuit on:
Hold in the function button on the sensor for 6 seconds.
The sensor will emit a sound signal every 2 seconds, if pairing
hassucceeded.
3. Once again, disconnect the power to the cooker guard relay
for5seconds by turning the relevant fuse circuit off and on.
NB! This must be done within one minute of connecting the
relay under Point 2, or the pairing will not be saved
4. Set DipSW 4 back to inactive [OFF].
Pairing is now complete.
Alternative 2:
Pairing of Sensor by activation of programming button on cooker guard relay.
1. Activate Sensor in pairing mode by setting DipSW 4 to active [ON].
2. Briefly press the programming button on the cooker guard relay.
Yellow diode will now begin to flash. The cooker guard relay will
now be in pairing mode for 30 seconds.
3. Hold in the function button on the sensor for 6 seconds while
the yellow LED flashes. The sensor will emit a sound signal every
2 seconds, if pairing has succeeded.
4. Set DipSW 4 back to inactive [OFF].
NB: It is not possible to have more than 1 Mkomfy Sensor connected to the
Cooker Guard Relay at the same time. Pairing a new sensor will automatically
delete the sensor already paired with the cooker guard relay.
