3.Usingausedmatch,penorsimilar,pushandholdtherecessedtuningbuttonuntilthe
LEDonthetransmitterhasashedonce,thenrelease.
4.UponreleasingtheredLEDonthetransmitterwillrapidlyashforaminute.
5.WhiletheLEDonthetransmitterisashing,usethelargeroundbuttononthetopof
theGatewaytoreachthemainscreen(thisisthescreenthatshows0).Nowpress
andholdthelargeroundbuttonuntiltheGateway’sredLEDashes,thenreleasethe
button.ThemainGatewayscreenwillpairtothetransmitter,clearandthenrevertto
normaloperation.
6.Afteraboutaminute,thetransmitterLEDwillreverttoashingonceevery6seconds.
TheGateway’smainscreenwillnowshow‘0Watts’.IftheTransmitter’sfastashing
stopsbeforeyouareready;startfromthebeginningagain.
Fitting the Mini transmitter to your meter
1.Nowthetransmitteranddisplayarepaired,takethetransmitteranditsattachedCT
jawtotheproperty’selectricitymeter.
2.Findthethickroundwiresconnectedtotheelectricitymeter.TheCTjawshouldbe
placedaroundthelivecablewhichrunsfromyourmetertoyourfusebox,thisis
usuallythefourthcablefromtheleft.
IMPORTANT:Whenlookingatthecablesleavingthebottomofthemeter,theyshould
befullyinsulatedandyoushouldnotbeabletoseeanyofthecableconductororcore.
If you do see the live conductor, do not touch the cable and consult a qualied
electrical installer for advice
3.Chooseaplaceonthecableslengthwherethereissomeroomaroundandbehindit.
EncirclethecablewiththejawoftheCT.Pleasenote,itshouldnotbe‘clamped’onto

3.Youwillneedtopairboththegatewayandthedisplaysimultaneouslyorwithinafew
secondsofeachother.
4.Locatetherecessedtuningbuttononthefrontofthetransmitter.
5.Usingausedmatch,penorsimilar,pushandholdtherecessedtuningbuttonuntilthe
LEDonthetransmitterhasashedonce,thenrelease.
6.UponreleasingtheredLEDonthetransmitterwillrapidlyashforaminute.

2.Pushandholdthesmallbuttonintheholeonthefrontofthetransmitteruntilthe
transmitterLEDhasashed twice,thenrelease.
3.TheLEDwillstarttoashfaster.
4.Plugyouradditionaldisplayintoitsmainsadapterandplugthemainsadapterinto
awallsocket.WhiletheLEDonthetransmitterisashing,pressandholdthedown
buttonontheadditionaldisplayuntilthedisplayLEDashes.
5.Whenyoureleasethebuttonontheadditionaldisplaythescreenwillshowatuning
signalindicatingthedisplayistuningtothetransmitter.
6.Oncetuningiscompleted,alldisplayswillclearandthen‘0watts’willappear.This
usuallytakes1to2minutes.Theaerialiconwillappearindicatingthatpairinghas
beensuccessful.

frontofthetransmitteruntiltheLEDonthewhiteOptiSmarttransmitterhasashed
once,thenrelease.
3.TheLEDwillstarttoashfasterforaboutaminute.
4.AttheGateway,usethebuttonontoptoreachthechannel9screen.Nowpress
andholdthebuttonuntiltheGateway’sredLEDashes,thenreleasethebutton.The
Gatewayscreen9willpairtothetransmitter.Thiswillshow1000(defaultimp/kWh)
5.Ifthenumberisdifferentfromtheimp/kWhontheelectricitymeter,useausedmatch,
penorsimilartopressandreleasethesmallbuttonintheholeonthetransmitterso
thatthenumberchanges.(Theoptionsare100,500,600,800,1000,1250,1600,
3200,10000).
Afteraboutaminute,thetransmittersLEDwillreverttoashingonceevery6seconds.
TheGateway’schannel9screenwillnowsay‘DAT’.Ifthetransmitter’sfastashing
stopsbeforeyouareready,startfromthebeginningagain.
Pairing the NetSmart Wireless Gateway and the OptiSmart Transmitter – Main
screen (Energy Now Data)
1.PlacethewhiteOptiSmartTransmitterandtheGatewayinthesameroom.
2.Usingausedmatch,penorsimilar,pushandholdthesmallbuttonintheholeonthe
frontofthetransmitteruntiltheLEDonthewhiteOptiSmarttransmitterhasashed
threetimes,thenrelease.
3.TheLEDwillstarttoashfasterforaboutaminute.
4.AttheGateway,usethelargebuttononthetoptoreachthemainscreen(thisisthe
screenthatshows0).NowpressandholdthebuttonuntiltheGateway’sredLED
ashes,thenreleasethebutton.Themainscreenwillpairtothetransmitter,clear
andthenreverttonormaloperation.
5.Afteraboutaminute,thetransmitter’sLEDwillreverttoashingonceevery6
seconds.TheGateway’smainscreenwillnowshow‘0Watts’.Ifthetransmitter’sfast
ashingstopsbeforeyouareready;startfromthebeginningagain.
Fitting the transmitter to your meter
1.TakethetransmitteranditsOptiSmartreadertotheproperty’selectricitymeter.On
theelectricitymeter,locatetheashingredLEDlabelled‘kWh’.Ignoreanyother
ashingorsteadyLED’s.CleantheareathoroughlyaroundthecorrectashingLED
usingadrypapertissue.
2.Takethesuppliedadhesivebaseandremovethepaperbacking.Carefullyalignthe
holeinthecirclesothattheashingLEDshinesclearlythroughthehole,andstick
thebasetotheelectricitymeter.Whenyouarehappythatitisaligned,applyrm
pressuretoxtheadhesive.
3.Putthetransmitterinaconvenientplaceclearofmetalsurfaces,whereitsradio
antennacanworkeffectively.
4.PlugtheOptiSmartreaderintothetransmitter,andcarefullyplaceitoverthebase.
Whenthealignmentiscorrect,theLEDinsidetheopticalreaderwillashatthesame
timeastheoneontheelectricitymeter.

1.PlugtheIAMintoaconvenientwallsocket.DonotpluganapplianceintotheIAMatthis
stage.
2.Switchonthewallsocketpowersupply.TheredLEDontheIAMshouldbeon.
3.OnthefrontlocatetherecessedtuningbuttoninthecentreoftheIAM.
4.Usingausedmatch,penorsimilar,pushandholdtherecessedtuningbuttonuntilthe
redLEDhasashedonceonly.
5.UponreleasingtheredLEDontheIAMwillashrapidly.Ifitdoesn’tpleasetryagain.
6.GototheGatewayandpressthelargeroundbuttononce.Thiswilltakeyoutoascreen
thatwillshowchannel1.
7.NextpressandholdthelargeroundbuttonuntiltheredLEDontheGatewayashes.
8.Whenyoureleasethebutton,thescreenwillshowdashesindicatingthedisplayis
tuningtotheIAM.
9.Oncetuningiscomplete,theGatewaydisplaywillclearanddisplay‘0Watts’.
10.TakeyourIAMtothewallsocketofthechosenapplianceyouwishtomonitorandplug
itin.YoucannowplugtheapplianceintoyourIAM.
11.TheenergyusageofyourconnectedappliancewillnowbedisplayedontheGateway
screen.
12.ToaddfurtherIAMsrepeattheabovesteps.Whenyouareatstep6andchannel1is
displayed,justpressthelargeroundGatewaybuttononcetotakeyoutothechannel
2screen.CompletetheabovestepstonishtuningyoursecondIAMtochannel2.
RepeatthisprocesswithadditionalIAMs.
Registering your NetSmart Wireless Gateway on the Current Cost Web Dashboard
1.Gotohttp://my.currentcost.comandclickregisterhere.
2.Createyouraccountbyenteringausername,passwordandyouremailaddress.Then
presssubmit.
3.Youwillthenbetakentoascreenconrmingthattheregistrationhasbeensuccessfully
completed.Clicklogin.
4.Theloginpagewillappearwithyouruserdetailspopulated.Clicklogin.
5.Onceloggedin,clickthe+buttonatthetoprightofthescreentoregisteranewdevice.
6.Youwillthenbenavigatedtothe‘Quickdeviceactivation’page.Select‘CurrentCost
WirelessGateway’asthemodelfromthedropdownmenu,entertheserialnumberof
yourNetSmartWirelessGatewayandgiveitaname.Pressthesubmitbutton.
7.YourNetSmartWirelessGatewayshouldnowbesuccessfullyregisteredontheCurrent
CostWebDashboard.
