8. Power Sources The appliance should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the
operatinginstructionsorasmarkedontheappliance.
9. Groundingor Polarization Precautions should be taken so that thegrounding or polarization means of an
applianceisnotdefeated.
10. PowerCordProtection Powersupplycordsshouldberoutedsothattheyarenotlikelytobewalkedonor
pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience
receptaclesandthepointwheretheyexitfromtheappliance.
11. CleaningTheapplianceshouldbecleanedonlyasrecommendedbythemanufacturer.
12. PowerLinesAnoutdoorantennashouldbelocatedawayfrompowerlines.
13. Outdoor Antenna Grounding Ifan outside antennais connectedto the receiver, besure
the antennasystem isgroundedso as to provide some protection against voltagesurges
andbuiltupstaticcharges.
14. NonusePeriodsThepowercordoftheapplianceshouldbeunpluggedfromtheoutletwhenleftunusedfor
alongperiodoftime.
15. ObjectandLiquidEntryCareshouldbetaken sothatobjectsdo notfallandliquidsarenotspilledintothe
enclosurethroughopenings.
16. DamageRequiringServiceTheapplianceshouldbeservicedbyqualifiedservicepersonnelwhen:
A. Thepowersupplycordortheplughasbeendamaged;or
B. Objectshavefallen,orliquidhasbeenspilledintotheappliance;or
C. Theappliancehasbeenexposedtorain;or

17. Servicing The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in the operating
instructions.Allotherservicingshouldbereferredtoqualifiedservicepersonnel.

Followtheadvicebelowforsafeandappropriateoperations.
ONPROTECTIONAGAINSTLASERENERGYEXPOSURE
· Asthelaserbeamusedinthiscompactdiscplayerisharmfultotheeyes,donotattempttodisassemblethe
casing.
· Stopoperationimmediatelyifanyliquidorsolidobjectshouldfallintothecabinet.
· Do not touch the lens or pokeat it. If you do, you may damage the lens and theplayermay not operate
properly.
· Donotputanythinginthesafetyslot.Ifyoudo,thelaserdiodewillbeONwhentheCDdoorisstillopen.
· Iftheunitisnottobeusedforalongperiodoftime,makesurethatallpowersourcesaredisconnectedfrom
theunit.Removeallbatteriesfromthebatterycompartment,andunplugthepowercordortheACDCadaptor
ifused,fromthewalloutlet.MakeitapracticetoremovetheACDCadaptorbygraspingthemainbodyand
notbypullingthecord.
· Thisunitemploysalaser.Theuseofcontrolsoradjustmentorperformanceofproceduresotherthanthose
specifiedheremayresultinexposuretohazardousradiation.
ONPLACEMENT
· Donotusetheunitinplaceswhichareextremelyhot,cold,dustyorhumid.
· Placetheunitonaflatandevensurface.
· Donotrestricttheairflowoftheunitbyplacingitinaplacewithpoorventilation,bycoveringitwithaclothor
byplacingitonacarpet.
ONCONDENSATION
· Whenleftinaheatedroomwhereitiswarmanddamp,waterdropletsorcondensationmayforminsidethe
unit.
· Whenthereiscondensationinsidetheunit,theunitmaynotfunctionnormally.
· Letitstandfor1to2hoursbeforeturningthepoweron,orgraduallyheattheroomupanddrytheunitbefore
use.

2. Insert4pcsSize“C”(UM2)batteries(notincluded)accordingtothepolaritydiagramonthebackcabinet.
3. ClosetheBATTERYCASE(#25).
4. Turnthe POWERON/OFF(11#)to ON position,the
POWERINDICATOR(#15)willbeturnedred
IMPORTANT: Besurethatthebatteriesareinstalledcorrectly.Wrongpolaritymaydamagetheunit.
Note:Forbetterperformanceandlongeroperatingtime,werecommendtheuseofalkalinetypebatteries.
(a) Donotmixoldandnewbatteries.
(b) Donotmixalkaline,standard(carbonzinc)orrechargeable(nickelcadmium)batteries.
Iftheunitisnottobeusedforanextendedperiodoftime,removethebattery.Oldorleakingbatterycancause
damagetotheunitandmayvoidthewarranty.

Remark:thisunitdoesn’tprovidetheAC/DCadaptor.wesuggestyoutobuytheproperAC/DCadaptorwithbelow
charactertoconnecttheACdirectly.

1. Connectthe DCJackintotheDC6VMAINS(#14)onthesideoftheunit.
2. ConnecttheotherterminaloftheAC/DCAdaptortothewalloutlet
3. Turn the POWERON/OFF(11#)to o”ON” position, the
POWERINDICATOR(#15)willbeturnedred
CDPLAYEROPERATION
1. SettheFUNCTIONSELECTOR(#23)tothe"CD"position.
2. OpentheCDDOOR(#21).PlaceanaudioCDwithitslabelsideupwardintheCDcompartmentandclose
theCDDOOR(#21).
3. Afterafewseconds,thetotalnumberoftracksontheCDwillappearintheCDTRACKDISPLAY(#16).
4. Press theCD PLAY/PAUSEBUTTON (#8)and the CD will startplayingfrom the first track. The CD Track
Displaywilllightsteadily.
5. AdjusttheVOLUMECONTROL(#22)toobtainthedesiredsoundlevelfromtheSPEAKER(#17).
6. Tosuspendplaying,presstheCDPLAY/PAUSEButton(#8).TheCDTrackDisplaywillflash.Toresume
playing,presstheCDPLAY/PAUSE BUTTON(#8)again.
7. YoucanchoosetoplayyourfavoritetrackdirectlybypressingtheCDF.FWDBUTTON(#7)toskipforwardor
CD REW BUTTON(#6) to skip backward. The CD TRACK DISPLAY (#16) will indicate the correct track
numberselected.
8. Torepeatplayingaparticulartrack,presstheREPEATBUTTON(#3)once. TheLCDdisplaywillshow“ONE”
(Thatmeansitwillrepeatthecurrentsong)
9. TorepeatplayingentireCD,PresstheREPEATBUTTON(#3)twice,theLCDdisplaywillappear“ALL”(that
meansitwillrepeattheentiretracksofthedisc.);PresstheREPEARBUTTON(#3)threetimes,itwillstop
theREPEATfunctionandbacktonormalplay
10. Toplayrandomly,PressRANDOMBUTTON(4#)once,TheLCDdisplaywillshow“SHUF”andplaythesongs
randomly;PressRANDOMBUTTON(4#)again,the“SHUF”willbedisappeared,thenbacktothenormalplay.
11. Tostopplaying,presstheCDSTOPBUTTON(#5).
12. WhenyouwishtoturnofftheCDPlayer,setthePOWERON/OFFBUTTON(#11)tothe"OFF"position.

CDPROGRAMMEDPLAY
Thisfunctionallowsthetrackstobeplayedinaprogrammedsequence.
1. Under CDstop or playing condition, press the PROG. BUTTON (#2). The CD TRACK DISPLAY (#16) will
display“01”andthePROGonthedisplaywillflash.
2. PresstheCDF.FWDBUTTON(#7)orCDREWBUTTON(#6)toselectthesongtobeprogrammed.
3. PressthePROG. BUTTON(#2)againtostoreselection.TheCDTRACKDISPLAY(#16)willadvanceto“02”.
4. PresstheCDF.FWDBUTTON(#7)orCDREWBUTTON(#6)toselectthenextsongtobeprogrammedand
pressthePROG. BUTTON(#2)tostoreselection.
5. Themax.programmabletracksreachesas20tracksmerelyformemorysave.
6. PressCDSTOPBUTTON(#5)toendprogrammingandreturntonormalplaymode.
7. Tochecktheprogrammedtracks,pressPROG.BUTTON(#2)continuoustoshowalltheprogrammedsongs.
The CDTRACKDISPLAY(#16) will display theprogramnumberfirstand thenfollowedbythe flashing track
number.
8. PressCDPLAY/PAUSEBUTTON(#8)tobeginprogrammedplay.Thefirsttrackinprogramwillappearinthe
CDTRACKDISPLAY(#16)andthe”PROG”willlightsteadily.
9. Tocancelprogrammedplay,presstheCDSTOPBUTTON(#5).
10. AslongastheunitremainsonandtheCDDOOR(#21)isnotopened,youcanresumeprogrammedplayany
timebypressingthePROG.BUTTON(#2)andthenCDPLAY/PAUSEBUTTON(#8)instopcondition.
RADIORECEPTION
1. SettheFUNCTIONSELECTOR(#23)tothe"RADIO"position.
2. SettheBANDSELECTOR(#24)toeither"AM",or“FM”forthedesiredradioband. Toreceiveaweak(noisy)
FMstation,set theBANDSELECTOR(#24)tothe“FM”position.Thereceptionmaybeimproved,butthe
soundwillbemonaural(MONO).
3. While you switch the BAND SELECTOR(#24) to “FM St”, once you get the right FM station, then the FM
STEREOINDICATOR(#20)willbegettingGREEN
4. AdjusttheTUNINGKNOB(#10)toobtainthedesiredradiostation.
5. AdjusttheVOLUMECONTROL(#22)toobtainthedesiredsoundlevel.
6. WhenyouwishtoturnofftheRadio,setthePOWERON/OFFBUTTON(#11)tothe"OFF"positionorswitch
theFUNCTIONSELECTOR(#23)toCD/AUXINposition.
TIPSFORGOODRADIORECEPTION
1. To insure maximum FM tuner sensitivity, the TELESCOPIC ANTENNA(#9) should be fully extended and
rotated to obtain the bestpossible reception. The FM STEREO INDICATOR(#20) will light steadily when a
stereoprogramisbeingreceived.
2. When tuning in AM reception, be sure to place the unit in a vertical position. To insure the maximum AM
sensitivity,tryrepositioningtheunituntilthebestreceptionisobtained.
AUXINFUNCTION
1. SettheFUNCTIONSELECTOR(#23)toAUXINposition
2. PlugtheexternalsignaljackintotheAUXINjack(#12),thentheunitwillbeusedasspeaker
3. AdjustthevolumebytheVOLUMECONTROL(#22)
4. Stopthisfunction,powerofftheunitorswitchtheFUNCTIONSELECTOR(#23)tootherposition
Remark:Whileusingthisfunction,otherfunctionalkeyareinvalidexcepttheVOLUMECONTROL(#22)
USINGHEADPHONES(NOTINCLUDED)
Inserting theplugof yourheadphones intothe HEADPHONEJACK(#13)willenable you to listento theCD and
Radioinprivate.Whenusingheadphones,theSPEAKER(#17)willbedisconnected.
READTHISIMPORTANTINFORMATIONBEFOREUSINGYOURHEADPHONES
1. Avoidextendedplayatveryhighvolumeasitmayimpairyourhearing.
2. Ifyouexperienceringinginyourears,reducethevolumeorshutoffyourunit.
3. Donotusewhiledrivingamotorizedvehicle.Thisisdangerousandalsoillegalinsomeareas.
4. Keepthevolumeatareasonablelevelevenifyourheadsetisanopenairtypedesignedtoallowyoutohear
outsidesounds.Pleasenoteexcessivelyhighvolumemaystillblockoutsidesounds.

1. Cleanyourunitwithadamp(neverwet)cloth.Solventordetergentshouldneverbeused.
2. Avoidleavingyourunitindirectsunlightorinhot,humidordustyplaces.
3. Keep your unit away from heating appliancesand sources ofelectrical noise such as fluorescentlamps or
motors.
4. IfdropoutsorinterruptionsoccurinthemusicduringCDplay,oriftheCDfailstoplayatall,itsbottomsurface
mayrequirecleaning.Beforeplaying,wipethediscfromthecenteroutwardswithagoodsoftcleaningcloth.
