GENERAL DESCRIPTION
T e configuration interface PRODAT-04 allows to program, by dedicated software, all t e DATEXEL devices of t e SMART and SLIM series using bot fixed
workstations and laptops wit communication serial ports RS-232 on board.
An internal battery is available for t e eventual supply of t e transmitter on programming; t e battery's output voltage is provided on t e connector J4; t e same
voltage is used to power t e interface w en t e output voltage of t e serial port is lower of t e minimum voltage value necessary to t e rig t working of t e
device (± 7Vdc).
T e 1500 Vac galvanic isolation between t e lines of input/power supply and output is obtained by means of opto-couplers on t e data lines and a DC/DC
converter on t e power supply.
By t e dedicated cable (CVPR-03) it is possible to configure t e Intrinsically Safe devices.
Wit t e PRODAT-04 are provided t e standard cable CVP or t e cable CVPR-03, t e CD-ROM containing t e drivers to install t e programming software and
two Jack connectors for t e terminals J3 and J4.
T e configuration interface PRODAT-04 is in compliance wit t e Directive 2004/108/EC on t e Electromagnetic Compatibility.

USER INSTRUCTIONS
A) Use with Standard devices.
The device on programming must be always powered as shown on its technical data-sheet.
T e interface PRODAT-04 must be connected to t e serial port RS-232 by pin-to-pin cable to t e connector J1 ; connect t e ' CVP ' cable from t e connector J2
to t e PRGM connector of t e device on programming.
It is also possible to power t e device on programming using t e internal battery (only for transmitters) connecting t e connector J4 to power supply terminal of
t e transmitter.
B) Use with Intrinsically Safe devices.
The device on programming must be always connected in according to the Safety Specifications reported on the technical data-sheet of the device .
The configurable devices are the following:
- DAT 1010 IS , DAT 1010 IS/HT;
- DAT 1015 IS , DAT 1015 IS/HT;
- DAT 1065 IS , DAT 1065 IS/HT;
- DAT 2015 IS , DAT 2015 IS/HT;
- DAT 4035 IS , DAT 4035 IS/HT.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Follow t e next steps to use t e interface PRODAT-04.
- Connect t e PRODAT-04 to t e COM port of Personal Computer and to t e device on programming.
- Insert t e CD-ROM in t e apposite driver .
- Control t e COM port number w ere t e device is connected.
- Power t e device on programming.
- Install and run t e desired configuration software.
