Introduction
DeluxManufacturingCompanyofKearney,Nebraskahasmanyyearsofexperiencein
producingenergysaving,highcapacitycontinuousflowgraindryersforbothfarmand
commercialapplications.
Deluxgraindryersaredesignedandmanufacturedtoproducequalitygrainataprofit.An
idealbalanceofholdingcapacity,airflow,heatandexposuretimeareprovided.Alldryers
aredesignedforcontinuousflowoperation.Grainenterstheroofsectionofthedryerwhere
itispreheatedasitflowsdownintothecolumnswherethedryingprocessisstarted.Twelve
(12)inchgraincolumnsoneachsideofthedryerprovideformaximumfuelefficiencyand
minimumgrainmoisturedifferentialacrossthecolumns.Asthegrainentersthecooling
chamber,outsideambientairisdrawnthroughthewarmgrainreducingthedryerfuel
consumptionovercompetitiveconventionaldryers,thuscompletingthedryingprocessand
conditioningthegrainforalongsafestoragelife.
UseofManual
Thismanualprovidesoperationandservicerecommendationsalongwitha
replacementpartslistforyourDeluxgraindryer.Itishighlyrecommended
thatthismanualbereadthoroughlybythosewhoareresponsibleforthe
operationandmaintenanceofthismachine.Refertothetableof
contentsforthelocationofspecificinformation.
SafetyCode
Thedesignandmanufactureofthisdryerisdirectedtowardoperator
safety.Useextremecautioninworkingaroundhighspeedfans,gasfired
burners,dischargeaugersandconveyors,andauxiliaryaugersand
conveyors,whichmaystartwithoutwarningwhenthedryerisoperating
onautomaticcontrols.
Continuedsafe,dependableoperationofautomaticequipmentdependstoagreatdegree
upontheowner/operator.Forasafedependabledryingsystem,followthe
recommendationswithinthemanualandmakeitapracticetoregularlyinspectthe
operationoftheunitforanydevelopingproblemsorunsafeconditions.Keepacleangrain
dryer.Donotallowfinematerialtoaccumulateontheplenumorcoolingfloororatrash
firecanresult.Checkingthedryeratleastevery24hoursandcleaningwillhelpprevent
problems.Thedryershouldnotbeleftunattendedforextendedperiodsoftime!
Theoperatorshouldbeawareofallcaution,warning&startuplabelslocatedonthegrain
dryer.Makesurealllabelsarereadableandnotobscured.Replacethelabelsasnecessary.

specificationsofthegraindryer.Italsoincludestheschematicnumberthatthedryeris
wiredto.Thisinformationishelpfulwhendeterminingpowerandfuelrequirementsfrom
yourlocalutilitysupplier.
ServiceInformation
Ourservicedepartmentwillprovideconsultationontheinstallation,operation,and
maintenancetoyou.Also,informationfromyouregardingencounteredoperationorservice
problemsthatarenotcoveredinthismanualwillbegreatlyappreciated.

eventyouoryourdealercannotcorrectaproblem.AphonecalltoDeluxManufacturing
Companywillprovideananswertoyourserviceproblems.
DeluxManufacturingCompanykeepsacompleterecordofeachcustomerorder.However,
valuabletimecanbesavediftheinformationbelowisprovidedwithyourinquiry.Itis
suggestedthatyouobtainthemodelnumberandserialnumberlocatedintheelectrical
controlboxenclosureandkeepitlocatedforlaterreference.
WarrantyProcedures
Allwarrantyissues,partsandservicerequestsshouldbehandledthroughyourlocaldealer.
Inthecasenodealerorrepresentativeexistsinyourarea,oraconflictofinterestexistswith
yourdealerand/orrepresentative,pleasecontactthedepartmentofengineeringand
serviceatDeluxManufacturingCompanyforprocedurestofollow.
WarrantyonalldefectivepartsmanufacturedbyDeluxManufacturingCompanywillbe
limitedtothespecificationssetforthbytheinformationprovidedbyDeluxManufacturing
Companyinitsstandardlimitedwarrantypolicy.Warrantyonalldefectivepartsnot
manufacturedbyDeluxManufacturingCompanyislimitedtothewarrantiesprovidedby
thatpart’smanufacturer.Thisincludes,butisnotlimitedto,electricmotors,gearheads,
valves,regulatorsandotherparts.DeluxManufacturingCompanyisnotresponsiblefor
defectivepartsnotofitsmanufacture.
Authorizationforcreditorreplacementunderwarrantyfordefectivepartsormaterial
manufacturedbyDeluxManufacturingCompanywillnotbeissuedunlessstrictcompliance
isgiventothewarrantypartsreturnprocedureslistedbelow.WhencontactingDelux
ManufacturingCompanyinregardtothepoliciesandproceduressetforthinthismanual,
directallcorrespondenceandcallstothedepartmentofengineeringandserviceatDelux
ManufacturingCompany.
Exceptasspecifiedpreviously,referallwarrantyclaimstoyourdealer.
Warrantypartsreturnandcreditprocedure:
1) DeluxManufacturingCompanymustbenotifiedbywritingorphonewithinfifteen
(15)daysafteranallegedfailureofapartmanufacturedbyDeluxManufacturing
Companyisdiscovered.Failuretogivesuchnoticewithinthetimespecifiedshallbe
deemedanadmissionbythepurchaserthattheproductisasrepresentedand
warrantedbyDeluxManufacturingCompanyandfreefromalldefectsandDelux
ManufacturingCompanyshallbereleasedfromanyandallclaimsarisingoutoforin
connectionwiththesaleofthepartorproduct.
2) UponnotificationfrompurchaserthatapartmanufacturedbyDeluxManufacturing
Companyhasallegedlyfailed,thefailureiscoveredbythestandardlimitedwarranty
andtheoriginalwarrantyregistrationcardisonfilewithDeluxManufacturing
CompanyatitsKearney,Nebraskaheadquarters,arrangementswillbemadeby

DeluxManufacturingCompanytoshipthereplacementparttopurchaserwith
freightchargedatthestandardgroundshippingrate.
3) Oncethereplacementparthasbeenshipped,purchaserwillreceiveaninvoicefor
thevalueoftheequipmentshippedplustheshippingcharges.Purchasermustthen
fullycompleteareturnpartstagidentifyingtheallegedpartfailureandreturnsaid
tagalongwiththeallegedlyfailedparttoDeluxManufacturingCompanywithfreight
prepaidbypurchaser.Nowarrantycreditshallbegiventopurchaseronallegedly
failedpartsthatarenotreturnedtoDeluxManufacturingCompanywithinthirty(30)
daysfromdateofthediscoveryoftheallegedfailureorwithinfifteen(15)daysfrom
theshippingdateindicatedupontheinvoicesentwiththereplacementpart,
whicheverdateislater.Purchasermustuseproperpackingmaterialtoensure
againstdamageduringshipping.Anyshippingdamagecausedbyimproperpackingis
notcoveredunderthestandardlimitedwarranty.
4) Theinvoiceforthereplacementpartplusthefreightchargeremainspayableby
purchaseruntilsuchtimeastheallegedlyfailedparthasbeenreturnedwitha
completedreturnpartstagattachedandtheparthasbeeninspectedbyDelux
ManufacturingCompanytodetermineifthewarrantyclaimisvalid.Purchaserwill
thenreceivenotificationfromDeluxManufacturingCompanyastothereceiptofthe
defectivepartandDeluxManufacturingCompany’sfindingsonthewarrantyclaim
withinareasonabletimethereafter.
5) IfthepartisfoundtobedefectivebyDeluxManufacturingCompany,Delux
ManufacturingCompanyshallcredittheamountowedundertheinvoicesentwith
thereplacementpartexceptforthefreightincurredinshippingthereplacementpart
topurchaser.
6) IfthepartreturnedbypurchaserisfoundbyDeluxManufacturingCompanytobe
functionalandoperationalandincompliancewiththemanufacturedspecifications,it
willbereturneduponrequesttopurchaseratpurchaser’scost.Ifnorequestis
receivedbypurchaser,thepartshallbedestroyedafteraperiodoften(10)days.
DeluxManufacturingCompany’schargesforinspectionofanon‐defectiveDelux
ManufacturingCopartwillbesubjecttothestandardhourlyrateandzonecharges.
7) Nonon‐DeluxManufacturingCompanylaborornon‐DeluxManufacturingCompany
replacementpartwillbeauthorizedwithoutfirstanestimateofthecostofpartand
laborprovidedtoDeluxManufacturingCompany.Deviationsfromthisestimatewill
besolelyatthepurchaserordealer’scost.

mileagecosts),plusparts).Therepairedpartswillcarryathirty(30)daylimitedwarranty.
ThesameexclusionsandlimitationsoftheDeluxManufacturingCompanystandardlimited
warrantypolicyreferencedabovealsoapplytothisthirty(30)daylimitedwarranty.

Deluxdryersrequiringserviceforcustomerswhohaveanestablishedlineofcreditwillbe
invoicedforservicesrendered.Customersnothavinganestablishedlineofcreditwillbeon

SafetyConsiderations
Acleandryerisanefficientdryer.Thoroughinspectionoftheplenumheat
chamberandvacuumcoolingchamberandcleaningifnecessaryis
recommendedatleastevery24hoursofoperation.Installburnercovers
providedwithdryerbeforecleaningtoreduceamountofdustandforeign
materialfallingintofanhubsandburners.Cleanscreensoninsideofplenum
heatchamber,thenremovedustandforeignmaterialfromplenumfloor.
Inspectcoolingchamberandcleanifnecessary.Checktheoutsidescreensandcleanif
necessary.Theareaarounddryershouldalsobekeptclean.Accumulationofmaterialonthe
heatdeck,innerscreensorcoolingfloorcanleadtodryerfires!Donotassumethatthedryer
isstayingcleanontheinside.Checkthedryerregularlyandcleanasneeded.
Donotleavetheburnercoversintheplenumwhiledrying.Theycaninterferewiththeflow
ofairandforeignmaterialthroughtheStay‐Kleensystem(seebelow).
Stay‐KleenOperation&Maintenance
TheStay‐Kleendesignprovidesapathforthefines,dustandforeignmaterialthatentersinto
theheatandcoolchambersofthedryertoescapebackintothegrainflowanddischarge.
CertaindryingconditionsandpoorgrainqualitywillaffecttheefficiencyoftheStay‐Kleen
system.
Thereareadjustablefillerplatesaddedtoeachsideofthecoolingfloorcover.Theseallowyou
tonarrowthegapbetweenthecenterwalkplateandthescreentokeeplarger,lighterweight
foreignmaterialfrombeingdrawnbackupintothecoolingsection.Thedefaultsettingfor
theseplatesis¼”gap.Differentgrainconditionsmayinfluencetheneedtoadjustthisgap.
Deluxdoesnotrecommendmorethana¼”gap.
TheStay‐Kleensystemoperatesbestwiththefreshairintakesopenasfaraspossible(Seeitem
2below).Ifitisnecessarytoclosetheintakessometobettercoolthegrain,beextraattentive
tothecleanlinessoftheinnerchambers.

2.1. Fresh‐airintakeportsareprovidedtoallowfreshairtoflowdirectlytothefan(s).The
fan(s)cannotreceiveenoughairdirectlythroughthegrainbeingcooledsofresh‐air
intakeportsareprovided.Theseportsallowtheoperatortohavemorecontrolover
theoutgoingtemperatureoftheproductbeingdried.
2.2. Settings:Openthedoorsthatarelabeled‘FullOpen’,locateddirectlyonthefan(s),full
open.Openotherdoorslabeled‘AsNeeded’asfaraspossiblewhilestillcoolingthe
grainasneeded.Whenthegrainisnotcoolenoughclosethedoorsdownthatarenot
locateddirectlyonthefan(s)‐whengrainistoocoolopenthesedoors.Keepalldoors
thatarebeingadjustedthesameaseachother.Whendryinglowmoistureproducts,it
maybenecessarytoadjusttheplenumtemperaturedowntogettheproductascoolas
desired.
2.3. CAUTION:Havingthefreshairintakedoorsclosedtoofarcandecreasecapacityand
causeexcessiveheatwhichcouldresultinunevenmoisturecontentofdischarge
grainandinextremeconditions,firesontheheatdeckorcoolingfloor.

4. Turnonmainpower
4.1. Mainpowerlightwillcome“ON”.
5. Turnonpanelpowerandprovesafetycircuit
5.1. Movepowerswitchto“RUN”position.After10seconds,moveandholdswitchto
“START”position.Thiswillenergizepanelpowerrelayandprovide120VACtocontrol
system.Safetycircuitmonitorlightswillcomeonandsafetycircuitlightwillcomeon.
Releaseswitchbackto“RUN”.
6. Tofillwithwetgrain
6.1. Moveloadoperationswitchto"ON"position.Loadingsystemwillbeactivatedandwill
filldryer.Whendryerisfullofgrain,highgrainshutdownwillshutoffallloading
equipmentautomatically.(Leaveloadswitchin"ON"position.)Grainloadinglightwill
comeonduringfilling‐lowgrainlightwillcomeonuntildryerisfullofgrainthengo
out.
7. Tostartfan(s)
7.1. Moveandholdfanswitchto"START"positionuntilallfan(s)start,thenreleaseto
“RUN”position.Fanprovenlight(s)willcomeonasfan(s)prove.Purginglightwillcome
onafterfan(s)prove.
7.2. Dryerswithtwo(2)ormorefansareequippedwithdelaytimers,whichallowonlyone
(1)fantostartatatime.
