NATURAL AND LP GAS
Both LP and natural gas are odoured to
help detect leaks.
Appliances using LP gas are dierent
from natural gas models. A natural gas
appliance can not function safely on LP gas
and vice versa.
Do not try to convert a gas appliance from
a natural gas to a LP gas appliance.
This could damage the appliance and
cause injuries or fires. Never connect the
gas appliance to a fuel type that is not in
accordance with the appliance’s data table.
WHEN DETECTING A LEAK ON
YOUR INSTALLATION
LP gas is twice as heavy as air and may
accumulate in low lying areas and cavities.
Before using the heater check for gas
leaks. Use a soapy solution to check all gas
fittings and connections. Bubbles indicate
a leak.
1. Do not attempt to find the cause
yourself and turn o the gas supply.
2. Do not ignite any appliance.
3. Do not touch any electrical switch.
4. Evacuate the house immediately with
your family and pets, DO NOT start your
vehicle.
5. Leave the doors open for ventilation and
contact the gas supplier, registered LP
Gas Installer or Fire Department.
6. Stay away from the house (or building)
until the service call has been made,
the leak is fixed and the space has been
declared as safe.
7. Ask the installer to show you where the
gas shut-o valve is and how to use it.
8. Turn o the manual shut-o valve if the
gas appliance has been subjected to
overheating, fire, flood, physical damage
or if the gas supply fails to shut o.
WARNING
Never use an open flame to test for gas
leaks as this could result in property
damage, personal injury and
or death.

Installation instructions
1. Make sure your heater is connected to
the correct gas type before use.
2. Ensure the heater is plugged into a
reliable electrical source matching the
power requirments of the heater and in
compliance with local electrical laws.
3. Ensure your heater has been installed by
a qualified professional.
4. Ensure the heater has not been installed
in an existing fireplace.
IMPORTANT
The heater should not be installed near
flammible materials. It should be at least
1.5 meters away from curtains or other
potential hazards. Keeping in mind wind
may blow curtains towards the heater.
The heater should be at least 15cm clear
of side walls and should not be operated
where there is a draft from wind.
VENTILATION
REQUIREMENTS
Irrespective of room size, due
consideration should be given to the
fact that gas appliances use oxygen from
the surrounding air to fuel the flame and
this oxygen needs to be replenished
through ventilation. You should never
use any gas appliance in a sealed room.
Always consider using ventilation where
permanent ventilation has not been
installed.
25MJ Heaters should not be used in rooms
smaller than 100 meters cubed without
ventilation. This room size is approximately
6.5 x 6.5 x 2.4m
If the room size is not larger than 100m3
you will require permanent ventilation.
Two vents of 163cm2 should be installed
if the room is smaller than the specified
size, one vent at high level one vent at low
level.
15MJ Heaters should not be used in rooms
smaller than 60 meters cubed without
ventilation. This room size is approximately
5 x 5 x 2.4m
If the room size is not larger than 60m3
you will require permanent ventilation.
Two vents of 163cm2 should be installed
if the room is smaller than the specified
size, one vent at high level one vent at low
level.
A window is not considered permanent
ventilation.

Do not operate the appliance with the
panels or covers removed. Always unplug
the heater before cleaning or servicing it.
Regular visual inspections should be
done by the owner, this visual inspection
should consist of looking for any physical
damage to the cover, damage to the
electrical cable, damage to the display
screen or any other part of the heater, as
well as a gas leak test which can be done
with a spray bottle and soapy water on
the gas piping and connections to the
heater.
If you notice any black soet occuring
around the hot air outlet, discontinue use
immediatley and log a service call.
When the heater is cooling down after
use or heating up during use, occasional

result of mal-manufactoring.
The heater should be inspected by a
qualified professional every year. This
inspection should consist of gas pressure
tests, to ensure normal function of the
regulator, a visual flame inspection to
ensure there is complete combustion
with the flame.
A bright yellow flame is considerded
very dangerous and the cause for lack
of air supply to the burners should be
investigated and rectified immediately.
A flame lifting o the burner indicates
incomplete combustion and the cause for
too much oxygen to the burners should
be investigated and rectified immediately.
The installer should during this annual
inspection, check that any permanent
