IMPORTANT NOTES WHEN USING THE REZAP® PRO CHARGER:
•Charge onlyAlkaline,RAM (RechargeableAlkaline Manganese),NiCd
and NiMHbatteries.DO NOTcharge Carbon Zinc (such asthose withno
battery type printed on them or those labelled as SUPERHEAVY DUTY
or GENERAL PURPOSE) or primary Lithium batteries (such as those
used incameras,3V or 6Vand labelled –LITHIUM)inthischarger (Refer
toTable1fordetailsofvarious differentbatterytypesandhowto
recognize them). These unsupported batterytypes willbe rejected ornot
properlycharged if put intothe charger.
•Charge alkaline cellsbefore theygocompletelyflat. Ifthe cellsare
discharged beyond the pointofreturn (lessthan 0.9V),chances arethat
they will notbe revived properly.Mostelectronicdevices cutoffatthe0.9
voltlevel;however devices such as torches,radios,clocks,remote
controlsor thelike do havethe tendency todrainthebatteries completely.
•Alkaline cellsshouldbe disposed ofpromptlyiftheyare rejected bythe
charger (green lightturns offafterflashing) or theirservice lifeisvery
short after recharged.
•After batteries arecharged,onlybatteriesthatshowthe same voltage
strengthshouldbe used together. For alkaline batteries, usethose with
voltage strengthabove 1.44V together andfor rechargeablebatteries, use
those withvoltage strengthabove 1.30V together.Mixing weakor partially
charged withfullycharged batteries willresultinyourdevice not
functioning properlyornotpowering onatall.Also remember nottomix
different batterytypes together (eg: Alkalinewithrechargeable).
•For bestresults, charged alkaline cellsshouldbe promptlyremoved within
afewhours aftercharging iscompleted.Continuous connection tothe
metalplates (whether thechargerisONor OFF) for aprolonged period
willshorten batterylife.Recharged alkaline cellsshouldbe used as soon
as possibleas they are notsuitablefor long termstoragedue totheir
rapidself discharge.
ENGLISH

•Differentbrandsofalkaline cellsmay give differentresults,depending on
the chemicalcomposition usedinmaking thebatteries.Donotbe
surprised tofindthatsometopbrand alkaline cellsmay yieldfewercycle
lives than less well-knownbrands.Try differentbrands ofbatteriesand
decide for yourselfthebrands thatworkbestinyour applications and in
the REZAP®PRO charger.
•The charger hasfourmainslotswithfour corresponding greenlights.
Onlyputone battery per slot. Donottrytoputonebatteryon topof
another inasingleslot.
•9V alkaline batteries arenotcharged using“individualcell”technique due
totheirinternalstructure(multiplecellslinked together inseries togive a
higher batteryvoltage).Any faultor weakness amongstthecellscan
resultinthe battery beingpoorlyrecharged ornotuseableattimes.Do
not holdhigh expectation on thesebatteries.
•9V alkaline batteries when chargedtend toexpand slightlyattheir two
ends.Thisisnormalconsidering theirouter caseconstructions arenot
made asstrongasthose of 9V rechargeablebatteries.
•Cyclelifeisbasedonthebatteryreceiving proper care andalso depends
on the depthofdischarge.Ingeneral,shallowdischarges provide more
cycles than deep discharges.
CLEANING
Turn thepower off andunplug the power supplybefore cleaningofthe
charger.
•The PlasticBody can be cleaned withadamp clothand then wipeddry
withasoft cloth.Donot use any abrasive or solventson any plastic
surface.

EXTENDING BATTERYLIFE
•Keep extra batteries aroundforyourconvenience.Store batteries inadry
place atnormalroom temperature.
•When storing batteries, remove any load orshortcircuitfromtheir
terminals.
•When storing battery-powered devices for long periods (i.e.,more than a
month),remove the batteries.Thiscan preventdamage tothe device
from possiblebattery leakage. Also, the batteries can be used forother
applications whilethebatteries arestill "fresh".Batteries shouldalso be
removedfromequipmentwhileitisbeing powered byhousehold(AC)
current.
•When using single-cell rechargeableNiCdbatteries,besuretodischarge
the cell completelybeforerecharging it, thuscounteracting the "memory"
effect.
•Donotuse batteries inhigh-temperaturesituations (unless the batteryis
designed for thattemperature range).Store batteries as far away from
heatsources aspossible.The electricalpotentialofthebatterywill
degrade rapidlyifitisexposedtotemperatures higher thanthose
recommended bythe manufacturer.
•Followinstructions on your equipmentregarding properinsertion of
batteries, making sure thatthe (+) and (-)terminalsare aligned correctly.
•Remove worn-outbatteries fromequipmentimmediatelytoprevent
possibledamage from battery leakage.Always replace all batteries atthe
same time.Mixing oldand newbatteries or mixing types (suchas alkaline
withCarbon Zinc) will reduce overall performance and couldcause
leakage or rupture.

GENERALBATTERYSAFETY TIPS
•Donotshort-circuitabattery.Ashort-circuitmay cause severe damage to
the battery.
•Donotdrop, hitor otherwise abuse the battery asthismayresultinthe
exposure ofthe cell contents, which are corrosive.
•Donotincinerate,exposethe battery tomoisture,rainor sources of
extreme heat.
•Donotdispose ofbatteries inafire.The metalliccomponentsofthe
battery willnotburn and the burning electrolytemaysplatter, explode,or
release toxicfumes.
•Donotstore batteries looselyor carry themloose inyour pocketorpurse.
They can be shorted bycontact withmetal objectsand leak orrupture.
•Donotletyoungchildren play withbatteries,especiallybutton andor 9V
cells;these couldaccidentallybe swallowedor licked atandmay resultin
burns that mayrange fromsimplyuncomfortabletoserious.
•Donotallowdirectbodycontactwithbatterychemicals.Acidicoralkaline
electrolytecan cause skinirritation or burns. If acidicor alkaline
electrolytecontactsskinor clothing,wash immediatelywithsoap and
water.Ifitenterstheeye,immediatelyflood theeye withcoldrunning
water forat leastfifteen (15) minutes and seek medicalhelpimmediately.
