Congratulations on your new purchase and thank you for choosing Dihl.
Your new Dihl soup maker allows you to whip up soup easily and quickly. Read this user manual carefully
before you use the appliance and save it for future reference.

Read all instructions carefully before use.
Before first use, check to ensure the voltage indicated on the unit corresponds to the voltage of
your home.
Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, and keep away from hot surfaces
or naked flames.
Do not put the appliance in the refrigerator.
Do not lean the appliance or operate it upside down.
For indoor, domestic use only.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Keep away from children. Do not allow children to play with the unit.
To prevent electric shock or another injury, never immerse the appliance in water or any other
liquid, nor rinse it under the tap.
Only use the parts provided by Dihl with this appliance.
Be very careful when handling the blades or inserts.
Do not leave the appliance unattended when ins use.
If the cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by Dihl.

USING THE APPLIANCE
Using the Appliance
Ensure that the appliance is switched off and unplugged.
Wipe the unit down with a soft, damp cloth. Never immerse the main unit in water.
Note; on first use, there will be a slight odour. This will disappear after the first few uses. Please ensure that
there is enough ventilation for the appliance when in use.
Before First Use
Remove all packaging material.
Remove any stickers or labels from the appliance.
Clean the main body and all detachable parts.

Does the appliance work when the lid is removed?
No, if you remove the lid while cooking, you will need to put it back onto the jug within eight
minutes or the program will reset.
Can I use the appliance to make anything other than soup?
Yes, you can make smoothies, compotes, sauces and milk shakes.
Can I add meat to the appliance?
Yes, only with the ‘Chunky’ setting. All meat will need to be pre-cooked and chopped into smaller
pieces before adding to the soup maker.
Place the glass jug on a flat surface.
Remove the lid, be careful not to touch the blade. (Fig2)
Add a little oil to the bottom of the glass jug. This will prevent the ingredients from sticking to the jug.
Cut the ingredients of your choice to roughly 2-3cm cubes and place them into the glass jug.
Add the liquid or stock to the glass jug, making sure that the total volume is at least 800ml (MIN level)
but no more than 1400ml (MAX level). (Fig3)
Ensure that any stock added is cold. Stir the stock to ensure that it is evenly distributed.
Place the lid on the jug, ensure that it clicks into place (Fig5).
Plug the appliance into the socket, switch it on with the ON/OFF button and select your prefered
setting (Fig6 and Fig7).
Once finished ensuring that the programme has finished and switched the appliance off.
Carefully remove the lid and empty the soup into another container (Fig8). Allow the appliance to
cool down before cleaning.
Warning
If left idle for 10 seconds, the indicator lights will turn off, to reset it, press the ON/OFF button.
Do not use the appliance to reheat the soup, this will damage the heating element.

‘Smooth’
‘Chunky’
‘Blend’
Place the ingredients into the jug.
Select the ‘Smooth’ program.
The appliance will run for approximately 20-25 minutes.
In the final few minutes, the appliance will blend the ingredients for a smooth consistency.
Once the program has finished, the appliance will beep.
Note: this setting is not suitable for purees and pastes.

‘Pulse’
Place the ingredients into the jug.
Press and hold the ‘Pulse’ program. Do not hold this for longer than 30 seconds at a time.
Warning
Only use this function for fruits and vegetables.

Select the ‘Chunky’ program.
The appliance will run for approximately 30 minutes.
Once the program has finished, the appliance will beep.
You may need to blend after using this funtcion as the appliance does not do this automatically.
Note: ensure that the ingredients are cut up small for this setting as the blade does not rotate while
in use.

Place the ingredients into the jug.
Select the ‘Blend’ program.
The appliance will run for approximately 20 seconds and rest, this will continue six times.
Once the program has finished, the appliance will beep.
Note: do not use the blend function for dry ingredients and do not run more than one cycle without
letting the appliance cool down for five minutes first.

Do not remove the lid while the appliance is in use when the ‘Blend’ setting is selected.

If the lid is removed while cooking, it will carry on with the same setting. If the lid has been
removed for more than eight minutes, the setting will have to be selected again.
Using the Programmes
The ‘Blend’ setting will not heat the ingredients. This setting can be used to make smoothies, dips and
dressings etc. It can also be used to obtain a better consistency if you think the soup is too thick.

Warnings
Ensure that all dry ingredients are peeled, chopped, sliced or cubed before adding them to the
jug.
Ensure that the lid is secured properly before using the appliance.
The overfill sensor will need to be cleaned after each use.
When removing the lid after cooking, take extra care as there will a lot of hot steam and avoid
touching the blade.
Do not add frozen ingredients to the appliance.
Do not use uncooked meats or raw fish to make soup, they must be precooked before use.
Ensure you add all ingredients are added to the jug before selecting any settings as it may damage
the heating element.
Do not fill the ingredients above the ‘MAX’ level.
Always stir the ingredients before cooking, to avoid them sticking to the base of the jug.
Once the programs have finished, ensure that the appliance is switched off and unplugged before
emptying the jug.
Clean the appliance after every use.

Before cleaning, turn the appliance off and remove from the socket.
Never immerse the main body or the lid in water or under the tap (Fig1 and Fig2).
Wipe the appliance with a moist cloth. Note: you should use a dry cloth to clean the lid. (Fig3)
Clean the glass jug and the inside of the lid, rinse them in warm water to remove any remaining
soup.
The ‘Blend’ or ‘Pulse’ function can be used to remove any stubborn stains. To do this, add 1200ml
of hot water with a small amount of washing up liquid.
Place the lid on and use the ‘Blend’ function until the stain has gone.
Note: for tough stains, leave the jug to soak in warm water for roughly 10-15 minutes before
cleaning.
Caution: the blades under the lid are not removable and are very sharp so take extra care when
cleaning the lid.

The ‘Blend’ setting will automatically stop after roughly 150 seconds to
avoid over-heating. Allow the appliance to cool down before using
again.
Check and clean the overfill sensor.
Follow the ‘Cleaning’ section of the user manual.
The soup maker has shit off due to over-heating and has reset, allow
time for the appliance to cool down before use.

Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste at the end of its life; hand it in at
