Time. It goes so fast... Who would have thought that nearly two decades
have passed since we first stepped out into the world and started a
business dedicated to family travel.
Well the world has changed a lot, but we’re proud to say that we haven’t,
(sure we’ve grown up), but we’re still as passionate about what we do
today as we were back then.
Our story is ‘made of Seattle’, a city like no other. This is a place where

SAFE USE GUIDE
WARNING  Carefully read and understand all instructions
and warnings in this manual, and those labeled on your Child
Restraint. Failure to do so can result in the SERIOUS INJURY or
DEATH of your child.
SAFE USE REQUIREMENTS:
This Child Restraint is designed for use ONLY with children who weigh
between 40–120 lb (18–54 kg) AND whose height is between 38–63 in.
(97–160 cm).
Use ONLY the vehicle lap and shoulder belt system when restraining the
child in this booster seat. DO NOT use a lap belt only!
CERTIFICATIONS:
This Child Restraint System conforms to all applicable Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS 213) and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety
Standards (CMVSS 213.2). This child restraint is certified for use in passenger
cars, multi-purpose passenger vehicles, and trucks ONLY.
THIS RESTRAINT IS NOT CERTIFIED FOR USE IN AIRCRAFT.
Aircraft seats do not have shoulder belts which are required for use with
this booster seat.
DO NOT PLACE A CHILD RESTRAINT IN THE FRONT
SEAT OF A VEHICLE WITH A PASSENGER AIR BAG.
DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY MAY OCCUR.
WARNING!
If an air bag inates, it can hit the child or child restraint with
enough force to cause serious injury or death to your child.
The back seat is the safest place for children 12 and under.
Refer to your vehicle owner’s manual for information on your
child restraint installation.
According to accident statistics, children are safer when properly
restrained in the rear seating positions than in the front seating positions.
The safest seating position is one that works best for your specific child
restraint, family and vehicle model.
NEVER leave child restraint unsecured in your vehicle even when it is
unoccupied. It could injure other occupants in a sudden stop or collision.

• Read all instructions before using this child restraint. Keep instructions
stored underneath the booster seat base for future use.
• Before installing this child restraint in a vehicle, be sure to also check
the vehicle owner’s manual for information on proper installation.
• DO NOT use child restraint in any configuration not shown in the
• instructions.
• Use ONLY with children who weigh between 40–120 lb (18–54 kg)
and whose height is between 38–63 in (97–160 cm).
• Use ONLY the vehicle lap and shoulder belt system when restraining
the child in this booster seat.
• NEVER use with ONLY a vehicle lap belt to restrain a child. This could
result in serious injury or death.
• ALWAYS make sure the vehicle seat belt can properly retract before each use.
• NEVER leave your child unattended.
• DO NOT use this booster seat in any configuration not shown in the instructions.
• NEVER install in rear facing, side facing or on the back of a folded
down vehicle seat.
• ALWAYS install this booster seat in the rear vehicle seat.
• DO NOT use this booster seat unless there is vehicle headrest for that
seating position.
• DO NOT use this booster seat with any other cushions.
• ALWAYS secure the booster seat using the vehicle belt or LATCH
connectors even when it is unoccupied. It could injure other
occupants in a sudden stop or crash.
• DO NOT use any accessories, inserts or products not included with
this booster seat, unless approved by Diono. Items not tested with
this booster seat could injure your child.
• DO NOT modify your booster seat.
• NEVER provide this booster seat to another person without also
providing them with the instruction manual.

EXPIRATION
• DO NOT use the child restraint if any part is damaged or broken,
expired (over 8 years from date of purchase), missing instructions,
missing parts, or if the straps are cut, frayed, or damaged in any way.
Call 1-855-463-4666 to find out if the damaged part or parts can be
replaced.
SAFE PRACTICES
• DO NOT leave loose objects, such as books, bags, etc., in the back of
the vehicle. In the event of a sharp turn, sudden stop, or crash, loose
objects can be thrown around and possibly cause serious injury to
vehicle occupants.
• DO NOT use with hot liquids as this could burn a child.
• ALWAYS check all surfaces of restraint before securing your child. In
warm weather, child restraints can become very hot. Do not allow
children to play with vehicle seat belts.
• Some vehicle seat belt systems cannot be used with this booster seat.
Read vehicle owner’s manual and “Vehicle Seat Belt Systems” section
of this manual.
WARNING!
DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur.
Before installing this child restraint you must determine the method of
installation and the best vehicle seating position for that method.
When determining whether the child restraint can be used with vehicle
Universal Anchorage System (UAS) anchors in the rear center seating
position, it is critical that you refer to your vehicle owner’s instruction
book. If the child restraint does not install best in the rear center seating
location, it is recommended to move to one of the
outboard seating positions

• DO NOT USE THIS CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM IF IT HAS BEEN IN A
VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
• Transport Canada designates that you MUST replace this child
restraint if it has been involved in a collision, even if you cannot see
visible damage. A damaged child restraint may not protect your child
in a future collision.
CAR SEAT USE AFTER A COLLISION – CANADA
UNITED STATES
The U.S. National Highway Trac Safety Administration (NHTSA)
recommends that car seats be replaced following a MODERATE or
SEVERE collision in order to ensure a continued high level of collision
protection for child passengers.
Car seats do not automatically need to be replaced following a MINOR
collision. NHTSA defines a MINOR collision as ALL of the following:
• The vehicle was able to be driven away from the collision site; AND
• The vehicle door nearest the car seat was not damaged; AND
• No vehicle occupants were injured; AND
• There is no visible damage to the car seat; AND
• The airbags (if present) did not deploy.
NEVER use a car seat that has been involved in a MODERATE or SEVERE
collision.

PARTS VEHICLE SEAT BELT SYSTEMS
IMPORTANT: Some vehicle seat belt systems cannot be
used with this booster seat.
1. ALWAYS install this booster seat in vehicle seats with
3-point (Lap and Shoulder) belts.
2. ALWAYS secure this booster seat by attaching the
lower anchors in vehicle seats when available when
using the 3-point (Lap and Shoulder) belts.
3. DO NOT install this booster in vehicle seats with a Lap
Belt Only.
4. DO NOT install this booster in vehicle seats with
Motorized (Automatic) Vehicle Lap and Shoulder Belts.
5. DO NOT install this booster in vehicle seats with Door
Mounted Vehicle Belts.

LOWER ANCHOR INSTALLATION
WARNING! Unsecured objects can become flying hazards and can cause
serious injury in an accident. If your vehicle is equipped with lower
anchors, Diono always recommends installation utilizing the LATCH
connectors with this booster seat.
To improve safety and performance, this booster seat
is equipped with a lower anchorage system that allows
secure attachment to a vehicle’s lower anchor locations.
1. Disengage LATCH connectors from storage slots
and lay booster seat on its side. While depressing the
cam lock lever, pull LATCH connectors away from
the booster seat and extend both straps all the way.
2. Attach both LATCH connectors to the vehicle
anchors, starting with the connector that is
furthest from you. For ease of use, make sure
open end of hooks face upward during use.
3. While pushing booster against vehicle seat, pull
one adjuster strap tight and then the other. Make
sure that both LATCH connectors are securely
attached to the vehicles lower anchors.
NOTE: Even with LATCH connectors properly attached
and adjusted, child seat will still have movement
against the vehicle seat back and bottom.

LOWER ANCHOR REMOVAL
DISENGAGING LOWER ANCHOR INSTALLATION
Follow the previous instructions in reverse order.
1. Reach under the bottom of the booster seat and depress the cam
lock lever while pulling the seat away from the vehicle seat back until
the lower anchor straps are extended all the way.
2. Disconnect LATCH connectors from vehicle anchors.
3. Pull lower anchor adjuster straps to recess the LATCH connectors
into the back of the booster seat bottom for safe storage.
IMPORTANT: Do not use LATCH if installation interferes with vehicle
seat belt.

1. Properly position child: sitting upright and all the
way back in the booster seat.
2. Fasten seat belt across child.
3. Make sure seat belt is not twisted and lays flat
across child’s hips, torso and shoulder.
4. Tighten the seat belt by pulling the diagonal
shoulder belt portion in the direction of the arrows.
NEVER position the shoulder belt loosely or under the child’s arm or
behind their back.
ALWAYS make sure the shoulder belt is positioned underneath the
booster seat armrest.

around child, it is important to confirm correct seat belt buckle position to
ensure secure installation.

USING THE SHOULDER BELT GUIDE STRAP
WARNING! If the diagonal seat belt portion does not correctly fit the
child, then the seat must be used with the shoulder belt guide strap or
with the seatback portion attached and properly adjusted to fit the child.
1. Remove shoulder belt guide strap from storage
area underneath seat.
2. Position child correctly in seat as per the prior
instructions in the manual, making sure lap and
shoulder belts are positioned properly across
child.
3. Attach the red shoulder belt guide strap onto the diagonal shoulder belt.
4. Adjust strap to correct length, so that the red guide is just above shoulder.
SECURING THE CHILD
Cup holders are located on both sides of the seat
bottom.
Swivel outward to the locked position for use.
Swivel inward to the recessed and locked position
when not in use.
CAUTION: DO NOT use with hot liquids as this could
burn a child.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT step on or put excess weight on the cup holder
which could cause it to break.

REMOVING THE COVER
1. Separate seat back section from seat bottom section.
2. Remove plastic fasteners and elastics that secure fabric cover to
seat bottom, seat back and head rest.
3. Remove fabric cover pieces from the booster seat sections.
DO NOT use solvents, detergents or any other chemical or cleaning agent.
DO NOT lubricate any part of the seat.

WARRANTY
LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY This product is warranted against physical defects
in materials or workmanship as a result of normal use for one year from the date of
original retail purchase. Proof of purchase is required. The exclusive remedy for this
warranty is that Diono will upon return of the product to Diono and determination of
any such defect, at its sole option replace, repair or provide replacement
components for this product. Diono reserves the right to discontinue or change
fabrics, parts, models or products, or to make substitutions. To make a claim under
this warranty, contact Diono Customer Care at 1-855-463-4666 (7:00 am to 5:00 pm PST.)
WARRANTY LIMITATIONS This warranty does not include damages which arise
from negligence, misuse or use of the product not in accordance with the product
instruction. The use of non-Diono covers, inserts, toys, accessories, or tightening
devices is not approved by Diono. Their use could cause a restraint product to fail
Federal Safety Standards or perform worse in a crash. Their use automatically voids
the Diono warranty.
DIONO MAKES NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND OR NATURE,
EXCEPT THOSE STATED IN THIS POLICY. DIONO DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER
WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND
NON INFRINGEMENT.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO
EVENT SHALL DIONO OR ITS THIRD PARTY SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY
SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER,
WHETHER BASED ON TORT, CONTRACT OR OTHER LEGAL THEORY, ARISING OUT
OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT, EVEN IF DIONO HAS BEEN
ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. BECAUSE SOME STATES DO
NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL
OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY. IN NO EVENT
WILL DIONO BE OBLIGATED TO PAY DAMAGES TO ORIGINAL RETAIL PURCHASER

Cette retenue pour enfants est conçue pour utilisation UNIQUEMENT
avec des enfants pesant entre 18 et 54 kg (40 et 120 lb) ET ceux dont la
hauteur se situe entre 97 et 160 cm (38 et 63 po).

ou le système de retenue avec susamment de force pour

Le siège arrière est le meilleur endroit pour les enfants de
12 ans et moins. Pour les véhicules dotés de coussins
gonables latéraux, veuillez vous référer au manuel de
votre véhicule pour les informations sur l’installation de
système de retenue pour enfant.

attachés dans les sièges arrière plutôt que dans les sièges avant.La position
la plus sécuritaire du siège d’auto est celle qui convient le mieux à votre

• Fixez TOUJOURS le siège d’appoint à l’aide de la ceinture de véhicule ou le
dispositif universel d’ancrages d’attaches inférieurs même si le siège n’est pas
occupé. Le siège peut blesser les autres occupants du véhicule en cas d’arrêt
soudain ou d’un accident.
• N’utilisez PAS tout accessoire, option ou produit non inclus avec ce
siège d’appoint, à moins qu’approuvé par Diono. Les articles non
testés avec ce siège d’appoint peuvent blesser votre enfant.
• N’utilisez PAS ce siège d’appoint s’il a été impliqué dans un accident automobile.
Vous DEVEZ remplacer ce siège d’appoint s’il a été impliqué dans un accident,
même s’il n’y a pas de dommages visibles au siège. Un siège d’appoint
endommagé peut ne pas protéger votre enfant lors d’un accident futur.

EXPIRATION
• NE PAS utiliser le dispositif de retenue pour enfant si une pièce est
endommagée ou brisée, s’il est expiré (plus de 8 ans se sont écoulés
depuis la date d’achat), des instructions sont manquantes, des
pièces sont manquantes, ou si les sangles sont coupées, elochées
ou endommagées. Appelez 1-866-954-9786 pour savoir si la partie
endommagée ou les pièces peuvent être remplacées.
PRATIQUES SÉCURITAIRES
• NE PAS llaisser des objets tels que des livres, des sacs, etc., à l’arrière
du véhicule. En cas d’un virage abrupt, d’un arrêt brusque ou d’un
accident, des objets pourraient être projetés et causer des blessures
graves aux occupants du véhicule.
• N’utilisez PAS le siège avec des liquides chauds, car cela pourrait brûler l’enfant.
• TOUJOURS vérifier toutes les surfaces de retenue avant de sécuriser
votre enfant. Par temps chaud, les mécanismes de verrouillage
peuvent devenir très chauds. Ne laissez pas les enfants jouer avec
les ceintures de sécurité du véhicule.
• Certains systèmes de ceinture de siège de véhicule ne peuvent pas être
utilisés avec ce siège d’appoint. Lisez le manuel du propriétaire du véhicule

Avant d’installer ce dispositif de retenue pour enfant, vous devez
déterminer la méthode d’installation et le siège le plus adapté du véhicule
pour cette méthode.
Pour déterminer si le siège d’auto peut être utilisé avec les ancrages de
véhicules DUA sur le siège arrière central, il est essentiel que vous
consultiez le livret d’instructions de votre véhicule. Si le siège d’auto ne
peut être installé sur le siège arrière central,
il est recommandé de le placer dans un
des sièges latéraux.

IMPLIQUÉ DANS UN ACCIDENT DE VOITURE.
• Transports Canada stipule qu’il FAUT remplacer un siège d’auto pour
enfant s’il a été impliqué dans une collision, même s’il ne présente pas
de signes visibles de dommage. Un siège endommagé pourrait ne pas
protéger adéquatement l’enfant dans une autre collision. Un système
de retenue d'enfant endommagé pourrait ne pas protéger votre enfant
dans un futur accident.
ÉTATS-UNIS – UTILISATION D’UN SIÈGE D’AUTO POUR ENFANT APRÈS
UNE COLLISION
Aux États-Unis, la National Highway Trac Safety Administration
(NHTSA) recommande de remplacer tout siège d’auto pour enfant à la
suite d’une collision modérée ou grave afin de maintenir un niveau élevé
de protection pour l’enfant en cas de collision. 
Il n’est pas obligatoire de remplacer un siège d’auto pour enfant à la
suite d’une collision LÉGÈRE. La NHTSA définit une collision LÉGÈRE
comme une collision répondant à TOUS les critères suivants:
• On a pu conduire le véhicule pour quitter la scène de l’accident; ET
• La portière du véhicule la plus proche du siège d’auto pour enfant
n’a pas été endommagée; ET
• Aucun des occupants du véhicule n’a été blessé; ET
• Le siège d’auto pour enfant ne présente aucun dommage visible; ET
• Les coussins gonflables (si le véhicule en est doté) ne se sont pas
déployés.
NE JAMAIS UTILISER un siège d’auto pour enfant qui a été impliqué
dans une collision modérée ou grave. 

SYSTÈMES DE CEINTURE DE SIÈGE DE VÉHICULE
IMPORTANT: Certains systèmes de ceinture de siège de
véhicule ne peuvent pas être utilisés avec ce siège d’appoint.
1. Installez TOUJOURS ce siège d’appoint dans des
sièges de véhicule avec des ceintures en 3points
(abdominale et diagonale).
2. Fixez TOUJOURS ce siège d’appoint grâce aux fixations
inférieures des sièges de véhicule lorsque disponibles
lors de l’utilisation de ceintures en 3points
(abdominale et diagonale).
3. N’installez PAS ce siège d’appoint dans des sièges de
véhicule avec uniquement une ceinture abdominale.
4. N’installez PAS ce siège d’appoint dans des sièges de
véhicule avec des ceintures abdominales et diagonales
de véhicule motorisées (automatiques).
5. N’installez PAS ce siège d’appoint dans des sièges de
véhicule avec des ceintures de véhicule montées à la porte.
