Safety instructions and precautions

• The appliance must be cleaned before use.
• Under no circumstance should you place the DRB40 in water.
Never place the motor base under running water.
• Never wash the appliance in a dishwasher.
• Do not use water on the control panel, connectors or the motor
base.
• Wipe the outside surface with a damp cloth and gently dry
it.
• Only the blades and inside the container can be cleaned with hot
water and liquid dishwashing detergent.
• DRB40 is designed for domestic indoor use only.
• DRB40 must be used on dry, at, heat-resistant surfaces.

• Handle the (very sharp) blades with extreme care to avoid injury.
The blades are not removable.
• Do not touch the appliance's hot surfaces while it is operating, as
they can cause scalding and burns.
• Steam can escape from the DRB40 and cause scalding and burns.
• Always hold the appliance with both hands by the motor base and
side handle. The container surface can overheat after use and can
cause scalding and burns.
• Always unplug your appliance as soon as you nish using it, be-
fore cleaning it or in the event of a power failure. Do not unplug
your appliance by pulling the power cord.
• Do not use your appliance if it does not operate correctly, if it has
been damaged or if the cord or plug are damaged. If the power
cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by
a qualied person to avoid danger.
• Take into account the container's minimum and maximum limits.
• Never operate the appliance empty, with only dry ingredients or
frozen ingredients. Never pour boiling liquids into the appliance.
• Do not carry the appliance by the lid as it could fall.
• Never move the appliance while it is operating.
• Do not use the container in a microwave.

• Wait for the appliance to cool down before handling or cleaning it.
• Some ingredients may leave an overcooked or burnt residue on
the bottom of the container. If that were the case, add hot water
with a couple of drops of liquid dishwashing detergent to the
container, leave for 15 minutes and then rinse.
• Always rinse the container and blades after cleaning.
• This appliance is not intended to be used by children or any per-
son with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use
of the device from a person responsible for their safety.
• Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
• The appliance must be kept out of the reach of children and an-
imals.
• Children should not clean or perform maintenance on the appli-
ance without supervision.
• The appliance must be kept out of the reach of children and ani-
mals while switched on.
• The appliance must not be used if it has suered a fall or pres-
ents visible signs of damage.
• Do not pull, lift or move the appliance by the power cable.
• Keep the power cable away from sources of heat.

• Only use the power cord supplied by the manufacturer.
• Never use the appliance if the plug, power cable or appliance
itself are damaged.
• To protect against the risk of electrical shock, do not place liquid
in the power plug or on the appliance's control panel.
• Do not touch the power plug or the appliance with wet hands.
• Make sure your power supply voltage matches the power volt-
age marked on the appliance.
• Only use accessories recommended or supplied by the manu-
facturer.
• Wait until the appliance completely stops before removing the
container.
• Store the appliance away from heat and ammable materials.
• Do not use the appliance in extremely hot or cold environments
(below 0˚C, above 40˚C).
• Store the appliance in a safe, dry place, at a temperature be-
tween 0°C and 40°C.
• DRB40 is not designed to be used in the following cases, which
are not covered by the warranty:
- In kitchen areas, reserved for sta in shops, oces and other
workplace environments.
- By patrons of hotels or other environments of a residential
nature.
- In guesthouse-type environments.

Before rst use
Clean the appliance before the rst use.
Add 1 l water to the container, using the measurements marked
on the side as a guide. Select the Cereals and starch-based dishes
setting, then press the ON/OFF button. Once the programme has
nished, empty the container and dry it. Always handle the inside of
the container with care, the blades are extremely sharp.
Do not pour water on the outside of the container and the connectors.
Clean the outside container surface and motor base with a damp
cloth, then gently dry them.
Under no circumstance should you place the appliance in water.
Never place liquid on the motor base, control panel or power plug.
The appliance must be completely dry before use.
NOTE: The appliance is not dishwasher safe so it must not be cleaned in a
dishwasher, as this would damage it.

Place the appliance on a solid, at, dry surface.
Set the container on the motor base and align the connectors (Figure
1). Chop the ingredients into cubes and place them in the container.
Respect the maximum and minimum levels when adding ingredients
(Figure 2). Lock the lid and lid plug in place (Figure 3).
Plug the appliance into the power supply using the power cable
(Figure 4). The appliance beeps. 00:00 appears on the display screen,
the Multigrain milk pre-programmed setting and ON/OFF indicator
lights ash.
NOTES:
• If the recipe contains meat, you are recommended to place the meat in the
container rst.
• The container has a maximum capacity of 1400ml in Hot mode and 1750ml in
Cold mode.

Selecting a pre-programmed setting

Rotate the dial to select the desired pre-programmed setting. The
indicator light ashes to display the selected pre-programmed
setting.
Press the ON/OFF button to start the appliance. If you selected a
pre-programmed setting that cooks, the appliance starts with a pre-
heating stage (Figure 1).
NOTES:
• To cancel a pre-programmed setting, press the ON/OFF button within the rst
minute of it starting. After one (1) minute, press the ON/OFF button for several
seconds. Then select a new pre-programmed setting by rotating the dial.
• When the pre-programmed setting has nished, the appliance beeps ve (5)
times and the indicator lights and ON/OFF button ash. The appliance switches
to stand-by.
• If you remove the container in the middle of the programme, the appliance
stops and beeps.
• To add ingredients in the middle of the programme, remove the lid plug and
add the ingredients into the opening. Be aware of the risk of splashing.
• Do not add ingredients to the container during a blending stage.
• Depending on the pre-programmed heating setting selected, the pre-heating
stage may vary.

thanks to this setting which blends
and heats the ingredients at the same
time. To start this setting, rotate the
dial until the Multigrain milk indicator
light ashes. Then press the ON/OFF
button.
Cereals and
starch-based
dishes
Yes AUTO
This setting prepares pasta, rice and
other starch-based dishes. Rotate the
dial to select the setting and then press
the ON/OFF button.
Soup Yes AUTO
This setting is perfect for making
vitamin-rich soups. Select the setting
by rotating the dial, then press the ON/
OFF button.
Creamy soup Yes AUTO
This setting cooks and evenly blends
cream of vegetable soups. Rotate the
dial until the setting's indicator light
ashes and press the ON/OFF button.

Porridge Yes AUTO
This setting evenly blends and cooks
the ingredients added to the container,
achieving a healthy breakfast. Rotate
the dial then conrm your selection by
pressing the ON/OFF button.
Milkshake No AUTO
Prepare smooth chilled or frozen fruit/
vegetable milkshakes with this cold
blending setting.
Shaved ice No AUTO This setting blends ice cubes or any
type of frozen fruit.
Fresh juice No AUTO
The Juice setting is perfect for
preparing fruit/vegetable juices. This
setting does not heat or cook the
ingredients in the container.
Pulse / Clean No
Manual -
Speed 1 to
9 + H (Max.
speed for
cleaning)
The Pulse setting adjusts the
consistency of the recipe you are
preparing and quickly blends your
ingredients. The blade rotation speed
can be adjusted by rotating the dial.
This button can also be used to clean
your appliance with liquid dishwashing
detergent. Add water and a couple of
drops of liquid dishwashing detergent
to the container. Press the pre-
programmed setting button and rotate
the dial to select "H". Start cleaning by
pressing the ON/OFF button.

Temperature Yes Manual –
40°C-100°C
This setting allows you to manually
adjust the temperature or reheat your
dishes. Adjust the temperature by
rotating the dial and pressing the ON/
OFF button to start.
Delayed start / Manual –
1h-12h
With this setting you can delay when
the appliance starts. Select the hour/
minutes the appliance will wait before
it starts by rotating the dial (15-minute
intervals), then press ON/OFF.
NOTE: The delayed start function only works with Multigrain milk, Cereals and
starch-based dishes, Soup, Creamy soup and Porridge pre-programmed settings.
Stopping the appliance
Unplug the appliance before handling it. Remove the container by
taking hold of its handle, remove the lid plug and lid, and serve.

Container
To eectively clean the appliance, add water and a little liquid
dishwashing detergent to the container. Close the lid and select
the Pulse/Clean setting. Press the Pulse/Clean button then select H
speed by rotating the dial. Then press the ON/OFF button and let the
appliance complete its 3-minute cleaning programme. Lastly, rinse
the container with clean water.
Clean the blades with a thick sponge to remove any stuck-on food.
Handle the appliance with caution to avoid any type of injury.
Clean the outside surface of the motor base with a damp cloth and
then gently dry it.
NOTES:
• Rotating blades are sharp and can cause severe injury.
• The appliance is not dishwasher safe. When rinsing, take care not to pour any
liquid outside of the container.
• It is important to wait for the appliance to cool down before cleaning it.
• Do not use metal utensils to clean the bottom of the container.
Motor base
Clean the outside surface of the motor base with a damp cloth and
then gently dry it.
Remove the sealing ring and rinse it under clean water. It is import-
ant to wait until it is completely dry before putting it back on the
appliance.
NOTE: Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.

• If the appliance has been dropped, damaged or if the motor has
come into contact with water.
• If the power cable is damaged.
