QUICK SETUP GUIDE
for T6609BK

Congratulations on your purchase of a DURABRAND TV-Video Combi. This Quick Setup Guide takes
you through the first-time setup with simple instructions so you can enjoy exceptional audio and video
quality as soon as possible. Please refer to the Owner's manual for detailed instructions. If you have read
your instructions and still need assistance, call ASDA helpline at 0845-300-7775.
Unless stated, all procedures described use the remote control.
Connection
•Connecting the TV-Video Combi
Note: If the little red STANDBY indicator on the front panel does not light on, power on the unit with the
main power switch. The main power switch is located on the left side panel.
•Connecting Additional Devices
Connect other devices such as a decoder, satellite receiver, camcorder, etc.
Loading Batteries in the Remote Control
Install two R6 batteries matching the polarity indicated inside the battery compartment.
Caution
Do not mix old and new batteries. (Also never mix alkaline batteries with manganese batteries.)
Setting the Clock
Set the 24-hour clock.
Note:
• Although seconds are not displayed, they begin counting from 00 when you exit by pressing .
Use this feature to synchronize the clock with the correct time.
• If the unit is unplugged or if there is a power failure for more than 1 minute, you may have to reset the
clock.
Channel Setting (Automatic Channel Preset)
DO NOT use this feature if you intend to use some of the pre-tuned channels. Use the “Manual” channel
presetting function to tune in the additional channels you require. Refer to the User’s Manual for more
information.
Note: After you have connected additional devices (satellite receiver, etc.) through the aerial cable,
power them on. The automatic channel search will recognize them and save them.
WARNING! Never make or change connections with the power switched on.
1. Insert the anntena cable plug into the
AERIAL socket.
2. Plug the unit into an AC outlet.

3. Select “CLOCK”. 4. Select “YEAR” and then select the relevant
year.
5. Select the month, day, hour and minute
in the same way. 6. Press to exit.

Basic TV Function
•To Select a Desired Channel
Using the Satellite Receiver
You can receive channels from the satellite receiver via the EXT1/AV1 scart socket.
To do this, select the channel number “AV1” by pressing , , on the remote control. You will
have to select the channel you want to receive on the satellite receiver itself.
To Select EXT1/AV1 Input
Press , , on the remote control. “AV1” appears on the screen.
To Select AUDIO/VIDEO Input
Press , , on the remote control. “AV2” appears on the screen.

You can set 8 programmes to record on specific days, daily or weekly within a 1 year period.

Select a channel using PROG +/-, or by
pressing the number buttons on the remote
control.
To select channel 6, press then .
You can only select channels 1–99.
•Basic Playback
1. Put a cassette into the cassette slot.
2. Press .
3. To stop playback, press .
4. To eject the cassette, press on the unit.
•Fast Forward and Rewind
1. Press .
