Rev. 12 28
DAILY OPERATOR RUNNING CHECKS:
These tasks should be performed at the beginning of each shift and checked between roll changes:
GENERAL RUNNING INFORMATION
• Drain the Filter Water Separator Bowl if any water is present.
WARNING: DO NOT ALLOW BOWL TO BECOME FULL, CHECK HOURLY.
• Clean the machine and surrounding area of product buildup. f the machine is dusty or dirty, blow
off machine with compressed air (do not let any dust, dirt, or water get into the Electrical Panel).
WEEKLY:
These tasks should be done on a weekly schedule:
• Check tension and tracking of product feed conveyor belt. Tension or track if required.
• nspect product gate air cylinder for leakage or wear. Replace as necessary.
• Check all gearbox’s for proper lubrication fill level.
• Clean machine thoroughly to remove any product buildup which could jam moving parts on
the machine.
• Lubricate all Slide Mechanisms.
• nspect the machine for wear. Belts, Bearings, etc. Replace parts if necessary.
• Check the machine for loose hardware. Nuts, Bolts, Screws, etc. Tighten if necessary.
• Check leveling wheel assembly for loose hardware (clamp hub, bearing setscrews, paddle
bolts).
SEASONAL MAINTENANCE:
These maintenance tasks should be performed before each packaging season:
• Replace product feed conveyor belt.
• Replace product gate air cylinder.
• Replace leveling wheel cleaning flap.
• nspect all motors, and gearboxes for wear.
• Check all Bearings and replace any that do not operate smoothly.
• Lubricate all Slide Mechanisms.
• Change all gearbox lube.

2090 MAINTENANCE & OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS AND SCHEDULES
DAILY OPERATOR RUNNING CHECKS
These tasks should be performed at the beginning of each shift and checked between roll changes:
TO START MACHINE
Turn Main Disconnect power “ON”
Verify minimum of 80 psi Air to the machine.
Pull all E-stops out.
Verify the Temperature Controllers are up to proper temperature (not alarmed).
Select Hand or Auto Mode.
Press Start.
TO SHUTDOWN MACHINE
Turn the Top Sealer Switch to the "Off" position.
WARNING: Allow approximately 10 minutes for air to continue to flow through the Heat Plenums
cooling the Heat Elements properly to avoid warping of the Heat Plenums and guard against
heat damage to the Film Feed Belts before turning the Main Disconnect to the “OFF”
position.
Turn the Main Disconnect to the “OFF” position.
VERTICAL HEAT SEALER
Scrape plastic buildup off Vertical Hot Knife with the Hamer Hot Knife Scraper only.
Check the Teflon paper for plastic buildup and clean, if necessary.
Check Teflon paper for wear and rotate, if necessary.
Check the Silicone Rubber Clamping Tubes for plastic buildup and clean with rubbing Alcohol, if
necessary. Replace if any rips or tears are visible.
Adjust temperature as necessary to achieve clean, string-free seal.
BELT PATH
Check for plastic jammed in Pulleys and around Fill Opening. Remove, if necessary.
Check Film Feed Belts for plastic buildup. Clean, if necessary.
Film should ride ½” to ¾” above belts, adjust Roll Holder as necessary.
Are the correct number of belt path pulleys installed in the Staged Bag area for the bag size you are
running? You should have the maximum number of pulleys in FULL contact during staged bag.
None
beyond the end of the bag, not in FULL contact.
Daily, do a visual check to make sure every pulley moves. Verify none of the pulleys are locked up.
Verify Felt Lubricator is wet to lubricate the bag through the jaws.

HORIZONTAL HOT AIR SEALER
Check Hot Air Plenums for plastic buildup. Scrape clean, if necessary.
Check Film Feed Belts. Pulleys and Bearings for wear or tear and replace, if necessary.
Check for plastic jammed in Pulleys. Remove, if necessary.
Check Film Feed Belts for plastic buildup. Clean, if necessary.
Verify Hot Air Sealer is in the correct location (adjust Hot Air Sealer location so the leading edge of
the Staged Bag, lines up with the trailing edge of the Nip Roller Pivot Block).
GENERAL RUNNING INFORMATION
Drain the Filter Water Separator Bowl if any water is present.
WARNING: DO NOT ALLOW BOWL TO BECOME FULL, CHECK HOURLY.
Check that air supply is at least 80psi while running.
Clean the machine and surrounding area of product buildup. If machine is dusty or dirty, blow off
machine with compressed air (do not let any dust, dirt, or water get into the Electrical Panel).
Check alignment of bag in the fill opening (adjust eye as necessary)
Check alignment of side seal to bag registration (adjust knife location)
Check alignment of perforation to side seal (adjust perf to be lined up with side seal)
Is the bag being filled to the proper volume or weight?
Is the eye located at the correct height (vertically) to sense the center of the eye mark?
Are conveyor heights adjusted to support some of the weight of the bag?
Are the conveyors adjusted up-stream/down-stream correctly to the staged bag location?
(The leading edge of the staged bag should not be touching the Hot Air Sealer Conveyor).
WEEKLY:
These tasks should be done on a weekly schedule:
Clean machine thoroughly to remove any product buildup or plastic bits, which could jam moving
parts on the machine.
Lubricate all Slide Mechanisms.
Grease the following (w/zerks only) Bearings, Drive Bearings, Roll Brake Bearings, Conveyor
Bearings and Vertical Heat Seal Bearings.
Inspect the machine for wear: Belts, Bearings, Heat Sealers, etc. Replace parts if necessary.
Check the machine for loose hardware: Nuts, Bolts, Screws, etc. Tighten if necessary.
Tension all drive chains and belt drives.
Closely inspect all belt path and hot air sealer pulleys for free rotation. Verify none of the bearings
are tight or seized.
Verify pinch pulleys around the fill opening are properly adjusted for pinch. These pulleys should
tightly pinch bag.
Verify pinch pulleys around the fill opening, are centered to the belt path. (If these are off, it’s
possible one side of the bag will pull ahead of the other causing bad side seals, and bad top seals).
Verify fill opening jaws are centered to the belt path.
Inspect all film feed belts for damage, or wear. Replace as necessary.
Confirm side seal back stop is centered to belt path.
Inspect all cylinders in BOTH directions for seal leaks. Replace as necessary.
Verify Side Seal knife back up is aligned to belt path. Should be 1/8” behind belt path centerline.
Note if you move the knife back-up, verify it gets adjusted properly to make full contact with the hot
knife.

Lubricate all Slide Mechanisms.
Check all Air Cylinders for any air leaks and replace or rebuild Cylinders as needed.
Check Chains and Sprockets for proper tension or wear and replace if needed.
Verify all areas of the machine are set back to the original manufactures specifications. Use the
Machine Adjustment section of this manual for set-up instructions.
Check belt lagging on conveyor rollers for wear (replace if needed).
Check oil level in the gear boxes (add oil if needed).
Check sprockets for wear (replace if needed).
