bedownloadedfromtheVibrationRecorderProductPageontheDytranWebsite.

Therearetwoadditionalinstallationsthatarerequiredpriortoinstallingthe9009software.InstallData
Plug‐insbyclickingthebuttonontheAutorunmenu.Thiswillinstallplug‐insfordataexport.
Toinstalltheruntimesoftware,clickon9009tostarttheinstallationofthe90094401AXVibraCorder
software.Makesurethatnootherapplicationsareopenandproceed.
1. Whentheinstallerinitializationiscompleted,clickon“Next”.Inthefollowingwindow,theusercan
definethedirectoriesinwhichthe4401AXVibraCordersoftwareandtheNationalInstrumentlibraries
willbesaved.Clickon“Browse”toselectadifferentfolderifdesired,andclickon“Next”toproceed.

VI. Operation
WARNING:Donotconnectorordisconnectthe25pinexternalmicrod‐subconnectorwhilethe
4401ispowered.Thismayresultindamagetotheunitand/orlossofdata.
1. Afterthecomputerisrestarted,theuserwillfindthe“9009VibraCorder”iconintheWindowsmenu,as
showninFigurebelow.AShortcutwillalsobecreatedontheDesktopforeaseofaccess.

2. InserttheSDcardintoyourPCandlaunchthesoftware.

3. Createconfigurationfile–thistaballowsthecreationoftheconfigurationfileforthedataacquisition.

3.1ItisrecommendedtoformatyourSDcardbeforeeveryuse.UseSDcarddrivenavigationwindowto
selectthecardandpress“FormatSDcard”button.
3.2Freerunisdeterminedbyswitchonhardwareon.Defaultvalueof40pre‐triggeredsamplesis
provided.
3.3Threedifferentsamplingratesareavailable.Themeasurementsbandwidthiseffectivelyhalfofthe
selectedsamplingrate.Theseratesare250,1200,and4280Hz.
3.3“Keeprunningaftertriggering”checkboxwillallowforcontinuousrecordingoncethetriggeredvalue
isreached(Triggeredacquisitionhastobeselectedforthisfeature).
3.6Afterthepopup“Config.txtcreated”appear,press“Ok”buttonandsafelyejecttheSDfromtheslot
InserttheMicroSDcardintothe4401AXMicroSDcardslotandpressthe“Power”button.Ensure
VibracorderispoweredoffbeforeinsertingorremovingMicroSDCard.IfSDCardisremoved
duringanyoperation,aformatofthecardinaPCmayberequiredasthecardfilesystemcan
becomecorrupted.
4. ThefirmwareoftheVibraCorderwillverifytheMicroSDcardoperation.Thegreen“ReadyIndicator”
LEDwillremainilluminatedifthesystempassesbuiltinselftestsandSDcardispresent.Dytran
Instruments,Inc.specifiesusingonlytheincludedSandiskExtremePlus32GB‐SDSQXVF‐032G‐
GN6MA.Othercardsmayoperate,buthavenotbeentestedandarenotguaranteedtoworkwiththe
system.
4.1 Aftertheaccelerometerisverifiedoperational,thefirmwarewillcheckforthepresenceofthe
configurationfile.Threebeepspriortostartupsoundwillindicatetheconfigurationfileisnotfound.

TheVibracorderispoweredbyanon‐replaceablelithiumionbattery.Theminimumcontinuous
recordingtimeisdefinedas24hours.Duringfreerun,therecordingwillbeautomaticallybroken
downto4gbfiles.Thatmeansiftherecorderisleftinfreerun,itwillrecordtheintoVR‐00001.BIN,
thenitwillcloseVR‐00001.BIN,opennewfileVR‐00002.BINandcontinuetherecording.Itwill
performthatoperationuntilbatteryrunsout.
