INTRODUCTION

This manual provides technical information necessary to maintain and support repair

service of Pocket PC Phone glofiish®M810. Information contained in this document is

copyrighted by E-TEN Information Systems Co., Ltd. It is intended for use of E-TEN’s

authorized service providers and clients. Service technicians may reproduce this document as

needed for repair uses only. Reproduction for any other activities may be illegal to copy certain

Function Procedure

Hardware Reset 1. Press and hold POWER button

2. Press RESET button and release both

(power & reset) buttons at the same time

Software Reset Press RESET button

Testing (Build-in) Program 1. Press and hold CAMERA button

immediately after doing a hardware reset

2. Release CAMERA button after the

testing program shows up on the LCD

Clean-boot Option (new) 1. Press POWER button and RESET button

after ‘glofiish’ screen shows up

2. Long Press END button after the clean boot

option shows up on the LCD

Download Mode 1. Press and hold RECORD button

immediately after doing a hardware reset

2. Release RECORD button after the

USBDL screen shows up on the LCD

CHAPTER 5. DIAGNOSTICS

5.1 PDA Build-in Program

How to entering the program：

a. Press POWER and RESET buttons at the same time and release.

b. After that, Press CAMERA button immediately after having hardware reset

c. Release CAMERA button after the screen shows up

NOTE. Always tap the up-right corner [x] to exit when finished.

Follow each of the instructions and press BLACK or GREEN

hinted button in order.

*There’re five sub-testing items in this program.

Take stylus to draw few lines slowly around the screen rims

and center.

*Breaking lines or screen un-alignment is not allowed.

AUDIO Voice record/reply test

1. Tap Recording icon and talk to the microphone for 1-2 sec,

the voice will reply the recorded sound automatically.

2. Plug your headset and run the record/reply test again.

3. Tap Receiver, and tap “PASS” after hear a tone by phone

generated.

LCD LCD color test Tap screen repeatedly. Check color screen if normal or any

defective pixels on it.

BackLight LCD backlight test Tap “Back Light On/Off” and tap “scroll up/down” to test

backlight.

LED LED indication test Tap “ALL ON”/ “ALL OFF” to check all indicative color LED

turns on/off.

Vibrator Vibration test Select “Vibrator On then Off” to check if device is vibrating.

2. Check the contents of AP Satellite searching status

B. Remove battery-cover from the unit, push and move downward.

C. Remove battery, release latch before take it up.

A. Use plastic-stick to release middle latch by pulling up the Cover slowly.

B. Antenna Cover Middle Latch will be released this time.

C. Take cover up, release latches before remove.

D. Finish.

A. Use T5-screwdriver to release four screws on bracket.

B. Use plastic-stick to poke a side from edge of the bracket.

C. Slide it slowly to the bottom.

D. Restore it to proper position as Picture shown.

E. Start separating from the bottom side.

F. Separate bracket, lifts it up from the unit.

G. Finish.

A. Remove speaker by tweezers.

B. Remove vibrator with the same action.

C. Remove MIC with the same action.

D. Finish.

Note. Remove old tape clean, make it ready for new coming part.

Main Unit ÆM/B P/N: 67007040

A. Lift M/B a little with plastic-stick.

B. Tilt unit, make a gap between M/B and unit.

C. Release M/B connector from its socket.

D. Slightly take the M/B out when released.

E. Finish.

M/B ÆCAM Shield, Camera 2M & EL Dome P/N: 03040340

A. Lift up cam shield with tweezers.

B. Remove camera from the holder.

C. Remove EL dome by tweezers.

D. Finish.

Caution!! Two contact tabs of EL dome may easily break, handle with care when disassembly.

A. Use Philips-screwdriver to release six screws on bracket.

B. Lift up bracket.

C. Finish.

C. Remove Front Cover connector from the UNIT

D. Remove LCM from the UNIT

E. Remove VGA CAM

A. Remove receiver by tweezers.

B. Finish.

Caution!! Move or pass the LCM with care, it can be damaged by dropped, or indiscreet disassembly.
