Basic Configuration
Notice of Basic Configuration
3. For some reason, you reset this machine and all data is lost, you
may refer to Appendix C and the description of this manual to
configure it back again.
2. For other advanced application purpose (such as SIP IP PBX
advanced function, Integration with other Edge-Core VoIP devices
advanced/value-added application), please refer to the user
manual in attached CD.
1.For general application purpose (Such as conversation between
SIP extensions, conversation between SIP extensions and Edge-
Core VoIP devices, ISR call service), the parameter is configured
in advance
You only need to setup IP address, My phone number and change
your real IP/Phone ID and configure this machine to pass through
NAT, and then you are able to use this device

1.3 LED indicator of VES3302
Label Description
PWR ON Power supply is normal
ALRAM ON Errors detected when auto HW diagnostics running
ON Able to access to TIME SERVER
Flash
The system tries to access TIME SERVER every 30 minutes. If
Time Server is not reachable, the LED is flashing until the
system is able to access Time Server
TIME
SRVR
OFF System has not yet access to Time Server.
ON Network Connection Fails
Flash Only partial SIP Entity of this VES3302 is registered to
other Proxy Server successfully.

OFF All SIP Entity of this VES3302 is registered to other Proxy
Server failed or the system is set to Registrar Enabled.

2.Configuration of Network Environment
This chapter helps you how to configure the parameter of network

uration:
1. Please prepare a PC or Notebook PC. Connect one side of LAN cable to LAN
and connect the other side of LAN cable to 【To WAN / MDI-X】of VES3302.
2. Connect Power Adapter and Power Cord to VES3302 and also plug adapter to
power outlet. It needs about 30 second to boot VES3302.
3. Please contact your network administrator to get a Fix IP for VES3302.
The default IP address of this machine is 192.168.0.2, Please configure the IP address of
your PC to the same Subnet of this machine (For example: 192.168.0.179), and then you
are able to configure the management web by Web Browser

2.2 Enter Management Web Page

7-1: Start Browser and input URL: http://192.168.0.2 and then press ENTER.
7-2: Input WEB in User Name field (capitalized WEB) and leave Password
blank. They are default value and it can be modified in management web
later

Please proceed the steps on next chapter.

3.Configure IP and My Phone Number
This chapter tells you how to configure the IP address and My Phone Number of this
machine
λ IP Address: Please apply a set of IP address from Network Administrator for this
machine in advance. We suggest you to use Fixed Public IP. If you
use Private IP, please refer to Chapter 11 for how to pass through
NAT
λ My Phone Number: We suggest you to use PSTN phone number from office or
home.
Configuration of IP address:
1. Click path on left column: HOME / IP Settings
2. Input IP Address aware from network administrator in Change To field.
3. Click Apply after new IP Address had been inputted

λ Normally, it need to restart when the IP information is changed,
however, please restart it only when all of the setting below is
configured OK. It needs to input new IP Address configured here in
order to enter Web page again if you restart this machine.
λ Restart is required every time when IP address information is changed.
Attention!
If any setting in Web pages are changed by you, you have to
click button on the top-right corner of each Web pages in
order to take effect.

Configuration of My Phone Number:
1. Click path on left column: HOME / Basic / System Config
2. Input Office or Home PSTN phone number to My Phone Number field.
3. Click Apply after phone number had been inputted

4.Configure Server Function
The parameter of Registrar Server and Proxy Server (figure shown below and next
page) is pre-configured. For general application, you only need to input correct
Public Address Settings in Sub-step 5 and click Apply, and then you can go
through to next Chapter
If you need to configure different parameter of Server for advanced application
purpose, or the setting is reset for some purpose, you can configure it by yourself
according to figure below and next page, also the Appendix C and the User Manual
in attached CD.

5.Configure SIP Extensions No.
Classify by the model you purchase, there are 12, 36 and 90 SIP Channel available.
Each Channel can be registered by one SIP device as an extension. SIP phone or
gateway that wants to register to this machine has to use the account and password
specified by this machine. This chapter tells you how to open SIP Extension No. For
the setting of Password, it will be described on advanced configuration.
λ The SIP Extension No. is pre-configured in advanced (shown on figure
below). You can click the path on left column: HOME / Channel /
Configuration and check the setting according each step
λ If you need to configure different SIP Extension No. or the setting is reset for
some purpose, you can configure it by yourself according to figure below,
also the Appendix B and Appendix C

6.Configure Prefix No. of Extensions (Prefix Map)
For the SIP Extensions that can dial to each other, you need to configure Prefix No.
of this machine.
Steps to configure Prefix No. of Extensions
1. Click path on left column: HOME / Advanced-PBX /Prefix Map
2. Input 10 in Prefix field
4. In Phone Number field, please input the number of My Phone Number
(refer to Chapter 3). This number has to be complete number (country
code + area code + Phone number)
5. Select iPBX in Type field
6. Click Apply

7.Restart this machine
All parameter in above chapter has to execute restart in order to take effect.

2. Select Warm Restart in System Restart field

restarted.

to make calls. For SIP phone or gateway configuration, please refer to
Edge-Core Web http://WWW.EDGE-CORE.COM

8.Verify SIP Extension Registration Status
User can check the registration status in this page. If the registration is fail, you are not
able to dial phone call.

Configuration of SIP Registration:
1. Click path on left column: HOME / Advanced-SIP / Registrar
2. In Registered List field, check User and Contact URL column to see if
there is any registered record. It record is shown, that SIP device is registered
successfully.

9.How to Make a Call
9.1 Basic Dialing – Dialing between extension
Each SIP phone that registers to VES3302 is regarded as an extension. SIP phone
dial to each other is called Dialing Between Extensions. Dialing method: (Ext. 3811
dial to Ext. 3810)
1. Hook off and hear dial tone
2. Dial 3810 (hear ring back tone)
3. Ext. 1010 pick up phone (conversation start)
