Introduction
The PRM2 Precision Panel Rack Mount is a rack-mounting
frame designed to be used to install any ELAN Precision
Panel into a standard 19" equipment rack. The PRM2
holds up to two full size precision panels, four 1/2 frame
precision panels using the PF2 Precision Panel Frame, or a
combination of one full size panel and two 1/2 size panels.
The PRM2 has a custom-designed hinged metal frame
which drops down 90 degrees for easy access to rear
panel punch-downs and connectors. Stainless-steel frame
support cables hold panels steady while punching down
wires.

Installing The PRM2 In A Rack
The PRM2 consists of two pieces. The upper frame should
be installed first, followed by the lower hinge panel. Install
the PRM2 into an equipment rack as follows:
Determine where you want to mount the PRM2 and
attach the upper frame to the equipment rack using
four of the rack screws (larger screws).

Attach the lower hinged panel in the rack space
directly below the upper frame using the remaining
four rack screws.
NOTE: The two flange hinges must be inserted into
the two slot openings at the base of the upper panel
blank, as shown below.

Note: The ELAN full and 1/2 frame precision panels can be
installed facing in either direction on the PRM2 to handle
wire punchdowns either from the rack equipment location
or from the wall.
A. Full Size Precision Panels:
Install full size ELAN Precision Panels into the PRM2
using four of the panel screws (smaller screws) that
came with the PRM2, as shown below.

B. 1/2 Frame Precision Panels:
Note: The PF2 Precision Panel Frame is required for the
installation of all 1/2 Frame Precision Panels.
Attach a 1/2 Frame Precision Panel such as a PVSE,
PZ600 etc., into a PF2 Precision Panel Frame using
the four screws that came with the Precision Panel
as shown below in Example A.
Attach the PF2 Precision Panel Frame to the PRM2
using the four appropriate panel screws, as shown
below in Example B.

Using Punchdown Support Cables
Remove the four rack mounting screws from the
PRM2's upper frame, as shown below.
Lower the upper frame and attach the punch down
support cables from the top screw hole on each side
of the frame to an available screw hole on the rack,
as shown below.
After wire termination remove the support cables,
raise the upper frame and re-install the four screws.

Limited Warranty
ELAN HOME SYSTEMS L.L.C. (“ELAN”) warrants the PRM2 Precision Panel Rack Mount to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period of five years (5 years) from date
of purchase. If within the applicable warranty period above purchaser discovers that such item was not as warranted above and promptly notifies ELAN in writing, ELAN shall repair or replace
the item at the company’s option. This warranty shall not apply (a) to equipment not manufactured by ELAN, (b) to equipment which shall have been installed by other than an ELAN authorized
installer, (c) to installed equipment which is not installed to ELAN’s specifications, (d) to equipment which shall have been repaired or altered by others than ELAN, (e) to equipment which shall
have been subjected to negligence, accident, or damage by circumstances beyond ELAN’s control, including, but not limited to, lightning, flood, electrical surge, tornado, earthquake, or other
catastrophic events beyond ELAN’s control, or to improper operation, maintenance or storage, or to other than normal use of service. With respect to equipment sold by, but not manufactured
by ELAN, the warranty obligations of ELAN shall in all respects conform to the warranty actually extended to ELAN by its supplier. The foregoing warranties do not cover reimbursement for
labor, transportation, removal, installation or other expenses which may be incurred in connection with repair or replacement.
Except as may be expressly provided and authorized in writing by ELAN, ELAN shall not be subject to any other obligations or liabilities whatsoever with respect to equipment manufactured by
ELAN or services rendered by ELAN.
THE FOREGOING WARRANTIES ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESSED AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES EXCEPT WARRANTIES OF TITLE, INCLUDING BUT NOT
LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
