Installation
lThis hob must be installe by qualifie personnel,
accor ing to the manufacturers instructions an to
the relevant British Stan ar s.
lAny gas installation must be carrie out by a
registere CORGI installer.
lRemove all packaging before using the hob.
lEnsure that the gas an electrical supply complies
with the type state on the rating plate, locate near
the gas supply pipe.
lDo not attempt to mo ify the hob in any way.
Child Safety
lThis hob is esigne to be operate by a ults. Do
not allow chil ren to play near or with the hob.
lThe hob gets hot when it is in use.
lChil ren shoul be kept away until it has coole .
lChil ren can also injure themselves by pulling pans
or pots off the hob.
During Use
lThis hob is inten e for omestic cooking only. It is
not esigne for commercial or in ustrial purposes.
lWhen in use a gas cooking appliance will pro uce
heat an moisture in the room in which it has been
installe . Ensure there is a continuous air supply,
keeping air vents in goo con ition or installing a
cooker hoo with a venting hose.
lWhen using the hob for a long perio of time, the
ventilation shoul be improve , by opening a win ow
or increasing the extractor spee .
lDo not use this hob if it is in contact with water.
Do not operate the hob with wet han s.
lEnsure the control knobs are in the OFF position
when not in use.
lWhen using other electrical appliances, ensure the
cable oes not come into contact with the hot surfaces
of the cooking appliance.
lUnstable or misshapen pans shoul not be use on
the hob as unstable pans can cause an acci ent by
tipping or spillage.
lNever leave the hob unatten e when cooking with
oil an fats.
lNever use plastic or aluminium foil ishes on the hob.

Operation
Hob burners
To light a burner:
lpush in the relevant control knob an turn it
anticlockwise to maximum position.
lUpon ignition, keep the knob pushe own for about
5 seconds. This will allow the "thermocouple" (Fig. 1
letter D) to be heate an the safety evice to be
switche off, otherwise the gas supply woul be
interrupte .
lThen a just the flame as require .
lIf the burner oes not ignite, turn the control knob to
zero, an try again.
To ensure maximum burner efficiency, you shoul only
use pots an pans with a flat bottom fitting the size of
the burner use (see table).

Maintenance and Cleaning
If you use a saucepan which is smaller than the
recommen e size, the flame will sprea beyon
the bottom of the vessel, causing the han le to
overheat.
Take care when frying food in hot oil or fat, as
the overheated splashes could easily ignite.
As soon as a liqui starts boiling, turn own the
flame so that it will barely keep the liqui
simmering.
If the control knobs become ifficult to turn, please
contact your local Service Centre.
Before any maintenance or cleaning can be carrie
out, you must DISCONNEC the hob from the
electricity supply.
The hob is best cleane whilst it is still warm, as
spillage can be remove more easily than if it is
left to cool.
The Hob Top
Regularly wipe over the hob top using a soft cloth well
wrung out in warm water to which a little washing up liqui
has been a e . Avoi the use of the following:
- househol etergent an bleaches;
- impregnate pa s unsuitable for non-stick saucepans;
- steel wool pa s;
- bath/sink stain removers.
Shoul the hob top become heavily soile , it is
recommen e that a cleaning pro uct such as Hob Brite
or Bar Keepers Frien is use .

The pan supports are ishwasher proof. If washing them
by han , take care when rying them as the enamelling
process occasionally leaves rough e ges. If necessay,
remove stubborn stains using a paste cleaner.

The Burners
The burner caps an crowns can be remove for cleaning.
Wash the burner caps an crowns using hot soapy water,
an remove marks with a mil paste cleaner. A well
moistene soap impregnate steel wool pa can be use
with caution, if the marks are particularly ifficult to remove.
After cleaning, be sure to wipe ry with a soft cloth.
Ignition candle
The electric ignition is obtaine through a ceramic
"can le" an a metal electro e (fig. 1 letter C). Keep
these components clean, to avoi ifficult lighting, an
check that the burner crown holes are not obstructe .

Something Not Working?
If the hob is not working correctly, please carry out the following checks before contacting your local Service Force
Centre.
IMPORTANT
If you call out an engineer to a fault listed below, or to repair a fault caused by incorrect use or
installation, a charge will be made even if the appliance is under guarantee.

If after all these checks, your hob still oes not operate
correctly, contact your local Service Force Centre.
Please note that it will be necessary to provi e proof of
purchase for any in-guarantee service calls.
In-guarantee customers should ensure that the
above checks have been made as the engineer will
make a charge if the fault is not a mechanical or
electrical breakdown.

the ate of the purchase, this Electrolux appliance or
any part thereof is prove to be efective by any reason
only of faulty workmanship or materials, we will, at our
option, repair or replace the same FREE OF ANY
CHARGE for labour, materials or carriage on con ition
that:
* The appliance has been correctly installe an use
only on the gas an electricity supply state on the
rating plate.
* The appliance has been use for normal omestic
purposes only, an in accor ance with the
manufacturer's instructions.
* The appliance has not been service , maintaine ,
repaire , taken apart or tampere with by any person
not authorise by us.
* All service work un er this guarantee must be
un ertaken by a Electrolux Service Force Centre.
* Any appliance or efective part replace shall
become the Company's property.
* This guarantee is in a ition to your statutory an
other legal rights.
Home visits are ma e between 8.30am and 5.30pm

hours, in which case a premium will be charge .
Exclusions
his guarantee does not cover:
* Damage or calls resulting from transportation,
improper use or neglect, the replacement of any light
bulbs or removable parts of glass or plastic.

Important safety requirements
This hob must be installe in accor ance with the Gas
Safety (Installation an Use) Regulations (Current E ition)
an the IEE Wiring Regulations (Current E ition).
Detaile recommen ations are containe in the following
British Stan ar s Co es Of Practice: B.S. 6172/ B.S.
5440, Part 2 an B.S. 6891 Current E itions.
The hob shoul not be installe in a be sitting room
with a volume of less than 20 m3. If it is installe in a
room of volume less than 5 m3 an air vent of effective
area of 110 cm2 is require . If it is installe in a room of
volume between 5 m3 an 10 m3 an air vent of effective
area of 50 cm2 is require , while if the volume excee s
11 m3 no air vent is require .
However, if the room has a oor which opens irectly to
the outsi e no air vent is require even if the volume is
between 5 m3 an 11 m3.
If there are other fuel burning appliances in the same
room, B.S. 5440 Part 2 Current E ition, shoul be
consulte to etermine the requisite air vent requirements.
Location
The hob may be locate in a kitchen, a kitchen/ iner or
be sitting room, but not in a bathroom, shower room or
garage.
Before making the cut out in the worktop ensure that the
e ges of the hob that are to be near either a si e or rear
wall have a minimum istance of 55 mm. between the
e ge of the hob an the wall.
The minimum istance combustible material can be fitte
above the hob is 400 mm. If it is fitte below 400 mm. a
space of 50 mm. must be allowe from the e ges of the
hob.
The minimum istance combustible material can be fitte
irectly above the hob is 700 mm.
A minimum istance of 100 mm. must be left between
the si e e ges of the hob an any a jacent cabinets or
walls.
Installation
IMPOR AN
This hob must be installe by qualified personnel
to the relevant British Stan ar s.
Any gas installation must be carrie out by a
registere CORGI installer.

WHEN HE HOB IS FIRS INS ALLED
Once the hob has been installe , it is important to
remove any protective materials, which were put
on in the factory.
On the en of the shaft, which inclu es the GJ 1/2"
threa e elbow, a justment is fixe so that the washer
is fitte between the components as shown in the
iagram. Screw the parts together without using
excessive force.
