Building over a kitchen unit
with door
P ope a angements must be taken in designing the
fu nitu e unit, in o de to avoid any contact with the
bottom of the hob which can be heated when it is
ope ated. The ecommended solution is shown in
diag am 3.
The panel fitted unde the hob ("a") should be easily
emovable to allow easy access if technical
assistance is needed. The space behind the kitchen
unit ("b") can be used fo connections.

In the case of a pe manent connection, it is necessa y
that you install a double pole switch between the hob
and the elect icity supply (mains), with a minimum gap
of 3 mm. between the switch contacts and of a type
suitable fo the equi ed load in compliance with the cu ent
elect ic egulations.
The switch must not b eak the yellow and g een ea th

Ensure that the hob supply cord does not
come into contact with surfaces with
temperatures higher than 50 deg. C.

Fitting the Hob into the worktop
Ca y out the building in of the hob as follows:
 put the seals supplied with the hob, on the
edges of the cut out: place them exactly on
the f ont and ea edge and at 50 mm. f om the
side edges, taking ca e that the seals meet
without ove lapping;
 place the hob in the cut out, taking ca e that it
is cent ed;
 fix the hob with the elevant fixing clamps and
sc ews, as shown in the diag am. When the

reliminary Electrical Systems
Check
A. EARTH CONTINUITY CHECK - Appliance must be
electrically disconnected - meter set on W (Ohms) x
1 scale and adjust zero if necessary.
a) est leads from any appliance earth point to earth
pin on plug. Resistance should be less than 0.1
ý (Ohm), check all earth wires for continuity and
all contacts are clean and tight.
B. INSULATION CHECK - Appliance electrically
disconnected, all switches ON.
a) meter set on W(Ohms) x 1 scale.
est leads from L to N in appliance terminal block.
If meter reads «0» then there is a short circuit.
b) meter set on W (Ohm) x 100 scale.
Repeat test with leads from L to E. If meter reads
less than × (infinity) there is a fault.
NO E - Should it be found that the fuse has failed
but no fault is indicated - a detailed continuity check
(i.e. by disconnecting and checking each
component) is required to trace the faulty component.
It is possible that a fault could occur as a result of
local burning/arcing but no fault could be found under
test. However a detailed visual inspection should
reveal evidence of burning around the fault.

Commissioning
When the hob has been fully installed it will be necessa y
to check the minimum flame setting. To do this, follow
the p ocedu e below.
- Tu n the gas tap to the MAX position and ignite.
- Set the gas tap to the MIN flame position then tu n
the cont ol knob f om MIN to MAX seve al times. If
the flame is unstable o is extinguished follow the
p ocedu e below.
Procedure:
Re-ignite the bu ne and set to MIN.
Remove the cont ol knob.
To adjust, use a thin bladed sc ewd ive and tu n
the adjustment sc ew (see diag am) until the flame
is steady and does not extinguish, when the knob
is tu ned f om MIN to MAX. Repeat this p ocedu e
fo all bu ne s.
Pressure esting
Remove left hand pan suppo t and f ont left bu ne
cap and c own.
Fit manomete tube ove the injecto .
Tu n on the bu ne gas supply and ignite anothe
bu ne .
The p essu e eading should be nominally 20mba
and must be between 17 mba and 25mba .
Tu n off the bu ne supplies.

Method
 Ensu e that the gas taps a e in the 'OFF' position
 Isolate the hob f om the elect ical supply
 Remove all pan suppo ts, bu ne caps, ings, c owns
and cont ol knobs.
 With the aid of a 7mm box spanne the bu ne injecto s
can then be unsc ewed and eplaced by the
app op iate LPG injecto s.
O ADJUS HE GAS RA E
With the aid of a thin bladed sc ewd ive completely
tighten down the by pass adjustment sc ew, which is
located down the cent e of the gas tap cont ol shaft.
Upon completion stick the eplacement ating plate on
the unde side of the hob.
IMPOR AN
he replacement/conversion of the gas hob
