Prior to installation
Check the appliance for transport da age. Under no
circu stances should a da aged appliance be
installed. In the event of da age please contact your
retailer.
Installation
This appliance is heavy. Care should be taken when
oving it.
It is dangerous to alter the specifications or atte pt
to odify this product in any way.
Ensure that the appliance does not stand on the
electrical supply cable. If the supply cable is
da aged, it ust be replaced by a cable available
fro your local Service Force Centre.
Make sure that the power plug is not squashed
or damage the back of the fridge/freezer.
- A da aged power plug ay overheat and cause a
fire.
Do not place heavy articles or the
fridge/freezer itself on the power cord.
- There is a risk of a short circuit and fire.
Do not remove the power cord by pulling on its
lead, particularly when the fridge/freezer is
being pulled out of its niche.
- Da age to the cord ay cause a short-circuit, fire
and/or electric shock.
- If the power cord is da aged, it ust be replaced
by a certified service agent or qualified service
personnel.
If the power plug socket is loose, do not insert
the power plug.
- There is a risk of electric shock or fire.
Any electrical work required to install this appliance
should be carried out by a qualified electrician or
co petent person.
Parts which heat up should not be exposed.
Whenever possible, the back of the appliance should
be close to a wall, but leaving the required distance
for ventilation, as stated in the installation
instructions.
The appliance should be left for 2 hours after
installation before it is turned on, in order to allow the
refrigerant to settle.
Child Safety
Do not allow children to ta per with the controls or
play with the product.
There is a risk of suffocation! Keep packaging
aterial away fro children!
During Use
This appliance is designed for do estic use only,
specifically for the storage of edible foodstuffs. It is
not intended for co ercial or industrial use.
Containers with fla able gases or liquids can
leak at low te peratures. Do not store any
containers with fla able aterials, such as
spray cans, fire extinguisher refill cartridges etc.
Frozen food should not be refrozen once it has
thawed out.
Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks in the
freezer co part ent.
Ice lollies can cause 'frost/freezer burns' if
consu ed straight fro the freezer co part ent.
Do not re ove ite s fro the freezer
co part ent if your hands are da p/wet, as this
could cause skin abrasions or frost/freezer burns.
Bottles and cans ust not be placed in the freezer
co part ent they can burst when the contents
freeze.
Manufacturers' reco ended storage ti es
should be adhered to. Refer to relevant
instructions.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance
and disconnect fro the electrical supply.
When unplugging always pull the plug fro the
ains socket, do not pull on the cable.
Servicing
This product should be serviced by an authorised
engineer and only genuine spare parts should be
used.
Under no circu stances should you atte pt to
repair the appliance yourself. Repairs carried out
by inexperienced persons ay cause injury or
serious alfunctioning. Contact your local
Service Force Centre.
At the end of the Appliance Life
When disposing of your appliance use an
authorised disposal site.
Re ove the plug and ensure that any locks or
catches are re oved, to prevent young children
being trapped inside.
The Appliance and the Environment
This appliance does not contain gases which could
da age the ozone layer.
Avoid da aging the cooling unit.
The packaging used on this appliance arked with
the sy bol is recyclable.
Keep this instruction book for future
reference and ensure it is passed on to any
new owner.

General information
This appliance is designed for the refrigeration of food
in a do estic ho e. It has a two-star frozen food
co part ent for ice aking and frozen food storage.
To ensure correct operation, the appliance should
be located where the a bient te perature is
between 16-32 °C.

Using the Appliance
Before Use
Re ove all securing tapes.
Wash the inside of the appliance with lukewar water
with a little bicarbonate of soda added (5 l to 0,5 litre
of water). Do not use soap or detergent as the s ell
ay linger. Dry the appliance thoroughly.
Do not use detergents, abrasive powders,
highly perfumed cleaning products, wax
polishes or products containing alcohol.
FFTo Start the Appliance
1. Allow the appliance to stand for 2 hrs after
installation.
2. Plug in the appliance and switch on at the ains
supply.
3. Turn the ther ostat control to the required setting.
A setting of 3 - 4 is usually suitable for nor al
operation (see ther ostat control).
4. Leave the appliance for approxi ately 4 hours for
the correct te perature to be reached before
placing food inside.
Thermostat Control
The ther ostat control situated inside the refrigerator
regulates the te perature of the larder co part ent.
Ther ostat control is arked fro 1-5 the higher the
nu ber, the colder the setting.

The te perature inside the refrigerator and the 2-star
co part ent can be regulated further by adjusting
the tray located under the 2-star co part ent.
To obtain a lower te perature in the 2-star
co part ent when frozen food is stored inside and
when the a bient te perature is 25 °C or lower push
the tray in Position 2. When frozen food is not stored
in the 2-star co part ent and when the a bient
te perature is higher than 25 °C pull the tray out to
Position 1.
If frozen food is stored in the 2-star co part ent and
the a bient te perature is above 25 °C, pull the tray
out to position 1 and turn the ther ostat control to a
colder setting (higher nu ber). When the a bient
te perature falls below 25 °C turn the ther ostat
control back to a ediu setting and push the tray
into position 2.

Storage time and temperature of
foods
The enclosed charts at the end of the instruction
books give infor ation about storage ti e in the
frozen and the fresh food co part ent.
The storage ti es quoted are intended as a guide
only.
How to use the two-star frozen
food compartment
The frozen food co part ent is separated fro the
fresh food co part ent by the drip tray.
Depending on the position of the ther ostatic control
knob and the te perature in the co part ent
(-12 °C or lower), frozen food can be stored here.
S all quantities of fresh food can be frozen in the two-
star co part ent but storing the for a long period of
ti e is not reco ended.
Do not allow fresh food to co e into contact with
foods that are already frozen.
How to make ice cubes
Fill the supplied ice cube tray ¾full with water and
place in the freezer co part ent. Turning up the
ther ostat control will speed up the freezing process,
but re e ber to turn the ther ostat control back to
its original position.
To release the ice cubes, twist the tray along its
length.

Storage Shelves
The shelves in the refrigerator co part ent are
adjustable to allow storage of large ite s.
The shelves can be re-arranged by opening the door
to 90°.
The door shelves are also adjustable.
To allow the air to circulate within the fridge
co part ent do not cover the wire shelves
with paper or trays.
Hints & Tips
Food Storage
To obtain the best results fro your appliance
neither hot foods nor liquids which ay evaporate,
should be placed in the larder co part ent.
Keep the ti e between buying chilled food and
placing it in your fridge as short as possible.
Do not push food together too uch, try to allow air
to circulate around each ite .
Do not store food uncovered.
Re ove suspect food fro your refrigerator and
clean, refer to cleaning and aintenance.
Energy Saving Advice
Do not install the cabinet close to sources of
heat, such as a cooker, dishwasher or radiator.
Locate the appliance in a cool well ventilated
roo and ake sure that the air openings of the
cabinet are not obstructed.
Always leave war food to cool down to roo
te perature before placing in the fridge.
Try to avoid keeping the door open for long
periods, or opening the door too frequently as
war air will enter the cabinet, and cause the
co pressor to switch on unnecessarily often.
Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the
door fro closing properly.
It is advisable to periodically clean the
refrigeration syste at the back of the appliance
with a duster or vacuu cleaner.

enance & Cleaning
Before any maintenance of cleaning work is
carried out DISCONNECT the appliance from
the ELECTRICITY SUPPLY.
Internal Cleaning
Clean the inside and accessories with war water and
bicarbonate of soda (5 l to 0.5 litre of water). Rinse
and dry thoroughly.
Do not use detergents, abrasive powders,
highly perfu ed cleaning products, wax
polishes or cleaning products containing
bleach or alcohol.
Regularly check the door seals and wipe clean
to ensure they are clean and free fro debris.
External Cleaning
Wash the outer cabinet with war soapy water.
Once or twice a year dust the condenser (black
grille) and the co pressor at the back of the
appliance with a brush or vacuu cleaner, as an
accu ulation of dust will affect the perfor ance of
the appliance and cause excessive electricity
consu ption.

Defrosting
While in operation the **-star co part ent beco es
progressively covered with frost.
This frost, which acts as an insulator and thus prevents
the cold fro reaching the food should be re oved
whenever the thickness of the frost exceeds 1/4.
To carry out co plete defrosting proceed as follows:
1. Push the conveyor co pletely in.
2. Place a tray on the upper shelf of the refrigerator
under the drain hole of the conveyor.
3. Re ove any food fro inside the **-star
co part ent, wrap it in several sheets of
newspaper and store in a cool dry place.
4. Turn the ther ostat knob on position << 0 >>. To
accelerate defrosting, place a bow of hot water
inside the co part ent (with a piece of cardboard
underneath the bowl as protection).
5. When defrosting is co pleted, dry thoroughly and
re ove the water collected in the tray.
Turn the ther ostat knob on a ediu position to
restart the appliance.
After letting the appliance run for at least half an
hour replace the previously re oved food into the
** -star co part ent.
When defrosting it is not necessary to re ove the
foods fro the inner door and the refrigerator
co part ent.
Important
A te perature rise of the frozen food packs during
defrosting ay shorten their storage life.
Never use sharp etal tools to scrape off frost fro
the evaporator as youcould da age it beyond
repair.
Changing the Light Bulb
Should the light fail to work you can change it as
below:
Disconnect the appliance fro the electricity supply.
Re ove the la p cover retaining screws, then take
the la p cover off in the direction of the arrow and the
bulb can be changed. (Type of the bulb: 230 V, 15 W,
E 14 thread)
After changing the bulb replace the la p cover, and
retaining screws and reconnect the appliance to the
electricity supply.
When the appliance is not in use
When the appliance is not in use for long periods
disconnect fro the electricity supply, e pty all of the
food and clean the appliance, leaving the door ajar to
prevent unpleasant s ells.

Solution
Check there is power at the socket.
Check there is not a power cut by checking the
household lights.
Check the fuse has not blown.
Check the ther ostat.
Check the a bient te perature is within the
appliances operating li its of 16 °C to 32 °C.
Check that the ther ostat control knob is turned to
the correct setting relative to a bient conditions.
Set the ther ostat control knob to a lower
position.
Check the door has not been left open.
Check nothing is preventing the door fro closing.
Check the door gasket is intact and clean.
Check if the appliance stands stable (all four feet
should be on the floor).

Installing the appliance
Transportation, unpacking
The appliance and the interior fitting are protected for
transport.
Re ove all packaging and any adhesive tape.
Any re nants of adhesive can be re oved using
white spirit.
After transportation the appliance ust not be
switched on for 2 hours. This is to allow the
refrigerant to settle.
Cleaning
Clean the accessories and the inside of the appliance
with war water and bicarbonate of soda (5 l to
0.5 litres of water). Rinse and try thoroughly.
Do not use detergents, abrasive powders, highly
perfumed cleaning products, wax polishes or
cleaning products containing bleach or alcohol.
Location
The appliance should be positioned in a well
ventilated, dry roo .
Energy use is affected by the a bient te perature.
The appliance should therefore:
not be installed next to radiators, cookers or
other sources of heat
only be installed at a location where the a bient
te perature corresponds to the cli ate
classification, for which the appliance is
designed.
The cli ate classification can be found on the
serial plate.
The following table shows which a bient
te perature is correct for each cli ate
classification:

Ventilation Requirements
The appliance ust have adequate ventilation to
ensure correct operation.
Diagra shows the ventilation require ents when
installed:
A:* Under a worktop, or cupboard.
* The clearance space of 10 c above the
appliance ay be reduced to 5 c providing a
clearance space 2,5 c is left on either side of
the appliance.
B: When freestanding
Door Reversal
If required the opening direction of the door can be
changed as follows:
To reverse the botto hinge asse bly proceed as
follows:
Disconnect the appliance fro the electricity
supply.
Tilt the appliance backwards, resting the top edge
of the appliance on a stool or so ething si ilar.
Unscrew the adjustable feet situated on both sides
at the front (2 pieces). Re ove the lower door
hinge plate by unscrewing the 3 retaining screws.
Re ove the hinge pin fro the botto of the door.
Slot the hinge pin into the hole in the hinge plate
and relocate the hinge asse bly to the opposite
location and refit using the retaining screws.
Put the cabinet in the upright position.

Levelling
The appliance ust be level. Level the appliance by
adjusting the two adjustable feet (1) at the front of the
appliance.
If required the washer (2) can be re oved.

To reverse the top hinge asse bly proceed as follows:
Re ove the 2 worktop retaining screws fro the
back of the appliance.
Slide the worktop towards the rear and lift clear of
the appliance.
Re ove the 2 upper hinge plate retaining screws.
Re ove the hinge plate fro the top of the door.
Unscrew the hinge pin fro the hinge plate and re-
insert on the opposite side of the pate.
Rotate the hinge asse bly 180° and insert the
hinge asse bly into the opposite location.
Refit the 2 hinge plate retaining screws.
Relocate the worktop and refit the worktop
retaining screws.
To reverse the handle proceed as follows:
Re ove screw covers (if fitted) and handle retaining
screws. Re ove blanking plugs on the opposite
side
using a punch
.
Relocate the handle to the opposite side and refit
retaining screws (covers if fitted), and
push the
plastic plugs supplied with the instruction book into
the holes where the handle was previously fitted
.

Electrical Connection
Electrical Connection
Any electrical work required to install this
appliance should be carried out by a
qualified electrician or competent person.
This appliance must be earthed.
The manufacturer declines any liability should
these safety measures not be observed.
Electrical Requirements
Before switching on, ake sure the electricity supply
voltage is the sa e as that indicated on the appliance
rating plate.
The appliance is supplied with a 13 a p plug fitted. In
the event of having to change the fuse in the plug
supplied, a 13 a p ASTA approved (BS 1362) fuse
ust be used. Should the plug need to be replaced
for any reason. The wires in the ains lead are
coloured in accordance with the following code:
Green and Yellow: Earth
Blue: Neutral
Brown: Live
The wire coloured green and yellow ust be
connected to the ter inal arked with the letter E or
by the earth sy bol or coloured green and yellow.
The wire coloured blue ust be connected to the
ter inal N or coloured black.
The wire coloured brown ust be connected to the
ter inal arked L or coloured red.
Upon co pletion there ust be no cut, or stray
strands of wire present and the cord cla p ust be
secure over the outer sheath.
This appliance co plies with the following
