Unvented Cylinder Fitting Instructions

1) Position the frame in final position, ensuring the frame is up
against the wall at the back of the frame. Secure the frame to the
floor and wall using screws through the 8 holes provided. Rest the
cylinder discharge pipe on the cylinder shelf.

2) Lift the cylinder on to the frame and push it back to the location
ring on the frame cylinder shelf. Take care not to scratch the shelf.
Note: For lifting purposes please take note of the cylinder weight
detailed in the cylinder manual and add 5kgs for any ancillary
components.
3) Ensure that the front of the cylinder is square with frame. The
immersion heater enclosures should be facing forwards.

HepVO Dry Trap
4) Fit lower safety valve discharge pipe into the HepVO dry trap
and secure with pipe clip
5) Fit upper safety valve discharge pipe into the tundish and join
up to lower discharge pipe using 22mm compression coupling
provided. Secure the upper discharge pipe to the cylinder using
the pipe clips provided. Adjust the cylinder as necessary on the
frame and check for leaks.
6) Ensure that all electrical
and metallic components are
earth bonded, a connection
stud is provided on the frame.
The unit is now ready to be piped up.

IMPORTANT
The safety discharge pipework from an unvented cylinder must be
suitable to withstand high temperatures circa 100OC for prolonged
periods. The installer must ensure that the correct material
specifications is used in the discharge pipework and soil stacks
when connecting them to the temperature and pressure relief valve
discharge.
If in doubt please consult Elson Technical.

1) Position the frame in final position, ensuring the frame is up
against the wall at the back of the frame. Secure the frame to the
floor and wall using screws through the 8 holes provided. Rest the
store lower overflow pipe (where fitted) on the store shelf.

4) Fit lower overflow pipe into the HepVO dry trap or waste pipe
and secure with pipe clip
5) Fit upper overflow pipe into the visual overflow indicator and
join up to lower discharge pipe using 28mm push-fit coupling
provided. Secure the upper overflow pipe to the store using the
pipe clips provided. Adjust the store as necessary on the frame.
6) Ensure that all electrical
and metallic components are
earth bonded, a connection
stud is provided on the frame.
The unit is now ready to be piped up.

Guarantee
The BDR Thermea products within
the Elson package such as the boiler,
cylinder or thermal store will follow
their respective warranties. The
additional components outside the
scope of these warranties are covered
under the package warranty and
this includes on site service support
including parts and labour for 24
months from date of installation.
The guarantee is valid provided that:
• It has been correctly installed as
per the instructions contained
in the instruction manual and all
relevant Codes of Practice and
Regulations in force at the time of
installation.
• The Benchmark Checklist
has been completed upon
commissioning and the
Benchmark Service Record is
completed for each service.
• It has not been modified in any
way, other than by ELSON.
• It has not been frost damaged.
• It has not been tampered with
or been subjected to misuse or
neglect.
• Within 60 days of installation the
user completes and returns the
warranty card supplied along with
the proof of purchase to register
the product.
• It has been installed in the United
Kingdom.
• The fault is not caused by high
chloride levels in the water supply
or incorrect disinfection methods.
Evidence of purchase and date
of supply may be required. The
guarantee is transferable. This
guarantee does not affect your
statutory rights.
