memory so you can listen to the songs on your favorite CD's in any or er you
choose. Or you can use the Ran om playback feature an let the player select the
playback or er for you. Use the 3-way Repeat feature to repeat a single track, the
entire isc, or a programme sequence of tracks, in efinitely. We've also inclu e
a 45 Secon Electronic Anti-Skip Memory which makes this player virtually skip-

POWER SOURCE
This CD player can be operate on either 120V 60Hz AC house current with the
AC a apter, inclu e , or on 3V DC (2 "AA" batteries, not inclu e ).
AC OPERATION
Connect the AC a apter to your 120V AC outlet. Then connect the small plug to
the "DC IN 4.5V" jack on the si e of the player as shown in the following illustration.
Do not use any AC a apter other than the one supplie with this unit.
If the AC a apter will not be use for an exten e perio of time, remove it from the
wall outlet by pulling on the a apter housing. Do not remove the a apter by pulling
on the cor . Do not touch the AC a apter with wet han s.
BATTERY OPERATION
1. Open the battery compartment oor on the bottom
cabinet by sli ing it in the irection of the arrow
an then lifting it open. To prevent loss, the oor
cannot be remove from the unit.
2. Insert 2 "AA" batteries (not inclu e ) into the
compartment. Use alkaline batteries for longest life.
Follow the polarity markings insi e the
compartment. If the batteries are inserte
incorrectly the unit will not work.

BATTERY PRECAUTIONS
Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device:
1. Use only the size and type of batteries specified.
2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the battery
compartment. Reversed batteries may cause damage to the device.
. Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline and Carbon-Zinc) or old batteries
with fresh ones.
4. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage
or injury from possible battery leakage.
5. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture
(Follow battery manufacturers directions.)
NOTE:
In or er to operate the player on batteries the AC a apter must be isconnecte
from the DC IN jack.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
When the batteries become too weak the battery level in icator begins to flash
an operation may become erratic. When this occurs replace the batteries
imme iately.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NORMAL PLAYBACK
NOTE: This player can play all normal CD's plus CD-Rs (CD Recor ables) an
CD-RWs (CD Re-Writeables)
1. Connect the hea phones to the PHONES jack.
Set the VOLUME control to a low level before you
begin playback an then a just the volume to a
comfortable level after playback begins.
2. Sli e the CD Door OPEN switch to the right to
release the lock an open the CD Door.
3. Place your isc on the center spin le with the
printe label si e facing up. Press own gently near
the center hole to make sure the isc is properly
seate on the spin le.
4. Close the oor completely until it locks shut.
5. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button. 45 sec
followe by 00 appear in the isplay as the player
rea s the isc. The total tracks an playing time
will appear momentarily an then playback begins
on Track 1. The Anti-Skip in icator comes on an
the playing time shows in the isplay.
6. A just the VOLUME an DBBS (Bass Boost)
controls as esire .
7. When all tracks have been playe the player stops
an the isplay again shows the total tracks an
playing time on the isc. After approximately 30
secon s the power shuts off an the isplay goes
blank.
To stop playback before the isc en s press the
STOP button at any time. Press the STOP
button again to shut the power off imme iately.

8. Sli e the CD Door OPEN switch to the right to open the oor an remove your
isc. Close the CD Door an return your isc to its protective storage case.
PAUSE CONTROL
Press the PLAY/PAUSE button uring playback
to pause momentarily. The soun stops, the track
an the time isplay flashes but the isc continues to
spin. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button again to
cancel pause an resume playback. The soun
returns an the isplay stops flashing.
SKIP SEARCH CONTROLS
To skip forwar or backwar to another track uring
playback press the SKIP FWD or SKIP REV
buttons repeate ly until the esire track number
appears in the isplay. Playback will begin on the
esire rack.
To search forwar or backwar within a track to locate a specific musical passage
press an hol either the SKIP FWD or SKIP REV buttons. The player
moves forwar or backwar at high spee . When you reach the esire point in the
track, release the buttons an normal playback resumes.
REPEAT PLAYBACK
To repeat a single track:
1. Press PLAY/PAUSE button to begin playback.
2. When playback begins press SKIP FWD or SKIP
REV button to select the esire track.
3. Press the MODE button once until the Repeat 1
 in icator appears in the isplay. The
selecte track will be repeate in efinitely.
To repeat the entire disc:
1. Press PLAY/PAUSE button to begin playback.
2. When playback begins press the MODE button twice
until the Repeat All   in icator appears
in the isplay. The entire isc will be repeate
in efinitely.

To cancel repeat playback:
1. Press the STOP button, or;
2. Press the MODE button until no special mo e in icators appear in the isplay.
INTRO SCAN
This feature plays only the first 10 secon s of each track on the isc.
1. Press PLAY/PAUSE button to begin playback.
2. When playback begins press the MODE button 3 times.
The INTRO in icator will begin flashing in the isplay.
3. Press the STOP button to stop the isc an then press the PLAY/PAUSE
button again. The INTRO in icator stops flashing an remains On. The player
returns to the beginning of track 1 an plays just the first 10 secon s of each
track on the isc. When the first 10 secon s of each track has been playe , the
player stops.
To cancel Intro Scan press the STOP button or press the MODE button until
none of the special playback mo e in icators appear in the isplay.
RANDOM PLAYBACK
Use Ran om playback to play all the tracks on a isc in a ran om or er selecte
by the CD player.
1. Press PLAY/PAUSE button to begin playback.
2. When playback begins press the MODE button 4 times
until the RAND in icator flashes in the isplay.
3. Press the STOP button to stop the isc an then press the PLAY/PAUSE
button again. The RAND in icator stop flashing an remains on. The player
ran omly selects the first track for playback an continues ran omly selecting
tracks until every track on the isc has been playe once. After all tracks have
been playe the player stops.
To cancel Ran om playback, press the STOP button, or press the MODE
button until no special mo e in icators remain in the isplay.

PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK
You can program the player to play only the tracks that you want to hear, in the
specific or er that you want to hear them. Up to a total of 24 tracks can be
programme . You may program certain tracks to play more than once if esire .
IMPORTANT: The player can only be programme when it is in the Stop mo e
an the total number of tracks an playing time appear on the isplay. If the
isplay is blank press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start the isc. When playback
begins press the STOP button. If the isc was playing, press the STOP
button so that the total tracks an playing time appear on the isplay.
1. While the total tracks an playing time appear on
the isplay press the PROG (Program) button.
"PROG" in icator flashes an Program No. "P - 01"
appears.
2. Press SKIP FWD or SKIP REV button until
the first track to be programme appears in the
isplay.
Example: Track # 7.
3. Press the PROG (Program) button again to enter
the selecte track in the memory. The track in icator
returns to a "00" an the Program No. a vances to
"P - 02".
4. Repeat Steps 2 an 3 until you have entere up to a total of 24 tracks in the
memory.
5. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to begin
programme playback. The PROG in icator stops
flashing an remains in the isplay. The player will
play the tracks you selecte in the programme
or er. When the last track has playe the player
stops an the total tracks an playing time appear.
6. To cancel programme playback press the STOP button twice. The program
will also be cancele if the CD Door is opene or if the power is interrupte .

ELECTRONIC ANTI-SKIP PROTECTION
This CD player is equippe with an automatic 45 secon Electronic Anti-Skip
Memory an an Anti-Rolling Mechanism that will eliminate virtually all skipping
un er normal con itions. When you press the PLAY/PAUSE button to begin
playback the player imme iately begins to store 45 secon s of music in a soli
state memory that is impervious to shock. The player is always rea ing the isc
45 secon s ahea of the music you are hearing an storing that information in
the memory. If the player is subjecte to shock or bumps of less than 45 secon s
uration you will not notice them at all. If the bumps last longer than 45 secon s
the anti-skip memory may be eplete an the player may skip or stop.
When playback begins the Anti-Skip in icator comes on an a series of "bars"
appear in the isplay. When all 5 "bars" appear the Anti-Skip memory
contains 45 secon s of music an is "full". If the player is bumpe or shaken the
"bars" may start to isappear as the memory is eplete . If all 5 "bars"
isappear the memory is empty an the player may skip if the bumps continue.
When the bumps stop the memory starts to fill up again an all 5 "bars" will
reappear.
CONNECTION TO AN EXTERNAL AUDIO SYSTEM
You can connect this CD player to a home stereo system, receiver, amplifier, or
recor er if esire . Connect the LINE OUT jack of this CD player to the Left/Right
Auxiliary Inputs, Line Inputs, or Recor Inputs of the external evice. The connection
cable is NOT inclu e . Set the DBBS(Bass Boost) switch of this CD player to the
OFF position. Be sure to follow the external source connection instructions for
the other equipment as well.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE CABINET
Wipe with a soft cloth. If the cabinet is very irty, ampen the cloth with a weak
solution of neutral etergent an water, an then wipe clean.
CLEANING THE LENS
A irty lens will cause soun skipping an , if the lens is
very irty, the CD may not work. Open the isc cover
an clean the lens as follows:
DUST OR DRY PARTICLES
Using a camera lens brush/blower, blow on the lens
several times, then wipe it lightly with the brush to
remove ust. Then, blow on the lens once more.
FINGERPRINTS
To remove fingerprints from the lens, use a cotton swab
starting in the mi le an working to the outsi e e ge.
Use only very light pressure on the lens to avoi forcing
it out of alignment.
CLEANING THE DISC
When a isc becomes irty, clean it with a cleaning cloth.
Wipe the isc from the center out.
NOTE: Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner; commercially available
cleaners or anti-static spray inten e for analog iscs.
