PREPARATIONFORUSE
UNPACKINGAND SETUP
•Carefullyremovethe unitfromthe carton and removeall packing materialsfrom
the unit.
•Carefullyremoveanysmall stripsoftape whichmayhavebeen used tokeep
the CDdoorclosed during shipment.
•Open the CDcompartmentbyplacing you fingerunderthe notchon side ofthe
CD doorand lifting upward.Inside the CD compartmentyou will see awhite
transitcardwhichisused topreventthe laserpick-up frommoving during
shipment. Carefullyremovethiscardand closethe CD compartmentdoor.
•Pleasesavethe carton and packing materialsinthe eventthatyourunitever
needstobe returned forservice.The originalcarton and packing materialsare
the onlywaytoprotectthe unitfromdamage during shipment.

Thisunitisdesigned tooperateon 6pcs “C”batteries,notincluded,oron normal
120V60HzAChousecurrent. Operating thisunitfromanyotherpowersource

AC Operation
Connectthe small end oftheACPowerCordtotheACsocketon the back cabinet,
then insertthe plug inanyconvenienthousehold120V60HzACoutlet.
NOTE:
Thisunithasapolarized ACplug withone wide blade and one narrowblade.This
plug will onlyfitintoamatching polarized ACoutlet. Thisisasafetyfeatureto
reducethe possibilityofelectricshock.If thisplug will notfitinyourACoutlet, you
probablyhavean outdated non-polarized outlet. You shouldhaveyouroutdated
outletchanged byaqualified,licensed electrician.Donotfilethe wide blade on the
plug,orusean adaptertomakethe plug fitintoyouroutlet. Thisdefeatsthe safety
featureand couldexposeyou toelectricshock.

BatteryOperation
1.)Removethe batterycompartmentdooron the back ofthe cabinetbypressing
downon the twotabsdirectlybelowthe “
OPEN
”marks.
2.)Insert6pcs “C”sizebatteriesintothe batterycompartmentaccording tothe
polaritydiagramengraved inside the compartment. If the batteriesareinserted
incorrectlythe unitwill notwork.
3.)Replacethe batterycompartmentdoor.
NOTE:Inordertooperatethe uniton batterypowerthe ACcordmustbe
disconnected fromthe ACsocketon the back cabinet.

PROTECTYOUR FURNITURE
Thismodelisequipped withnon-skidrubber'feet'topreventthe productfrom
moving when you operatethe controls.These'feet'aremade fromnon-migrating
rubbermaterialspeciallyformulated toavoidleaving anymarks orstainson your
furniture.Howevercertaintypesofoil based furniturepolishes,wood preservatives,
orcleaning sprays maycausethe rubber'feet'tosoften,and leavemarks ora
rubberresidue on the furniture.Topreventanydamage toyourfurniturewestrongly
recommend thatyou purchasesmall self-adhesivefeltpads,availableathardware
storesand homeimprovementcenterseverywhere,and applythesepadstothe
bottomofthe rubber'feet'beforeyou placethe producton fine wooden furniture.

PLAYINGCOMPACTDISCS
NOTE:Although thisportableCD playercan read CD-Rand CD-RWdiscs,in
addition tonormalCDs,the playabilityofCD-Rand CD-RWdiscs maybe effected
bythe type ofsoftwarethatwasused tocreatethe discs,aswell asthe qualityand
condition ofthe blankmediayou areusing.100%playabilitycannotbe guaranteed.
Thisisnotan indication ofaproblemwiththe player.
NORMALPLAYBACK
1.)Movethe FUNCTIONselectortothe CD position.The POWERIndicatorcomes
“On”
2.)Open the CD doorbylifting the notchatrightside ofCD door.If you havenot
alreadyremoved the whitetransitcardfromthe CD player,pleaseremoveit
now.
3.)PlaceyourCD on the centerspindlewiththe printed
labelside facing up.Closethe CD door.The playerwill
read the TableofContentsand the displaywill showthe
totalnumberoftracks on the disc.If the disc isdamaged
orup side down,displayshows“––”.
4.)PresstheCDPLAY/PAUSE buttontobeginplayback
on Track 1.The play“Dot”Indicatorappearsinthe
display.
•Toskiptohigherorlowernumbered tracks during playback press the or
button repeatedlyuntil the desired track numberappearsinthe display..
Playback will beginon the selected track.
•Tosearchrapidlyforwardorbackwardduring playback tolocateaspecific
portion ofatrack,depress and holdthe orbutton.The playerwill search
rapidlyforwardorbackwardaslong asthe buttonsaredepressed.Normal
speed playback will resumewhen the buttonsarereleased.
•ToPausemomentarilyduring playback press the PLAY/PAUSE button
again.The sound stopsand the play“Dot”Indicator
flashes,howeverthe disc continuestospin.Tocancel
Pauseand resumenormalplayback press the PLAY/
PAUSE buttononcemore.Normalplaybackresumess
and the play“Dot”Indicatorstopsflashing.

6.)ToStop playback atanytimepress the STOPbutton.The disc stopsand
the displayagainshowsthe totalnumberoftracks on the disc.Afterthe last
track hasplayed the disc stopsautomaticallyand the displayagainshowsthe
totalnumberoftracks on the disc.
7.)Open the CD door,removeyourdisc,and closethe CD dooragain.
8.)Movethe FUNCTIONselectortothe OFF position toshutthe power‘Off’.
TOSTARTPLAYBACK FROMASPECIFICTRACK
Insertyourdisc inthe player,closethe door,and waituntil the displayshowsthe
totaltracks.Presseitherthe orbuttonuntilthedesiredtrack numberappears
inthe display,then press the PLAY/PAUSE button tobeginplayback on that
track.
REPEATPLAYBACK
You can programthe playertorepeateitherasingletrack orall tracks on the disc
continuously.The Repeatfeaturecan be activated whilethe disc isplaying or
whilethe disc isstopped.
OneTrack Repeat
Press the REPEATbutton once.The REPEATIndicatorflashes.Selectthe track
you wishtorepeatwiththe orbuttonsand then press the PLAY/PAUSE
button.The selected track will be repeated continuously..
TocancelOneTrackRepeatpresstheSTOPbuttononce.TheREPEATT Indicator
goes“Off”.
ALL Tracks Repeat
Press the REPEATbutton twice.The REPEATIndicatorlightssolid.Press the
PLAY/PAUSE button tobeginplayback.The entiredisc will be repeated
continuously.

PROGRAMMEDPLAYBACK
You can programup to20 tracks on adisc toplayback inanydesired order.You
mayalsoprogramaspecifictrack toplayseveraltimeswithinthe sameprogram.
Note:The playercannotbe programmed whileadisc isplaying.If adisc isplaying
press the STOPbutton tostop playback beforeyou beginthe programming
stepsbelow.
1.)Movethe FUNCTIONselectortoCD,insertyourdisc inthe player,closethe
door,and waituntil the totaltrack numberappearsinthe display.
2.)Press the PROG.button once.The PROG.Indicatorand
programmemory“0”beginflashing inthe display.
3.)Usethe /buttonstoselectthe firsttrack tobe
programmed.(Example:Track 8).
4.)When track number“8”flashesinthe display,press the
PROG.buttononceagaintoenterthe track“8”inprogram
memorynumber“01”.Track number“8”disappearsand
“0”flashesagaininthe display,indicating thatyou may
nowselectatrack tobe entered inprogrammemory
number“02”.
5.)Usethe orbuttonstoselectthe nexttrack tobe programmed.When
the desired track numberappearsinthe displaypress the PROG.button again
toenterthattrack inthe programmemory.
6.)RepeatStep 5until you haveentered up to20 tracks
inthe programmemory.When the memoryisfull,the
“––”and PROG.indicatorflash.

7.)Tobeginprogrammed playback press the PLAY/PAUSE
button.The LCD displaywill showthe first
programmed track and playback will beginon thattrack.
The PROG.Indicatorflashes.
Afterthe lastprogrammed track hasplayed the playerstops
butthe programmed tracks remaininthe memory.Toplay
the programmed tracks again,press the PROG.button and
then the PLAY/PAUSE button.
Tocancelthe programmed sequencefrommemory,press the STOPbutton at
programming mode,open the CD door,ormovethe FUNCTIONselectortothe
OFF position.
ProgramRepeatPlayback
You can usethe Programand Repeatfeaturestogethertocontinuouslyrepeata
programmed sequenceoftracks.
First, programthe desired tracks according toSteps1through 7on pages12-13.
When Programmed Playback beginspress the REPEATbutton twicetoactivate
theAll Tracks Repeatfeature.
The REPEATIndicatorlightsand all the tracks inyour
programmed sequencewill be repeated continuously.
TocancelProgrammed RepeatPlayback press the STOPbutton until boththe
PROG.and REPEATIndicatorsgo ‘Off’.

STEREOHEADPHONEJACK
Connectasetofstereo headphones(notincluded)witha3.5mm miniplug tothe
PHONES jack (located atback panel)forprivatelistening withoutdisturbing
others.Beforeputting on the headphonesreducethe VOLUMEcontroltoalow
level,then putthe headphoneson and graduallyincreasethe VOLUMEcontrolto
acomfortablelistening level.The builtinspeakersareautomaticallydisconnected
when headphonesareconnected tothe headphone jack.

COMPACTDISCCARE
•Toremoveadisc fromitsstorage case,press downon the centerofthe case
and lift the disc out, holding itcarefullybythe edges.
•Fingerprintsand dustshouldbe carefullywiped off the disc’s recorded surface
withasoft cloth.Unlikeconventionalrecords,compactdiscs haveno grooves
tocollectdustand microscopicdebris,sogentlywiping withasoft clothshould
removemostparticles.Wipe inastraightline fromthe inside tothe outside of
the disc.Small dustparticlesand lightstainswill haveabsolutelyno effecton
reproduction quality.
•Clean the disc periodicallywithasoft, lint-free,drycloth.Neverusedetergents
orabrasivecleanerstoclean the disc.If necessary,useaCD cleaning kit.
•Neverwriteon oraffixlabelstothe surfaceofcompactdiscs.
CAREOFTHECABINET
If the cabinetbecomesdustywipe itwithasoft drydustcloth.Donotuseanywax,
polishsprays,orabrasivecleanerson the cabinet.
