1.0 Warranty conditions
The five-year Eminent warranty applies to all Eminent products unless mentioned
otherwise before or during the moment of purchase. When having bought a second-
hand Eminent product the remaining period of warranty is measured from the moment
of purchase by the product’s first owner. The Eminent warranty applies to all Eminent
products and parts indissolubly connected to and/or mounted on the main product.
Power supply adapters, batteries, antennas and all other products not integrated in or
directly connected to the main product and/or products of which, without reasonable
doubt, can be assumed that wear and tear show a different pattern than the main
product are not covered by the Eminent warranty. Products are not covered by the
Eminent warranty when subjected to incorrect/improper use, external influences
and/or when opened by parties other than Eminent.

has undergone extensive testing by Eminent’s technical experts. Should you
experience any problems with this product, you are covered by a five-year Eminent

2.1 Functions and features
Because of 10 distinctive power plugs the Eminent EM3971 Universal Laptop Charger
is suited for almost any laptop or TFT monitor equipped with a stand-alone power
adapter. This 3-in-1 laptop charger can be used in at home, in your car or in an
airplane with the three different connectors that come with the charger. This useful
charger also has a USB port which enables you to charge almost any USB device,
such as a telephone, MP3 player or media player.

2.2 Packing contents
The following parts need to be present in the packing:
•EM3971, 3-in-1 Universal Laptop Charger.
•10 power plugs.
•Power connector for to use at home.
•Power connector to use in the car and airplane.
•Manual.
2.3 Before you begin
1. Verify that you have set the laptop charger to the correct voltage for the device
you are using it with. Eminent is not liable for any damage, directly or indirectly,
resulting in the use of the laptop charger.
2. Only use the provided accessories in order to avoid damage.
3. Disconnect the laptop charger from the power outlet when not in use.
4. Do not use the laptop charger in combination with devices that require more than
100 Watts of power.
3.0 Using the laptop charger
Follow the instructions below to use the laptop charger.
1. Check the power input required by the device you are connecting the laptop
charger to. You can find this information on the device itself or on the device’s
original charger.

2. Select the correct voltage by using the switch located on the side of the laptop
charger.
If your device uses less than 15 volts, it is not recommended to use it in combination
with the laptop charger.
If none of the supplied power plugs fits on your laptop, please send an e-mail to
support@eminent-online.com. Note the model number of the Eminent laptop charger,
brand and model of the laptop, a picture of the receipt and your address. You will then
receive a fitting power plug within a few working days.
3. Select the correct power plug and connect it to the extension plug of the laptop
charger. If the correct voltage is not available on the laptop charger, use the
voltage just below it. (See also chapter 4.)
4. Connect the extension plug with the power plug to the device.
5. Connect the supplied power cable to the laptop charger.
6. Connect the plug of the supplied power cable to a power outlet. One of the
voltage LED’s, corresponding to the setting of the voltage switch, will be lit.
7. Switch on the connected device.
Caution! If you use the laptop charger on a 230Volt power outlet, you can use the
power cable for home use that is included in the package. If you use the laptop
charger in the car or in an airplane, you should use the included 12Volt power cable or
the cable with the 4 pin airplane connector.
To prevent overheating, do not cover the laptop charger and do not leave the laptop
charger in the laptop bag while using it.
3.1 Using the USB port
The laptop charger is fitted with a USB connector that allows you to connect a USB
device. The USB connector supplies 5 Volt @ 1 Amperes and can be used to charge
USB devices such as mobile phones, MP3 players or media players.
4.0 Frequently asked questions
Q. None of te voltage LEDs on the laptop charger lights up.
A. Check if there is power on the outlet you have connected the charger to. You can
try connecting the laptop charger to another power outlet if needed.
Q. The connected device does not receive power from the laptop charger.
A 1. Check if you use the correct power plug.
A 2. Check if the correct voltage is selected and if you are using the correct power
plug.

Q. My device requires a voltage that I cannot select on the laptop charger.
A. Select the closest lower voltage. Example: Your laptop needs 17V, select 16V.
Do not connect devices that use less than 14 volts of power.
Q. Can I use my laptop charger in an airplane without any troubles?
A. You can use the laptop charger in an airplane with the included airplane power
cable with the 4 pin connector. Pay attention to the fact that a maximum power of
75W is available in most airplanes.
