Zum Kauf dieses EMPHASER Nachrüstsystems für Mercedes-Benz Fahrzeuge.
Falls Sie beabsichtigen das System selbst einzubauen bitten wir Sie, sich eingehend mit
den nachfolgend im Detail beschriebenen Montage- und Einstellmöglichkeiten dieses Laut-
sprechersets vertraut zu machen.
Falls Sie weitere Fragen zu diesem Lautsprechersystem haben, lassen Sie sich von Ihrem
EMPHASER Händler beraten.
LIEFERUMFANG
Kontrollieren Sie, ob sich alle unten gelisteten Teile in der Verpackung befinden. Das System
besteht aus folgenden Einzel-Komponenten:
■ 1 Coaxiallautsprecher
■ 1 Hochpass-Frequenzweiche
■ 1 Bedienungsanleitung
MONTAGE
Dieses Set ist kompatibel mit einer Vielzahl von Mercedes-Benz Fahrzeugen. Für eine
schrittgenaue Anleitung zur korrekten Demontage der originalen Lautsprecher Ihres Fahr-
zeuges wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihre Mercedes-Benz Servicewerkstatt. Exemplarisch für
alle Modelle soll folgende Anleitung für das Modell Mercedes-Benz C205 dienen.
Hebeln Sie vorsichtig mit einem breiten Kunststoffkeil die Abdeckung des Center-Laut-
sprechers ab. Fangen Sie im vorderen Bereich an und arbeiten Sie sich Stück für Stück zur
Windschutzscheibe vor. An den mit Rechtecken markierten Stellen ist die Abdeckung mit
Klipsen befestigt.
Der originale Lautsprecher ist an drei Punkten auf die Verkleidung gesteckt. Nutzen Sie
gegebenenfalls einen Plastikkeil zum heraushebeln des Lautsprechers. Nutzen Sie zum
Entriegeln der Anschlussstecker entweder einen schmalen Schraubenzieher oder eine
Büroklammer.
Anschluss-Variante 1:
Sollte der originale Center zwei Anschlüsse besitzen, schliessen Sie das Kabel für die SOS-
Notruf Funktion unbedingt ohne beiliegende Frequenzweiche an, da sonst eine Fehlermeldung
im Radio-Display erscheint. Diese Fehlermeldung erlischt wieder automatisch, sobald der
Lautsprecher korrekt (also ohne Weiche) an das SOS-Kabel angeschlossen wurde.
Anschluss-Variante 2:
Sollte der originale Center nur einen Anschluss besitzen (nur SOS Funktion), schliessen
Sie das Kabel für die SOS-Notruf Funktion unbedingt ohne beiliegende Frequenzweiche
an, da sonst eine Fehlermeldung im Radio-Display erscheint. Diese Fehlermeldung erlischt
wieder automatisch, sobald der Lautsprecher korrekt (also ohne Weiche) an das SOS-Kabel
angeschlossen wurde.
An das zweite Terminal am EM-MBC1 schliessen Sie entweder das originale Lautsprecher-
kabel mit der beiliegenden Frequenzweiche an, oder verbinden es mit dem Kabel aus ihrem
zusätzlichen Verstärker.
Verstauen Sie die Kabel und Weiche und legen den Lautsprecher auf die drei Aufnahme-
löcher. Drücken Sie nun den Lautsprecher an den Enden mit den Befestigungskugeln in die
Aufnahmelöcher bis sie fest eingerastet sind. Montieren Sie die Abdeckung. Legen Sie die
Klipse der Abdeckung dafür passend auf die jeweiligen Löcher und drücken Sie Abdeckung
vorsichtig nach unten, bis die Klipse einrasten.

If you plan on installing this speaker system by yourself, please read the following instructions
carefully before you attempt the installation.

SET CONTENT
Carefully remove the loudspeakers, crossovers and the accessories from the gift box and
check whether all parts are in good undamaged condition, and match with the set contents
listed below:
■ 1 Coaxial speaker
■ 1 highpass crossover
■ 1 manual
ASSEMBLY
This set is compatible with a variety of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. For step by step instructions
on how to disassemble the original loudspeakers of your specific vehicle correctly, please
contact your Mercedes-Benz service workshop. The following instructions for the C205
model are to serve as an example for all models.
Gently lever the center speaker cover off with a wide plastic wedge. Start at the front and
work your way to the windscreen piece by piece. The cover is attached with clips in the places
marked with rectangles.
The original speaker is plugged in at three points on the panel. If necessary, use a plastic
wedge to lever out the speaker. To unlock the connectors, use either a small screwdriver or
a paper clip. Connect the supplied crossover to the original connection cable (gray / gray
black) and the other end to one of the two connection terminals of the EM-MBC1.
Connection variant 1:
If the original center speaker has two connections, you must connect the cable for the SOS
emergency call function without the included crossover, otherwise an error message will
appear in the radio display. This error message disappears automatically as soon as the
loudspeaker has been correctly connected (i.e. without the crossover) to the SOS cable.
Connection variant 2:
If the original center has only one connection (SOS function only), you must connect the cable
for the SOS emergency call function without the included crossover, otherwise an error mes-
sage will appear in the radio display. This error message disappears automatically as soon as
the loudspeaker has been correctly connected (i.e. without the crossover) to the SOS cable.
For the second terminal, you either connect the original speaker cable with the provided
crossover to the EM-MBC1, or connect it with the cable from your additional amplifier directly.
Stow the cables and crossovers and place the speaker on top of the three mounting holes.
Now push the speaker at the ends with the mounting balls in the mounting holes until they
are firmly locked.
Mount the cover. To do this, place the clips of the cover on the corresponding holes and
gently push the cover down until the clips snap into place.

Dear customer
Keep the original packing for later use and read the warranty specifications below carefully.
Should your EMPHASER product require warranty service, please return it to the retailer from whom
it was purchased or the distributor in your country. Should you have difficulty in finding an authorized
EMPHASER service center, details are available from your local distributor.
This EMPHASER product is warranted against defective materials and defects caused during ma-
nufacturing for a period of two years from date of purchase, to the original purchaser. Warranty work
will not be carried out unless the warranty certificate is presented together with the original sales slip.
WARRANTY LIMITATIONS
This warranty does not cover damages due to:
1. incorrect audio or power connection(s).
2. exposure to excessive humidity, fluids, sun rays or dirt and dust.
3. damage by accidents or mechanical shock.
4. abuse, unauthorized repair attempts and modifications not explicitly authorized by the manufacturer.
This warranty is limited to the repair or the replacement of the defective product at the manufacturer’s
option and does not include any other form of damage, whether incidental, consequential or other-
wise. The warranty does not cover any transport costs or damages caused by transport or shipment
of the product.

Bei Schwierigkeiten, ein geeignetes EMPHASER Service-Center zu finden, erhalten Sie bei Ihrem
jeweiligen Landes-Vertrieb weitere Informationen.
Der Hersteller gewährleistet auf dieses EMPHASER Produkt bei Material- oder Herstellungsfehlern
zwei Jahre Garantie an den Erstkäufer, geltend ab Kaufdatum der ausgestellten Rechnung. Garantie-
Ansprüche können nur mit einer korrekt und vollständig ausgefüllten Garantie-Karte zusammen mit
dem Original-Kaufbeleg geltend gemacht werden.
GARANTIE-EINSCHRÄNKUNGEN
Nicht unter Garantie fallen Schäden infolge von:
1. inkorrekten Audio- oder Stromanschlüssen.
2. schädlichen Einwirkungen von übermäßiger Feuchtigkeit, Flüssigkeiten, Hitze,
Sonneneinstrahlung oder starker Verschmutzung.
3. mechanischer Beschädigung durch Unfall oder Stössen.
4. Schäden durch nicht autorisierte Reparaturversuche oder nicht durch den Hersteller
ausdrücklich autorisierte Modifikationen.
Die Garantie dieses Produkts bleibt in jedem Fall auf die Reparatur bzw. den Ersatz (Entscheidung
durch Hersteller) des jeweiligen EMPHASER Produkts beschränkt. Schäden durch unsachgemäße
Verpackung und daraus resultierende Transportschäden werden nicht durch diese Garantie abge-
deckt. Jeder über diese Garantie-Erklärung hinausgehende Anspruch und jede Haftung für direkte
oder indirekte Folgeschäden werden ausdrücklich abgelehnt.
