NOTE: To ensure optimal reliability and to meet warranty requirements, the IQ System Controller must be
installed and/or stored according to the instructions in this guide.
NOTE: The IQ System Controller is compatible only with the IQ Gateway or Envoy S-metered communications
gateway properly fitted with USB hub, USB radios, and production and Consumption/PCS CTs. The IQ Gateway
is required for operation of the IQ System Controller. Earlier versions of the Enphase IQ Gateway
communications gateway are incompatible.
NOTE: The Enphase IQ System Controller is intended to operate with an Internet connection through the IQ
Gateway. Failure to maintain an Internet connection may have an impact on the warranty. See Limited
Warranty for full terms and services (enphase.com/warranty).
NOTE: When replacing an Enphase IQ System Controller, you must replace it with an IQ System Controller of
the same type, with the same AC current rating.
NOTE: Properly mount the IQ System Controller. Ensure that the mounting location is structurally suited to
bearing theweight of the IQ System Controller.
NOTE: During use, storage, and transport, keep the IQ System Controller:
•Properly ventilated
•Away from water, other liquids, heat, sparks, and direct sunlight
•Away from excessive dust, corrosive and explosive gases, and oil smoke
•Away from direct exposure to gas exhaust, such as from motor vehicles
•Away from falling or moving objects, including motor vehicles. If mounted in the path of a motor vehicle, we
recommend a 91cm (36-inch) minimum mounting height.
•In a location compliant with fire safety regulations
•In a location compliant with local building codes and standards
NOTE: While IQ System Controller provides capability for connection of a generator, it does not presently
support use withgenerators. Do not attempt to connect a generator until IQ System Controller is ready to
support a generator. This functionality is reserved for future use and will require an upgrade process to be
followed by a qualified electrician.
NOTE: IQ System Controller is not suitable for use as service equipment in Canada.
Unboxing the new IQ System Controller unit
WARNING: Risk of injury. Take care when lifting. The IQ System Controller is heavy 38.5
kg (85 lbs). WARNING: Risk of injury and equipment damage. Avoid dropping the IQ
System Controller. Doing so may create a hazard, cause serious injury, and/or damage
the equipment.
When unboxing the new IQ System Controller unit, follow the instructions in the QIG to carefully
unbox the unit from the carton box without damaging it since the same box should be reused for
shipping back theold RMA’d IQ System Controller unit to Enphase.
Delete existing IQ System Controller using Enphase Installer App
When replacing an IQ System Controller on site (RMA) the old IQ System Controller must be deleted
using Enphase Installer App. There would be a Serial Number of IQ System Controller based on
which the RMA request is raised. Use theSerial No. to identify the IQ System Controller at site.
1. Don’t power down system until instructed later in the process.
2. Confirm that all the devices are powered ON.
3. Install Installer Enphase App using the below links:

oAndroid
4. Log in to the application using Enphase Installer credentials.
5. Search for the system in the Enphase App.
6. Tap on the system and make sure the IQ System Controller to be deleted is part of the system.
7. Connect to the IQ Gateway using AP mode and Go to Step 4 (IQ Gateway Connectivity) to
confirm thedevice is connected to the IQ Gateway. Also make sure IQ Gateway is
connected to Enphase App either through Wi-Fi, Ethernet or Cellular.
8. Go to Devices and Array (Step 2) and select and delete IQ System Controller as
shown in images below. The device will be removed from Enphase App and will be
synced to ITK after IQ Gatewayreports the deletion.
