Eingangsempfindlichkeits-Potentiometer zur Anpassung des Amp Moduls an die
Ausgangsspannung des Steuergeräts.
PHASE
Phasen Schalter um die akustische Phase des Subwoofers um 180° zu drehen.
INPUT LEVEL
Schiebeschalter für die Grobanpassung der Eingangsempfindlichkeit. Zwei mögliche
Einstellungen.
„Lo“ > Für Systeme, in denen das Musiksignal am Lausprecher abgenommen wird.
„Hi“ > Für Systeme, in denen das Headunit über einen Cinch Preamp Line Out verfügt.
AUTO TURN ON
Schiebeschalter mit drei möglichen Einstellungen. Siehe auch Kapitel Einstellungen.
„REM“ > Für Aftermarket Nachrüstgeräte, die über einen REM Ausgang verfügen.
„DC OFFSET“ > Für offsetbasiertes Einschaltsignal bei Signalabgriff über Lausprecher.

REM EINGANGSTERMINAL
Eingang für den Anschluss des Kabels der Basspegelfernbedienung. Der Anschluss der
Fernbedienung über die 3.5mm Klinkenbuchse überbrückt den GAIN Regler (und setzt ihn
ausser Funktion).
AUDIO INPUT
4-poliger Molex Stecker für den Anschluss einer Cinchletung vom Headunit über den
mitgelieferten Adapter oder für Lautsprecher Abgriff.
FUSE
Doppelsicherungshalter für zwei Kfz-Standard ATC Sicherungen mit je 10A (rot). Falls die
Sicherung ausgelöst wurde, dürfen nur 10A Typen (rot) ersetzt werden!
POWER BLOCK
Stromanschluss Block für die Verkabelung der Stromzufuhr.
„“ > Für das Massekabel, welches mit der Karosserie verbunden werden muss.
„REM“ > Für das Remotekabel, welches mit dem Remoteausgang des
Steuergeräts zu verbinden ist.

POWER / PROTECT LED
Die LED zeigt den Status vom Amp Modul mit mit zwei Farben an.
„BLAU“ > Amp Modul an und betriebsbereit.
„ROT“ Endstufe an und im Schutzmodus (Überhitzung oder anderer Fehler).
BASS BOOST
Bass Boost Potentiometer, für die Anpassung der gewünschten Basanhebung im Bereich
um 40 Hz. Der Regerbereich umfasst 0 bis 12dB. 0dB heisst keine Anhebung, 12dB
bedeutet dem Bassbereich um 40 Hz wird die 12-fache Leistung zugeführt.
X-OVER
Der X-Over Regler ermöglicht die Anpassung der Tiefpass Trennfrequenz mit 12dB/Okt.
Flankensteilheit zwischen 50 Hz bis 200 Hz.

4. ELEKTRISCHER ANSCHLUSS
Entfernen Sie zu Ihrer eigenen Sicherheit und zur Sicherheit des Fahrzeugs erst das Minuskabel vom
Minus-Pol der Batterie, bevor Sie mit dem Anschluss der EBP1000A beginnen.
Hauptstromkabel
EMPHASER empfiehlt bei einer Länge von 5 m einen minimalen Kabelquerschnitt von mindestens
10 mm² Stromkabeln +12V und Masse. Diese Empfehlung garantiert eine problemlose Funktion des
Verstärkermoduls.
Der Power Stecker am Amp Modul kann für einfacheren Anschluss der Powerkabel entfernt werden.
Schliessen Sie das +12V Powerkabel am Power Terminal an.
Innerhalb der ersten 30 cm nach dem Plus-Pol Klemmenabgriff muss eine Hauptsicherung angebracht
werden. Diese dient zur Absicherung des Pluskabels gegen Kurzschluss auf Fahrzeugmasse. Verwen-
den Sie eine dem Stromkabel entsprechende Hauptsicherung, mindestens aber eine mit 30A Wert.
Schließen Sie das Minus-Kabel am Power-Stecker und an einem geeigneten Massepunkt im Fahr-
zeug an.
Achten Sie beim Massepunkt auf eine perfekt gesäuberte und blanke Metalloberfläche im Fahrzeug.
Schlechte Massepunkte sind die Hauptursache für Betriebsstörungen und fehlende Leistung.
Cinchkabel
Für beste Einstörfestigkeit sollten nur hochwertige geschirmte oder sogenannte „Twisted-Pair“
Cinchkabel verwendet werden. Die signalführenden Cinchleitungen müssen soweit wie möglich von
„elektrischen Störsendern“ wie Bordcomputer, Benzinpumpe, Blackboxes verlegt werden.
Verlegen Sie das Cinchkabel vom Headunit zum Amp Modul. Falls das Steuergerät nicht über einen
Cinchausgang verfügt, müssen Sie das benötigte Signal von den Lautsprecher Leitungen abgreifen.
Schneiden Sie hierzu die beiden Cinchstecker am Eingangsadapter ab.
Cut
Verbinden Sie die Kabel vom Adapter wie folgt mit den entsprechenden Lautsprecher Kabeln in
Fahrzeug:

Remote Kabel
Wenn Sie ein Cinchkabel vom Headunit zum Aktivmodul ziehen, muss auch das REM-Schaltspan-
nungskabel nach hinten an das Amp Modul gezogen werden. Schliessen sie dieses Kabel am Power
Stecker an das mittlere mit REM bezeichnete Terminal an.
Fernbedienungskabel Basspegel Fernbedienung
Finden Sie einen geeigneten Montageort für die Basspegelfernbedienung. Verlegen Sie das Signal-
kabel der Fernbedienung vom Steuergerät zum Verstärkermodul. Verbinden Sie den Stecker von
der Basspegel Fernbedienung mit dem entsprechenden Eingang am Amp Modul.
Bitte beachten: Anschluss der Basspegel Fernbedienung setzt GAIN Regler ausser Betrieb.
Wenn die Verkabelung beendet ist, schliessen Sie den Stromkreis durch Anbringen der negativen
Polklemme an der Batterie. Schalten Sie das Steuergerät an. Die Status LED am Amp Modul sollte
blau leuchten. Wenn die LED rot leuchtet, gehen Sie alle Installationsschritte nochmals durch.

5. EINSTELLUNGEN
Signal Modus
■Wenn Sie für die Ansteuerung des EBP1000A ein Aftermarket Headunit, Moniceiver oder Navi-
ceiver mit Cinch Line Out und Remote Signal nutzen, stellen Sie den INPUT LEVEL Schalter auf „Lo“.
■Wenn Sie für die Ansteuerung des EBP1000A ein OE CD-Radio, OE Navigation o.ä. nutzen,
welches nicht über Cinchausgang und Remote Leitung verfügt, stellen Sie den INPUT LEVEL auf „Hi“.
Auto Turn On Modus
Die Einstellung „REM“ welche die +12V Schaltspannung von einem Aftermarket Headunit nutzt, ist
die zuverlässigste Methode diesen Aktivsubwoofer ein- und auszuschalten. Falls das Amp Modul
über den High-Level In (also Lautsprecherabgriff) angesteuert werden soll, sind zusätzliche Modi
vorhanden, über die der interne Verstärker gesteuert werden kann.
Stellen Sie den X-OVER Regler ca. auf 12 Uhr – d.h. die Tiefpasstrennfrequenz ist für die GAIN
Einstellung auf ca. 120 Hz voreingestellt.
Drehen Sie jetzt den GAIN Regler am Verstärkermodul im Gegenuhrzeigersinn auf die Minimalposi-
tion. Drehen Sie den Lautstärkeregler Ihres Steuergeräts auf ca. halbe Maximallautstärke. Erhöhen
Sie durch drehen des GAIN Reglers im Uhrzeigersinn langsam die Empfindlichkeit, bis sich genug
Bassanteil in der Musik einstellt.
Drehen Sie nun den Gain-Regler vom Verstärkermodul langsam (Achtung! Langsam!) im Uhrzei-
gersinn auf, bis Sie gerade die Verzerrungsgrenze im Bassbereich wahrnehmen. Dann drehen Sie
den Gain-Regler gerade soweit zurück, bis die Verzerrungen wieder verschwinden.
Tiefpass Trennfrequenz
Justieren Sie den X-OVER Regler von der 12 Uhr Einstellung im Uhr- bzw. Gegenuhrzeigersinn,
bis Sie den für Sie besten Kompromiss einer satten und trockenen Basswiedergabe erzielt haben.
Phase
Testen sie die 0° und die 180° Stellung des Phasen Schiebeschalters aus. Eine der beiden Schalter-
stellungen führt zu präziserem und etwas lauterem Bass im Bereich um 100 Hz.

Eingangsempfindlichkeit
Die korrekte Eingangsempfindlichkeitseinstellung ist wichtig für die Ausnutzung des optimalen Dy-
namikspielraumes und beeinflusst auch die verzerrungsfrei erzielbare Maximallautstärke.
ACHTUNG! Stellen Sie alle Klangregler am Headunit, also BASS, TREBLE und Loudness oder
USER-EQ Presets in die Neutral- oder Nullposition, bevor Sie mit der Einstellung der Eingangsemp-
findlichkeit beginnen.

1 INPUT GAIN CONTROL
Input level control potentiometer to adjust the input gain of the active subwoofer to match
with the head-unit output voltage.
2 PHASE
Two position slide switch to adjust the acoustical phase of the bass signal.
3 INPUT LEVEL
Input level control to match the output voltage of the head-unit’s RCA line-outs to the
amplifier input section.
„Lo“ for systems that provide an RCA preamp line out signal to the amp module input.
“Hi” for systems that provide speaker high level signal to the amp module input.
4 AUTO TURN ON
Slide switch with three positions:
“REM” > For aftermarket headunits featuring a REM output (+12V control voltage for amps)
“DC OFFSET” > For offsetbased signal and wiring using high-level inputs of the OE radio.
“AUDIO” > For RCA input but without REM control voltage.
5 REM PORT
Input terminal to connect the cable of the bass level remote control to the amp module.
Connecting the bass level remote to the 3.5mm jack at the amp module will bridge and
thus override the GAIN control.
6 AUDIO INPUT
4-pin Molex connector to plug in the input cable extension – for RCA or High-level stereo
signal input of the amp module.
7 FUSE
Double fuse holder for two single 10A (red) standard automotive ATC fuses. Do not use any
other current rating than 10A (red) if these fuses need to be replaced.
8 POWER BLOCK
Removable power input terminal, for three wires:
“” > Terminal to connect the power wire to the vehicle chassis ground.
“REM” > Terminal to connect the wire from the REM output of the headunit, when the RCA
preamp audio of the headunit is used to drive the active sub.
“” > Terminal to connect the power wire to the positive pole of the battery.
9 POWER / PROTECT LED
Status LED signaling the operational status of the amp with two LED colors:
“BLUE” > Amp is ON and ready for bass playback.
“RED” > Amp is on, but has been overheating or another fault condition prevents the amp
from normal operation.
10 BASS BOOST
Control potentiometer to adjust the bass boost in the 40 Hz range. Adjustment range goes
from 0dB (no boost) to 12dB (12times higher amplifier output).
11 X- OV E R
The x-over control allows to set the 12dB/Oct. lowpass filter cut-off frequency between 50
Hz and 200 Hz.

4. ELECTRICAL WIRING
Attention! Disconnect the negative battery clamp before you start any wiring work!
Main Power Cables
EMPHASER recommends a minimum power cable cross-section (for 5m total length) of no less than
10mm² for both the main and the ground power cables. This does guarantee trouble-free operation.
Cross sections too low will cause the amp module to overheat.
You can remove the power connector from the amp module, for the connection of both the +12V
and GND power wires.
Connect the +12V power cable and tighten up the screw of the terminal. Now proceed with the
ground wire. To protect your vehicle against shorting and resulting fire hazards, you must insert a
main-fuse holder within the first 30 cm of cabling in the engine compartment.
Choose a ground point in the vehicle, not too far away from the amp terminal. The ground contact-
point must be solid and clean, e.g. free from rust or paint etc.
If your headunit offers a REM or P.CNTR out, route a wire back to the amp module and connect it
to the center terminal (REM) of the power connector.
RCA Interconnects
For best sound quality and noise immunity. use shielded or twisted-pair RCA interconnects. Note
that RCA interconnects should be routed away from electrical devices or power cables of the vehicle.
Run the audio signal interconnects from the head-unit or dashboard to the amp module. Connect
the RCA plugs of the interconnect to the preamp line outs of your head-unit and to the input of the
adapter, connected to the amp module.
If your headunit does not offer RCA line outs, you must wire up the audio-in interface to the existing
loudspeaker wiring.
Cut
Connect as follows – to the corresponding speaker wires:
White to the left (+)
White/black to the left (-)
Grey to the right (+)
Grey/black to the right (-)
External Bass Level Remote Control
Chose a convenient mounting location for the bass level remote control, that offers easy access for
adjustment. With mounting location selected, you must run the control wire to the amp module and
connect the plug to the respective control port.
Note: Connecting the remote to the amp module will override the GAIN control on the amp module.
With the wiring completed, reconnect the negative battery lead.
Switch on your head unit. The blue status LED of the amplifier should turn on. If the LED is lit red,
re-check all connections because something was not wired up properly.

5. ADJUSTMENTS
Input Mode
■If you control the EBP1000A via an aftermarket head unit, or Moniceiver naviceiver with RCA line
out and use remote signal, set the INPUT LEVEL switch to “Lo”.

■If you control the EBP1000A an OE CD radio, OE navigation use, which does not have RCA output
and remote administration, set the INPUT LEVEL to “Hi”.
Auto Turn On Modus
The setting of “REM” which uses the +12 V switching voltage of an aftermarket head unit, the most
reliable method is this active subwoofer on and off. If the amplifier module via the high-level in (ie
Lautsprecherabgriff) is to be controlled, additional modes are present, through which the internal
amplifier can be controlled.
Input Sensitivity
For best sound quality and dynamics, correct input sensitivity adjustment of the amp module is
mandatory. The input gain is responsible for signal to noise ratio and the maximum distortion free
bass output of the active subwoofer.
ATTENTION: Before you start any adjustment on the amp module, set all tone controls of your
headunit to their neutral or flat position, e.g. BASS, TREBLE and Loudness as well as User EQ presets.
Set the X-OVER potentiometer to 12 o’clock (for approx. 120 Hz lowpass frequency).
Set the GAIN in the anti-clockwise position. Turn up the volume of your headunit to about 50% of
max. output. Slowly increase the GAIN potentiometer setting by turning the knob clockwise, until
you hear a balanced sound with sufficient bass.
Lowpass Frequency
Finally, you can fine tune the lowpass cut-off frequency on the amp module. To fine adjust the upper
bass reproduction of your subwoofer, turn the X-OVER potentiometer out of its 12 o’clock position.

Phase
Now check both slide switch positions of the PHASE control. Compare the bass reproduction on the
drivers seat resulting from each position of the switch. One setting, i.e. either 0° or 180° will give you
more bass, a better (more precise) bass or even both. This is the correct setting that shall be kept.

Dear customer
Keep the original packing for later use and read the warranty specifications below carefully.
Should your EMPHASER product require warranty service, please return it to the retailer from whom it
was purchased or the distributor in your country. Should you have difficulty in finding an authorized
EMPHASER service center, details are available from your local distributor.
This EMPHASER product is warranted against defective materials and defects caused during manuf-
acturing for a period of two years from date of purchase, to the original purchaser. Warranty work
will not be carried out unless the warranty certificate is presented together with the original sales slip.
WARRANTY LIMITATIONS
This warranty does not cover damages due to:
1. incorrect audio or power connection(s).
2. exposure to excessive humidity, fluids, sun rays or dirt and dust.
3. damage by accidents or mechanical shock.
4. abuse, unauthorized repair attempts and modifications not explicitly authorized by the manufacturer.
This warranty is limited to the repair or the replacement of the defective product at the manufacturer’s
option and does not include any other form of damage, whether incidental, consequential or
otherwise. The warranty does not cover any transport costs or damages caused by transport or
shipment of the product.

Der Hersteller gewährleistet auf dieses EMPHASER Produkt und Material- oder Herstellungsfehler
zwei Jahre Garantie an den Erstkäufer, geltend ab Kaufdatum der ausgestellten Rechnung. Garantie-
Ansprüche können nur mit einer korrekt und vollständig ausgefüllten Garantie-Karte zusammen mit
dem Original-Kaufbeleg geltend gemacht werden.
GARANTIE-EINSCHRÄNKUNGEN
