Introduction
This owner’s guide shows you how to install, maintain and generally get the most from your l-shaped
thermostatic shower valve. Please retain this document for future reference. We recommend
installation by a qualified plumber only.
Operating Specification
Pressure
§ Minimum working pressure – 0.5 bar
§ Recommended working pressure 1 – 3 bar
§ Maximum working pressure – 5 bar
Pressure above 5 bar must be reduced via a pressure reducer. To maximize efficiency of the valve, the
operating pressures should be balanced.
Water Temperature
§ Hot water supply maximum temperature - 85°C
§ Hot water supply recommended temperature - 65°C
§ Cold water supply - 10°C - 25°C
IMPORTANT. A minimum 10°C difference between outlet temperature and hot supply temperature
must be maintained at all times.
Pre-installation notes
Before proceeding, please note:
§ The valve must be installed in compliance with local water authority byelaws and water supply
byelaws.
§ Read all the instruction manual before proceeding.
§ Only begin the installation when you have all the necessary tools ready.
§ Please check that all the components are in the shower valve box.
Aftercare
When installing or using tools, extra care must be taken to avoid damaging the finish or the fitting. To
maintain the appearance of this fitting, please ensure it is cleaned regularly using a clean soft damp
cloth only. Abrasive cleaners or detergents must not be used as they may cause surface deterioration.

INSTALLATION
(See diagram)
§ Prepare the supply pipes ensuring the pipework is parallel and set at 45mm centres.
§ The pipework must be flushed prior to installation.
§ After flushing the pipework, install the mixer as a standard exposed fitting, with the outlet
facing downwards.
§ The hot supply pipe must be connected to the hot inlet of the mixer, indicated by the red dot.
§ Place the trim plate and seals over the brass tails.
§ Offer the valve to the wall and place the tails through the holes in the wall.
§ From the rear connect the back nuts and tighten up to the rear, ensuring the valve is vertical.
§ Secure the valve into position and connect to the water supply pipes, ensuring a good watertight
seal is created.
§ Once secured and connected, turn on water supply and check for leaks.

OPERATION & SETTING
To control the temperature of the shower, turn the top handle anti-clockwise for more hot water and
clockwise for colder water.
The shower is set with a stop temperature (red button) of 38°C, if this is not hot enough the user can
override this by pressing the red button and turning the handle.
To control the flow of water turn the side handle to regulate the flow of water from the shower.
If on installation the temperature is not to your requirement, this can be re-calibrated:
§ Turn temperature handle to the stop.
§ Remove the handle cap 19A, followed by screw 1A.
§ Pull handle 21 from mixer.
§ Turn the spindle on the thermostat until the desired temperature is reached.
Once the temperature is reached, replace the handle so that the stop is in the maximum
position, replace screw and handle cap.
NOTE: always maintain the 10°C difference between supply and mixed
NOTE: re-calibration should only be carried out when absolutely necessary

replace if faulty.
§ Remove the filters from the tails and clean under warm water.
§ Replace all components in the order shown in the parts drawing.
§ Refit the tails ensuring they are fully inserted and secure the grub screws
§ Reconnect mixer, turn on water supply and check for leaks.

§ If recalibration is required follow instructions in ‘operation & setting’.
§ Once water supply is turned on check for leaks.
To replace the flow control valve:
§ Turn off water supply.
§ Remove handle cap (19), then handle screw (1).
