WARNING
• Gaps in and around bed and rail can lead to entrapment and potentially serious injury
or death. People with diminished mental capacities or individuals with limited physical
strength are most at risk for entrapment.
• If under care of a physician or medical professional discuss your condition with them to
ensure that this piece of equipment is appropriate for your diagnosis/needs.
User Weight Limit: 300 lbs.
Please read ALL warnings before proceeding to the Assembly Instructions
• ALWAYS use the Securing Strap, failure to properly attach the Securing Strap can lead to serious injury or death.
After installation periodically check that the Securing Strap is tight and not leaving a gap between the mattress
and Hand Bed Rail.
• NEVER allow young children to use this Hand Bed Rail, intended for use with adults 18 years of age or older.
• ENSURE Home Bed Rail is tight against the mattress and at least 12½" from both the head and footboards.
Periodically check to ensure Home Bed Rail has not moved and is secure.
• ALWAYS use on a standard home bed, not for use on toddler, bunk, water, hospital, or inatable beds.
• KEEP these instructions, failure to follow these instructions could lead to serious injury or death.
• If any part of the Home Bed Rail is damaged, discontinue use IMMEDIATELY and contact either place of
purchase or Essential Medical Supply, Inc. (800-826-8423).
Thank you for purchasing the HAND BED RAIL WITH FLOOR SUPPORTS from
ESSENTIAL MEDICAL SUPPLY, INC. Before you set your Hand Bed Rail up and
start using it please read the information below. Should you have any questions after
reading this manual please contact either the place of purchase or Essential Medical
Supply, Inc. (800-826-8423) with any questions.
Intended Use: The HAND BED RAIL WITH FLOOR SUPPORTS has been designed
to help the user in and out of bed, it is not intended or designed to keep the user
conned/restrained to the bed or from falling out of bed. If you plan to use this rail
for a purpose other than described above please contact your place of purchase to
return this item and ask for an alternative solution.
Rear Extension Bar (x2)
1Take one of the Rear Extension Bars (D) and insert the end without the gold button into the threaded connector
female end of the Front Extension Bar (C), slide to desired length and partially tighten the threaded connector.
Repeat with remaining parts (C) and (D). These are going to be called “Extension Bar Assemblies” for the
remaining steps.

2Take the Hand Bar (A), while pressing in the gold button, slide the female end of the T-Bar (B) over Part (A). Slide
to desired length and ensure the gold button is protruding from an adjustment hole. Hand tighten connector.
Repeat with remaining Parts (A) and (B).

3Take one of the extension bar assemblies created in Step 1. While pressing in the gold button on Part (C) of the
assembly, slide Part (B) over Part (C) until the button engages. Repeat the process with the other side.

5Identify the gold buttons on the free end of the
T-Bars (B). Take one of the Adjustable Legs (E),
while pressing in the button slide the Adjustable
Leg (E) over the T-Bar (B) until the gold button
engages. Repeat with remaining Parts (E).

Identify the gold buttons on the end of Part (D) and
orient the buttons so they face upwards. Take the End
bar, Part (F), and while pressing in the gold buttons
on Part (D) partially slide one side of Part (F) over Part
(D). Please note that this step may require signicant
force. Repeat the process on the other side. Now,
push from the long side of Part (F) until the gold
buttons on Parts (D) engage. Tighten the threaded
connectors on Parts (C).

6Now that the Hand Bed Rail is completely
assembled, slide the unit between the mattress and
the box spring at the desired location. Adjust the
height of Part (E) by pressing in the gold buttons on
Part (B) and sliding down. Ensure that both Parts (E)
are touching the ground but not causing the other
parts to lift and that Parts (E) are at the same height.
7Take the Securing Strap (G) and disengage the
buckle. On the opposite side of the bed from where
the Hand Bed Rail is located, lift the mattress until
Part (F) is visible.

Instructions Continue On Rear
The Endurance®Hand Rail is not intended or designed to keep the user conned to bed. If the
user is at risk to roll out of bed, a hospital style bed rail should be used. The Endurance®Hand
Bed Rail is designed to help the user get in and out of bed safely.
Ensure Endurance®Hand Rail ts snugly against mattress and box spring to prevent potential
user entrapment.
ALWAYS use the Securing Strap, failure to properly attach the Securing Strap can lead to
serious injury or death. After installation periodically check that the Securing Strap is tight and
not leaving a gap between the mattress and Hand Bed Rail.

Essential Medical Supply, Inc. (“Essential”) warrants its products free from defects in materials and workmanship (“Warranty”) for a Limited Lifetime from
the date of purchase (“Warranty Period”). e Warranty extends only to the original purchaser of Essential products. If within the Warranty Period there is
a breach of Warranty as to an Essential product, such product shall be repaired or replaced at Essential’s sole discretion. is Warranty does not include any
labor or shipping costs incurred in replacement, part installation, or repair of any Essential product. ESSENTIAL’S SOLE OBLIGATION AND YOUR
EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS WARRANTY SHALL BE LIMITED TO REPAIR AND/OR REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE
ESSENTIAL PRODUCT.

Please provide the dealer’s name, address, and date of purchase, and indicate the nature of the problem and the Essential product serial number.
Upon receipt of written notication, Essential will issue a return authorization. e defective unit or parts must be returned to Essential for Warranty
inspection using the serial number as identication within thirty (30) days of the date of return authorization. DO NOT return products to Essential
without Essential’s prior written consent. Cash on delivery shipments will be refused and shipping charges must be prepaid.
Limitations and Exclusions: e Warranty shall not apply to products if 1) the Essential serial number has been removed or defaced; 2) the product has
been damaged by negligence, accident, improper operation, maintenance or storage; and/or 3) the product has been modied without Essential’s express
written consent or repaired by an unauthorized third-party (“Warranty Disqualifying Events”) include but are not limited to the addition of unauthorized
parts or attachments or damage caused by circumstances beyond Essential’s control, the occurrence of which shall be determined exclusively by Essential.
e Warranty also shall not apply to problems or defects arising from normal wear and tear on Essential products and parts, including but not limited to
rubber tips and hand grips, and failure to adhere to user instructions and safety precautions.
THE WARRANTY STATED HEREIN IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY OFFERED BY ESSENTIAL. THERE ARE NO OTHER
WARRANTIES RESPECTING ESSENTIAL’S PRODUCTS, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
ANY WARRANTY OF DESIGN, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, EVEN IF ESSENTIAL HAS BEEN
INFORMED OF SUCH PURPOSE. NO AGENT OF ESSENTIAL IS AUTHORIZED TO ALTER OR EXCEED ESSENTIAL’S WARRANTY
OBLIGATIONS AS SET FORTH HEREIN. ESSENTIAL SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF USE OF ESSENTIAL PRODUCTS.

8Take the male end of Part (G) and loop it over and
around the top of Part (F), back towards yourself.
9Lift the box spring to expose the bed frame and loop
the male end of Part (G) under and around the bed
frame towards the female end. Engage the buckle
and tighten Part (G) by pulling on both loose ends.
