1.2 Indications for use
ViMove2 is a wireless medical device system that measures,
records and analyses movement parameters of the lumbar spine
and other body regions. The system provides real-time biofeedback
in the form of visual signals encouraging appropriate postures
and movements, assisting in rehabilitation and decreasing the
recurrence of pain and dysfunction.
1.3 Warnings
None noted.
1.4 Contraindications
• Subjects with an implanted electronic device (for example a
cardiac pacemaker) should not be subjected to use unless
specialist medical opinion has first been obtained.
• Subjects with undiagnosed pain conditions.
• Subjects with diminished mental capacity or physical
competence limiting the use of the device.
• Pregnant Subjects, unless specialist medical opinion has first
been obtained.
• Subjects with a known skin condition or allergy, unless
specialist medical opinion has first been obtained.
• ViMove2 has not been validated for use on subjects with high
Body Mass Index (BMI >30) or adiposity.
1.5 Precautions
The following precautions should be observed when using the
ViMove2 device:
• Only use the unit for purposes for which it is intended.
• The operator is responsible for ensuring the safety of any
devices controlled or triggered by ViMove2 equipment or
software, or by any software or hardware receiving data from
equipment. dorsaVi Ltd equipment must not be configured or
connected in such a way that failure in its data acquisition,
processing or control functions can trigger subject feedback
stimulus that poses an unacceptable level of risk.
• All skin mounted devices used to measure lumbopelvic
movement are subject to errors due to soft tissue artifact.
Determination of the pelvic orientation using ViMove2 has not
been validated for use on subjects with high Body Mass Index
(BMI) or adiposity.
• Ensure the subject does not perform any movement that could
cause an injury or that is beyond their capacity. The assessor
should use ViMove2 at their discretion and use knowledge
about the subject’s condition to inform their decision making
when conducting each assessment to ensure safety.
• After use, the Sensor Adhesives may be a biohazard.
Following use, dispose of these materials in accordance with
accepted medical practice and any applicable local, state and
federal laws and regulations.
• Use of any equipment should be immediately terminated
upon any sign of treatment-related distress or discomfort.
• There is the potential for client injury or re-injury if there
is a function failure and the device fails to alert the client
of risk related movements. To prevent this, the device has
been programmed to alert the client / user if a signal loss
or other malfunction occurs. Ensure the client is informed
of these features and is aware they may not receive reliable
movement data if one of these warnings is shown.
• Always ask the subject about skin allergies they may have
prior to ViMove2 use. Gauge the severity of the allergy and
assess whether a reduced session on ViMove2 and / or using
a protective film on the skin prior to application, would be
safer for the subject, or whether they should not use ViMove2
at all if the allergy is of a serious nature.
• In order to reduce the risk of skin irritation, it is advised not to
wear the sensors for any more than 24 hours in any 72 hour
period.
• The sensor’s surface temperature can exceed 41°C in some
cases. Discontinue use if discomfort occurs.
• When using any dorsaVi system, please plug the power
plug directly into a wall socket. Do not plug via a power
board / power strip unless the power board has been tested
and certified to all relevant electrical safety standards and
regulations.
• Please handle the power plug and charging cable with care.
Do not twist the charging cable. If twisting of the cable or other
deformities are observed, please contact dorsaVi support.
• Batteries are not replaceable.
• The manufacturer recommends operating conditions between
0-50°C, humidity between 10%-95% and atmospheric
pressure between 700-1060hPa.
• The manufacturer recommends transportation and storage
conditions between -10-55°C, humidity between 10%-95%
and atmospheric pressure between 700-1060hPa.
• Use only with the supplied power supply.
• Not to be connected to a subject undergoing MRI (Magnetic
Resonance Imaging), Electro surgery or defibrillation.
• Operations in close proximity to shortwave or microwave
therapy equipment may produce instability in the ViMove2
output.
• Do not operate the device within 10 feet (3 meters) of powerful
radio interference producing sources such as arc welders,
radio thermal treatment equipment, x-ray machines, or any
other equipment that produces electrical sparks. Portable
and mobile RF communication equipment may also affect
this equipment.
• Radiated radio frequency electromagnetic fields can cause
performance degradation in ViMove2.
• Small parts may present a choking hazard.
• Do not clean the equipment with Acetone. Use alcohol wipes
for cleaning.

3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Before you start
Before using ViMove2 make sure you have the following:
• ViMove2 Mini Sensor kit.
• ViMove2 App (see below for installation instructions).
• Your username (email address) and password to log into ViMove2.
3.2 ViMove2 app system requirements
Devices*:
• Apple iPad models released in 2015 or newer.
iOS Version: 10.3.0 (or newer).
Free space: at least 500MB.
*If you are unsure about your iPad’s release year, please visit Apple’s support center: www.support.apple.com/en-us/HT208200
No other bluetooth devices should be connected to the iPad during use of ViMove2.
3.3 Network requirements
A working internet connection is required for first-time logins and the initial app setup process.
An internet connection is required once every 30 days to validate subscriptions.
If connections cannot be established, ensure local firewalls are configured to allow network access on ports 27017 and 433.
3.4 Software installation
ViMove2 can be download from the Apple App Store on your compatible tablet device. To download the software, open the App Store, search
for “ViMove2” and follow the prompts to download and install the software. Once the installation has finished, a “ViMove2” app icon will
appear on your home screen.
2.2 Sensor Adhesives 2.3 Sensor Overwraps
The Sensor Adhesives are used to attach
ViMove2 sensors to the client’s skin.
To attach the Adhesives, peel them off
the Adhesive roll and stick onto the
sensor. Once stuck, remove the sticker
cover on the opposite side (see diagram
to the left) and apply to the client.
Ask the client to bend forward, then push
the adhesives down firmly. This ensures
that the sensors do not pull on the skin
when the client is being assessed.
The Sensor Overwraps are used to hold
the ViMove2 sensors in place for longer
periods of time.
To apply the overwraps, peel off the
stickers on the back of the overwraps
and stick over the ViMove2 sensors in
landscape orientation.
Ask the client to bend forward, then push
the overwraps down firmly. This ensures
that the overwraps do not pull on the
skin when the client is being assessed.

6.1.6 Quick Assessment test protocol

at the bottom right hand corner of the screen to start and stop recording the movement data.
Forward Bend (Flexion)

2. Ask the client to bend back (extend) as far as comfortable and then return to standing position.
3. Repeat this movement for as many repetitions as you require.
Left & Right Bend (Lateral Flexion)
1. Ask the client to stand upright with their arms along the sides of their body.
2. Ask the client to bend sideways (flex laterally) and slide their arm along their leg as far as comfortable while avoiding any flexion /
extension, hold for 2 seconds and then return to standing position.
3. Repeat this movement for as many repetitions as you require.
Standing Pelvic Tilt
1. Ask the client to stand upright with their hands on their hips.
2. Ask the client to tilt their pelvis forward (anteriorly) and then backward (posteriorly) in a controlled manner. It may help to say “Make
an arch in your back and then flatten your back”. Ensure the client does not move their trunk.

Sitting Pelvic Tilt
1. Ask the client to sit in a chair with their back unsupported and in an upright posture.

control the movement from their pelvis while avoiding any trunk movement.

2. Once the client is sitting in their usual sitting posture, select the “Take Snapshot” button against the Usual Sitting test.
