ET 493A ESD Smoke absorber with arm ET 493 ESD
FUNCTION
The welding requires the use of flux. This flux is prin ipally omposed of a rosin
resin, and is mixed with an a tivator (organi halogen agent), whi h is ommonly
alled "pine resin". The main omponent of rosin is abieti a id (C

). In this
pro ess, noxious omponents su h as sali yli a id (HOC
6
H
4
COOH) evaporates in the
welding smoke. The fluxes ontaining large amounts of resin generate phenol
(C6H5OH) and the a tivators generate hydro hlori a id (HCL), et . Inhalation of
these harmful omponents an ause heada hes, eye irritation, et . The smoke
absorber is a produ t of new on eption, with a fan and a high-performan e arbon
filter, designed to absorb the fumes deriving from tinning.

INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Open the filter grid (4) and insert the arbon filter (5). Afterwards, lose the filter
grid, loosen the knob (2) and adjust the optimal angle for soldering. Lo k the knob
after adjustment.

For ET 493 ESD, please make sure it is stable on the workben h. The angle of the
absorber an be adjusted so as to have the optimal su tion.
For ET 493A ESD, make sure that the arm is an hored firmly to the workben h. The
position of absorber an be adjusted very easy. After use, the unit an be easily
removed, taking up little spa e.

MAINTENANCE
Repla ing the filter:
under normal working ondition, the filter an be repla ed one a month. Where
there is a de rease of the absorption apability. The filter an also be repla ed when
it is full of dust. (not wet the filter).

•Use the unit only as des ribed
•If you don’t using the devi e, please turn it off
•Don’t use the devi e if damaged, espe ially the power able or the external
ase
•Don’t immerse the devi e in liquid
•Do the regular maintenan e required (follow the instru tions in this guide)
•The hildren don’t know the risks of aused by ele tri applian es. Please, use
the devi e only under adult supervision and keep it out of rea h about
hildren
•Don’t pla e the devi e near high heat sour es (hot plates, ovens, et .) be ause
the material will melts and produ es an unpleasant smell. The absorption
shouldn’t be impeded by overing the openings with items su h as
newspapers, table loths, urtains, et .
•Don’t make leaning or maintenan e of the devi e without having
dis onne ted the power able
In ase of all these pro edures weren’t followed, the warranty will fall
IMMEDIANTELY.
