GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read these instructions before using this mitre
saw stand. Do not modify or use this stand for any
purpose other than that for which it was designed.
• Keep work area clear of obstructions and well
ventilated. Clutter makes accidents more likely.
• Consider the work area environment. Do not
use power tools in damp or wet conditions. Keep
the work area well lit.
Do not use power tools in the presence
of ammable liquids or gases.
• Keep children and bystanders away. Visitors
are a distraction and are dicult to protect and
are unlikely to have any knowledge of safety
procedures.
• Store idle equipment. Preferably in a locked dry
cupboard.
• Safety Glasses. Approved safety glasses should
be worn by the operator and any assistants when
using a mitre saw.
• Stay alert. A moments inattention when
operating power tools may result in serious
personal injury. Do not use if tired or under the
inuence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times.
STAND-SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• For maximum stability use the mitre stand only on
a at, level surface.
• Be careful when raising or lowering the stand to
prevent trapped ngers or hands.
• Ensure that the snap buttons on each leg are in
the locked position. This will ensure that the stand
remains rigid during cutting operations.
• Do not step or climb on the stand.
• Before operation ensure that the mitre saw
is securely fastened to the stand to prevent
unwanted movement of the saw.
• Ensure that the material supports are locked in
place before use.
• Do not overload the side extension arms.
• Do not use if the stand becomes damaged
in any way.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
ATTACHING THE HANDLE
Place the screws through the holes in the handle and
secure onto the end of the stand. (g.1)
DEPLOYING THE LEGS
Note: It is much easier to set up or knock down
the stand without a saw being attached.
• Squeeze the leg locking lever
(Fig. 2) to release the locking pin and deploy the
leg. Repeat on all 4 legs.
ATTACHING WORK SUPPORT ARMS
•
Screw the locking knobs in place to secure the
guide rails on each side. (Fig. 3)
• Slide the work support brackets onto the
extension arms and lock in place with a locking
knob (Fig. 4)
• Insert the work support post into the bracket and
lock in place using a locking knob. (Fig. 5)
ATTACHING THE WHEELS
Place the wheel onto the axle and secure with the
appropriate xings (Fig.6)
For Normal Cutting Operations:
• The top of the post(s) should be level with the
surface of the mitre Saw’s rotary table.
• The extension arm(s) should be positioned be
give maximum support to the workpiece.
For Repetitive Cutting Operations:
• The ‘stop face’ (Fig.X) can be raised to act as a
workpiece stop at the required distance from the
saw blade.
• Loosen the locking knob and raise the stop face
to its highest position (Fig.XX), then tighten the
locking knob. (Fig.XXX)
• The required work support should be adjusted so
that the ‘stop shelf’ (Fig. X) is level with the mitre
saw rotary table and is facing the saw.
• Adjust the relevant extension arm until the ‘stop
face’ is at the required distance.

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE SAW
MOUNTING BRACKET CLAMPING PRESSURE
The pressure exerted by the clamping mechanism
within a saw mounting bracket can be adjusted.
The clamping pressure of each bracket should
be checked before it is attached to a mitre saw.
When tted across the mitre saw stand’s two main
crossbars, and with the locking handle in the down
(locked) position, a bracket should be rm and
exhibit no signs of movement.
Excessive force to deploy the locking lever to the
down position should be avoided. Gently pressing
the lever downwards with the palm of a hand
should be all the force needed to operate the
locking lever.
To adjust the clamping pressure:
• Turn the clamp upside down to reveal the
mechanism.
• Loosen the locking nut. (Fig. 7)
• Turn the adjustment screw (Fig. 8) clockwise to
increase the clamping pressure. Turn the screw
counter-clockwise to decrease the clamping
pressure.
• Tighten the locknut when adjustment is
successfully completed.
MOUNTING EVOLUTION MITRE SAW TO THE
MITRE STAND
Note: The Evolution Mitre Saw Stand is suitable for
most Evolution Mitre Saws.
•
Attach the machine to the saw mounting
brackets using suitable bolts, washers and
locknuts etc. The locking handles must be
positioned to the front of the mitre saw. (Fig. 9)
• Ensure that the xings used do not protrude so
far through the base of the machine that they
interfere with any other parts of the Mitre Saw.
Only tighten ‘nger tight’ at this stage.
• Hook the front of the brackets over the front
of the mitre saw stands main frame tubular
crossbar.
• Push the back of the brackets down to engage
them onto the mitre saw stands crossbars.
(Fig. 10)
• Lock the brackets into place by gently
depressing the locking levers. (Fig. 11)
• If necessary re-postion the mitre saw on the
brackets so that the machines fence aligns as
near centrally with the rear tubular crossbar of
the mitre stand as possible. This will ensure the
greatest stability of the machine and mitre saw
stand during cutting operations.
• When the mitre saw is correctly positioned on
the stand, securely tighten the four (4) mounting
bolts.
MOUNTING UNUSUAL/UNCOMMON MITRE
SAWS
•
Remove and safely store the four plastic feet from
underneath the base of the mitre saw. (Fig. 12)
• Remove and safely store the stability block from
underneath the positive stop locking lever.
(Fig. 13)
If your mitre saw base does not directly align
with the mounting brackets, the supplied bracket
extension can be used.
This can be used on the front or rear of the
mounting brackets to accomodate your specic
mitre saw.
Secure the bracket extension onto the mounting
bracket using the M6 x 60mm coach bolts. (Fig.14)
Note: Usually the machine’s fence should align as
closely as possible with the centre-line of the mitre
saw stand rear crossbar.
MAINTENANCE
Never use solvents to clean plastic parts, as solvents
can damage them. Clean only with a soft, slightly
damp cloth.
