Theterm “powertool”inthewarningsreferstoyourmainsoperated(corded)power
toolorbatteryoperated(cordless)powertool.
1) Workareasafety
a) Keepworkareacleanandwelllit. Clutteredanddarkareasinviteaccidents.
b) Donotoperatepowertoolsinexplosiveatmospheres,suchasinthe
presenceofflammableliquids,gasesordust. Powertoolscreatesparks
whichmayignitethedustorfumes.
c) Keepchildrenandbystandersawaywhileoperatingapowertool.

2) Electricalsafety
a) Powertoolplugsmustmatchtheoutlet.Nevermodifythepluginany
way.Donotuseanyadapterplugswithearthed(grounded)powertools.
Unmodifiedplugsandmatchingoutletswillreduceriskofelectricshock.
b) Avoidbodycontactwithearthedorgroundedsurfacessuchaspipes,

Protectiveequipmentsuchasdustmask,non-skidsafetyshoes,hardhat,or
hearingprotectionusedforappropriateconditionswillreducepersonal
injuries.
c) Preventunintentionalstarting.Ensuretheswitchisintheoffposition
beforeconnectingtopowersourceand/orbatterypack,pickingupor
carryingthetool. Carryingpowertoolswithyourfingerontheswitchor

d) Removeanyadjustingkeyorwrenchbeforeturningthepowertoolon. A
wrenchorakeyleftattachedtoarotatingpartofthepowertoolmayresultin

e) Donotoverreach.Keepproperfootingandbalanceatalltimes. This
enablesbettercontrolofthepowertoolinunexpectedsituations.
f) Dressproperly.Donotwearlooseclothingorjewellery.Keepyourhair,

4) Powertooluseandcare
a) Donotforcethepowertool.Usethecorrectpowerforyourapplication.
Thecorrectpowertoolwilldothejobbetterandsaferattherateforwhichit
wasdesigned.
b) Donotusethepowertooliftheswitchdoesnotturnitonandoff. Any
powertoolthatcannotbecontrolledwiththeswitchisdangerousandmust
berepaired.
c) Disconnecttheplugfromthepowersourceand/orthebatterypack
from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing
accessories,orstoringpowertools. Suchpreventivesafetymeasures
reducetheriskofstartingthepowertoolaccidentally.
d) Storeidlepowertoolsoutofthereachofchildrenanddonotallow
personsunfamiliarwiththepowertoolortheseinstructionstooperate
thepowertool. Powertoolsaredangerousinthehandsofuntrainedusers.
e) Maintainpowertools.Checkformisalignmentorbindingofmoving
parts,breakageofpartsandanyotherconditionthatmayaffectthe
powertoolsoperation.Ifdamaged,havethepowertoolrepairedbefore

5) Batterytooluseandcare
a) Ensuretheswitchisintheoffpositionbeforeinsertingbatterypack.
Insertingthebatterypackintopowertoolsthathavetheswitchoninvites
accidents.
b) Rechargeonlywiththechargerspecifiedbythemanufacturer. Acharger
thatissuitableforonetypeofbatterypackmaycreateariskoffirewhen
usedwithanotherbatterypack.
c) Usepowertoolsonlywithspecificallydesignatedbatterypacks. Useof
anyotherbatterypacksmaycreateariskofinjuryandfire.
d) Whenbatterypackisnotinuse,keepitawayfromothermetalobjectslike
paperclips,coins,keys,nails,screws,orothersmallmetalobjectsthatcan
makeaconnectionfromoneterminaltoanother.Shortingthebattery

terminalstogethermaycauseburnsorafire.
e) Underabusiveconditions,liquidmaybeejectedfromthebattery;avoid

6) Service
a) Haveyourpowertoolservicedbyqualifiedrepairpersonusingonly
identicalreplacementparts. Thiswillensurethatthesafetyofthepower
toolismaintained.

Wearearprotection. Exposuretonoisecancausehearingloss.
Holdpowertoolbyinsulatedgrippingsurfaces,whenperforminganoperation
wherethedrillingaccessorymaycontacthiddenwiringoritsowncord. Drilling
accessorycontactinga“live”wiremaymakeexposedmetalpartsofthepowertool
“live”andcouldgivetheoperatoranelectricshock.
Securetheworkpiece. Aworkpiececlampedwithclampingdevicesorinaviceis
heldmoresecurethanbyhand.
WARNING
Somedustcreatedbypowersanding,sawing,grinding,drilling,andother
constructionactivitiescontainschemicalsknowntocausecancer,birthdefectsor
otherreproductiveharm.Someexamplesofthesechemicalsare:
-leadfromlead-basedpaints,

Toensurethelongestbatterylifeandbestbatteryperformance,alwayscharge
thebatterywhenthetemperatureisbetween18-24°C.Donotchargethebattery
packwhenthetemperatureisbelow0°C,orabove40°C.Thisisimportant.
Failuretoobservethissafetyrulecouldcauseseriousdamagetothebattery
pack.
Donotincineratethebatterypackevenifitisseriouslydamagedorcanno
longerholdacharge.Thebatterypackcanexplodeinafire.
Asmallleakageofliquidfromthebatterypackmayoccurunderextremeusage
ortemperature.Thisdoesnotnecessarilyindicateafailureofthebatterypack.

Thebeststorageplaceisonethatiscoolanddryawayfromdirectsunlightand
excessheatorcold.

Thelithium-ionbatterycanbechargedatanytimeandwillnotdevelopa“memory”
whenchargedafteronlyapartialdischarge.Itisnotnecessarytorundownthe
batterypackchargebeforerecharging.Removethebatterypackfromthetoolwhen
convenientforyouandyourjob.Youcan “top-off”yourbatterypack’schargebefore
startingabigjoborlongperiodofuse.
Duetolithium-ion’sfade-freeproperties,theonlytimeitisnecessarytochargethe
lithium-ionbatterypackiswhenthepackhasreachedtheendofitscharge.Tosignal
theendofcharge,powertothetoolwilldropquickly.Chargethebatterypackas
needed.

Thislithium-ionbatterypackisshippedpartiallycharged.Beforeusingitthefirsttime,
fullychargethebatterypack.Afullydischargedbatterypackwithatemperature
between5℃and35℃willchargeinabout70-140MIN(Seesection”Specifications”).

•Plugthechargeradapterintopowersource.Thegreenlightonthechargerstand
willilluminate,indicatingthechargerispowered.
•Slidethebatteryallthewayintothechargerstanduntilitlocksinplacewitha
click.Theredlightonthechargerstandwillilluminate,indicatingthatthebattery
ischarging.
•Theredlightwillgooffafterchargingiscompleteandagreenlightwillappear.
