POSITIONING
In its simplest terms, the Pulsar is an Infrared to Bluetooth Converter. EXOGAL has a defined
set of Infrared codes for our products, and the Pulsar converts those IR codes to the same
Bluetooth commands used by our original Bluetooth Remotes and our now-deprecated
smartphone applications. Our defined IR codes will be used in future products so our next,
current, and past products will all exist within the same control ecosystem.
Because the Bluetooth connection has a 100-meter range, it is not necessary that the Pulsar is
positioned very close to the Comet being controlled. However, the Pulsar must be positioned in
a way where it can receive the IR commands from the remote. The Pulsar is manufactured
with laser-etched micro-lenses on all four sides which help capture the IR signal and bounce it
inside the Pulsar to the IR detector. This allows you to partially conceal it and take advantage
of scatters and reflections of the IR light.
Pair the Pulsar with the Comet and ensure that you have control before you attempt to “hide”
the Pulsar in your room. Once you hide it, make sure that it can receive the IR signal from any
position where you would like to control your system.
