WELCOME
!
Congratulations
, you now own the most
innovative
ventilation system on the market. EZ
Breathe®
is designed not
only
to lower humidity levels, but also to reduce moldy and musty
odors.
This ventilation appliance installed in the lowest level
of
a
home/building
is
engineered
to expel
moisture-laden
air
that
stagnated due to poor air circulation and to provide
ventilation
in lower levels,
crawlspaces,
apartments or any other areas in
need
of circulation. Cool, moist air will gravitate to the lowest
point
and without proper ventilation, create an
environment
where
the damp air will stagnate and emit odors, nurture the
development
of molds, mildew and saturate into the structure, i.e. walls,
floor,
frame work,
etc.
!
!
The EZ
Breathe®
unit’s quiet, powerful fan draws the moist
surface
air through the bottom vents and then expels it outside
through
a 6" duct. The humidistat control
continuously
monitors
the
relative humidity of the air flowing out. When the
humidity
drops to the desired level,
programmed
by you, the EZ
Br
eathe
®
unit will shut off, and then come back on again when
humidity
levels
increase.
!
“If the air is
exhausted outside,
do we
lose
any
heat?”
The answer is no. Since the EZ
Breathe®
system
eliminates only the damp, cold air at the lowest level, the
potential
for losing heat is minimal. If we go on the principle that
damp
air is harder to heat than dry air, it’s more
economical
to replace that damp air with dry air and then heat
it.
Once the EZ
Breathe®
unit has exhausted damp air outside
and
replaced it with dry air from the upper levels of your
home/
building, it will shut off. The EZ
Breathe®
unit will continue
to
monitor humidity levels
automatically
turning on and off
according
to your setting. Therefore, it exhausts the cool damp air
while
the warm dry air is
retained.

THE HUMIDISTAT
SETTINGS
!
!
This component
continuously
monitors the humidity level of the
air
being
expelled
through the EZ
Breathe®
unit. You can set this
control
to maintain the desirable level of humidity in your
home/building.
!
FOR BEST
RE
S
U
L
TS…
Set the
humidistat between
35% - 45% all
year
round.
!
!
Please note…Even though the ideal setting would be 35% - 45%
all year round, these levels of humidity, due to
environmental
conditions, may not be obtainable. When the desired level
of
humidity has been achieved, the EZ
Breathe®
unit will
automatically
turn off, and then on again as humidity level
increases.
The EZ
Breathe®
will run
continuously
until desired level has
been
reached. Don’t worry; the unit has been designed to perform
under
these conditions. During winter/cooler periods when the furnace
is
often running, the unit may shut off due to the humidistat
reaching
the desired level. During these periods, you can set the humidistat
to
it’s lowest setting and turn the fan to low. This will cause the unit
to
run on low
continuously,
providing ventilation for the space
without
exhausting heated
air
.

HELPFUL
TIPS
!
!
1. Make sure your EZ
Breathe®
unit’s settings are as
follows:
z
Humidistat
is set
between
35%-45%
year
round
z
Fan
speed
is set to
medium-high, summer
operation
z
Fan
speed
is set to
low-medium, winter
operation
.
Please note: The EZ
Breathe®
will run
continuously
until
desired
level of
humidity
has been
reached.
Don’t
worry,
the unit
has
been
engineered
to
perform under
these
conditions
!
!
2. The EZ
Breathe®
appliance is designed to pull cool, damp
air
from the lowest level, basement, or crawlspace and expel it
outside.
The EZB will draw on the most readily available air and
works
most
effectively
when that air is from your upstairs and
your
upstairs air is dry. Your upstairs air is driest when you condition
it
with your furnace or air conditioner.
Allowing your
EZ
Breathe
®
to draw air from an unconditioned source,(i.e. open windows
or
open doors) may lead to increased
humidity
. The humidity
content
of the replacement air that is being drawn down to your EZB
unit
will directly impact its
performance
causing spikes in
relative
humidity and moisture
content.
!
3. During times when you are neither heating nor air
conditioning
your home and the outdoor humidity levels are above 50%, it
is
recommended
to turn your EZ
Breathe®
unit off. Turn the EZ
B
unit back on when you turn the AC
/
heat back on or when
the
outdoor humidity drops. In order to continue the benefits
of
ventilation when you are not running your AC
/
heat, you
may
choose to run a
dehumidifier
in conjunction with your
EZB.
Remember, your EZB is always providing you benefits
by
removing odors, allergens, mold spores, gases, smoke, dust
and
radon. The best approach for
controlling
moisture and the
relative
humidity in the basement or crawlspace is to maintain your
upstairs
humidity below 50%, so EZB can do its job of pulling the good
air
from upstairs down to replace the bad air that your EZB
is
exhausting.

HELPFUL TIPS,
cont.
!
!
4. Reduce any direct
communication
from the air outside and
the
air inside your lowest
level.
z
Close
and
seal basement windows
and
doors
with
draft
tape, vapor barrier,
etc. This is an effective and
inexpensive
way to help protect your structure from humidity and
moisture
laden air coming directly inside your
home.
z
Close
and
seal
ALL
crawlspace vents.
Crawlspace
vents
are “old”
technology
and actually allow more
unconditioned
air to enter your structure, which leads to dry rot, mold
and
all manners of
decay
.
!
5. Keep storage at least 3' to 4' from the EZ
Breathe®
unit to
allow
free air flow to the
base.
!
6. Once every month inspect the intake vents on the base of
your
EZ
Breathe®
unit and the exterior vent on the outside. Make
sure
they are free from dust, lint, dirt, etc. to ensure proper
functionality
of the
humidistat.
!
7. If you have water seeping, standing, or draining into
your
foundation we
recommend
contacting a
waterproofing
professional
to inspect this serious issue. The EZ
Breathe®
unit is not
designed
to address
waterproofing
problems.
!
In some cases, our customers felt as if their EZ
Breathe®
unit
was
“no longer working” or the air in their home “doesn’t feel as fresh
as
it once did”. We asked those customers to turn their EZB unit off for
a
few days. Within 48 hours, most called back to tell us that they
already
turned their EZB unit back on as they simply forgot how bad their
air
quality used to be! So, put us to the test and turn your EZ
