Read This Manual Before Operation

Reading this instruction manual is re
quired before operating any of the machinery. The
assurance of smooth operation and full compliance of machine performance is strictly
dependent on the rigorous application of all the instructions contained in this manual.

e workers responsible for using this machine must have all necessary information,
education and receive adequate training regarding safety, including:
a)
Conditions of use for the equipment;
b)
Foreseeable abnormal situations;
pursuant to art. 73 of Legislative
Decree no. 81/08.
We guarantee the Machine's conformity to specifications and technical instructions
described in the Manual on the date of issue, listed on this page; however, the
machine may be subject to potentially major technical changes in

GENERAL SAFETY INSTR
UCTIONS
During use, maintain control of the tool.
The operators represent the most important aspect of safety. To better
protect against
the risk of injury, work cautiously and carefully.
When a fault / defect is detected, immediately disconnect the power supply cord from
the tool.
1.1
Risks Associated with the Work Area
1.
Keep unqualified people, children, etc. away from the wor
k environment and the
pneumatic tool.
2.
Only use to tool with proper lighting and visibility.
3.
Pay attention to unknown work environments and areas. The pneumatic tool is not
isolated from the power supply.
4.
Be especially careful to avoid contact with dust, ai
r jets or other pollutants. If
necessary, wear a dust mask.
5.
It is important to maintain a stable and secure position while working. Beware of air
hoses, which can cause you to trip and fall.

Risks Associated with the Presence of Rotating and/or Moving
Part

1.
Grab the pneumatic tool correctly, using the appropriate "torch" handle.
2.
Never touch t
he rotating parts of the tool,
particularly the ratchet bearing.
3.
Vibration, repetitive motions and uncomfortable positions may be harmful to your arms
and hands. Discon
tinue use of the ratchet if you experience symptoms of physical
discomfort, tingling and pain.
4.
While working, do not wear loose clothing or jewellery that could get caught in the
moving parts of the tool. Similarly, put hair back in a net or a cap.

When using the pneumatic tool, always wear the following:
Safety shoes;
Work gloves;
Hearing protection (cap, earplugs, etc.);
Protective goggles.

DESCRIPTION OF THE G
RINDER AND INTENDED
USE
The
Grinder (Art. 0570)
is a portable pneumatic tool, to be used for grinding, finishing and
bevelling small surfaces
. By changing out the abrasive tools (grinding wheels), it is possible
to grind or polish different materials, such as metals, wood and plastic.
The kit is made up of the following parts (see Figure 1):

There is an identification plate on each machine, which shows the following data:
The name and address of the manufacturer;
Model/serial number;
Year of construction;
Maximum working pressure;
Nominal rotation speed.

IMPROPER USES AND PR
ECAUTIONS
IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO:
Allow the tool to be used by untrained personnel and those who have not read the
instruction manual;
Use the tool for different purposes and uses oth
er than those for which it was designed,
i.e. grinding, smoothing, polishing and buffing;
Use the tool in humid conditions, explosive atmospheres or near flammable surfaces or
gases;
Use the tool without wearing appropriate PPE, such as footwear, gloves, h
earing
protectors and goggles;
Touch rotating parts during operation;
Use the tool in the presence of children;
Leave the compressed air supply hose inserted after work or while changing the
grinding wheel;
Point the grinder in the direction of people or a
nimals;
Block or insert objects into the air outlet grille;
Modify and/or tamper with the tool;
Use pneumatic power supplies other than as prescribed;
Place the tool in contact with electrically active objects;
Use the tool when disassembled;
Use grinding
wheels and/or brushes that are not designed for the tool's rotational
speed.
Use rotary blades or knives.

4
COMMISSIONING
1.
Remove the air inlet cap, then screw the supplied nozzle into hole (Ref. 8):

2.
Put a few drops of
lubricating oil (without resin acid) in the air inlet nozzle.
3.
Check the flexible air supply hose.
4.
If it is damaged, broken or torn it must not be connected to the tool.
5.
Check the state of the quick
-
release couplings (both on the tool
and
the hose). If sig
ns
of damage are detected,
it is broken or
excessively corroded, the tool or the flexible
hose cannot be used.
6.
The tool must be connected to the air supply source by means of an FRL air
conditioning group, consisting of a filter, pressure regulator and lub
ricator, as shown in
Figure 3.
7.
The compressed air used must be clean and with the right mix of oil. Adjust the
lubricator in such a way that it applies 3 to 6 drops of oil per minute. Furthermore, the
maximum length of the hose between the lubricator and t
he tool must be a maximum
of 6/8 meters.
8.
Insert the quick coupling of the supply hose into the air inlet nozzle at the bottom of
the handle.

Quick Coupling

that the quick coupling is perfectly connected.
Make sure that the outer ring of the quick release connector is in the correct position.
Air Pressure
To ensure proper operation and compliance with safety regulations, the operating pressure o
f
the compressed air must not exceed 600 kPa (6 bar
s
).
Higher pressures may cause damage and excessive wear of the tool.
Information for the working pressure is displayed on the tool's CE plate and in the
instructions
.
Crushing and Cutting
When connec
ting the air supply hose to the tool, while attaching the quick coupling, do not
hold down the tool's power lever.

HOW TO USE
5.1
Attaching the Abrasive Tools
Crushing and Cutting
Before attaching and/or removing the grinding wheels, always remove the air
supply hose.
Protective gloves
Before attaching and/or removing the grinding wheels, wear suitable protective gloves.
1.
Choose the grinding wheel with the desired shape and size.
2.
Insert the tool chuck into the shaft of the grinder (Figure 4/A)

Choose a tool chuck that has a central hole equal to that of the tool's shaft. For example, if
you want to use a grinding wheel with a 6mm shaft, choose a chuck with a central hole of 6
mm.
3.
Screw the spindle onto the grinder shaft, but do no
t tighten completely (Figure 4 / B).

4.
Insert the grinding tool into the spindle, inserting the shaft into the tool chuck
by at
least 10mm (Figure 5/A).
5.
Using the keys supplied, strongly and securely tighten the spindle (Figure 5/B).

Crushing and Cutting
Always be sure to insert the shaft of the grinding wheel into the hole of the tool chuck
by at least 10mm.
Always
make sure that the tool is assembled correctly while trying to manually remove
it from the grinder.
If it is too short or incorrectly tightened, the grinding wheel may suddenly release and
may hit the operator in the face or chest.

Assembling the Grinding Wheel
Always check that the grinding wheel is compatible with the pneumatic tool.
Check that the wheel is
in good condition, i.e. no cracks
and
not completely worn out, before
operating.
Make sure the grinding wheel is fully inserted and locked into the tool chuck.

5.2
Power On / Off
(Personal Protective Equipment) PPE
Before using the grinder, wear suitabl
e work clothing, gloves, shoes and protective goggles.
Also wear a mask if you work with materials that produce dust or fumes.
Also wear
protective devices for the ears (hearing protectors), such as earmuffs, earplugs,
etc..
Workspace
Be familiar with
the work area.
Always check the work area before using the grinder.
Keep the work area clean, uncluttered and well lit.
Machining
metals
,
such as magnesium
,
can lead to the formation of potentially explosive or
combustible dust or fumes; therefore, avoid
the presence of flames or hot surfaces in the
work area.
After assembling the grinding wheel and connecting the flexible compressed air supply hose,
grab the grinder by its "torch" handle.
The
Grinder

is equipped with a screw for
adjusting
the grinding wheel's rotation speed according
to the type of material: the harder the material, the
greater the speed of rotation.
Turn the grinding wheel adjustment speed screw to the
desired position, using a flathead screwdriver.

To start the grinder (to rotate the tool), press the safety lever forward with your thumb
(Figure 7/A), then pres
s the lever against the housing of the grinder (Figure 7/B).

The grinder's start lever is a continuous hold lever, in
the sense that the function controlled
(i.e., the rotation of the grinding wheel) is active as long as the lever itself is kept pressed.
Therefore, release the lever to shut it down in an emergency.
Emergency
In case of an emergency, immediately rel
ease the grinder's power lever.
Disconnect the air hose and turn off the tool in the even
t
of the following:
to replace the wheels;
to clean, rebuild or perform maintenance on the grinder;
if the grinder is not used for some time.

General Visual Inspection:
check the overall condition of the pneumatic tool,
particularly for any damaged or missing parts. Also check for the presence and
legibility of labels.

General cleaning:
cleaning is necessary to rid
the body of oil deposits, dust or dirt
accumulation.
Risks Associated with Cleaning
Disconnect the air supply hose and clean the body of the tool. Do not use organic solvents to
avoid corrosion or discolouration.
3.
Clean the air outlet nozzle:
cleaning
is necessary to free the hot air outlet nozzle
and dirt accumulation

Do not use paint thinner, gasoline, or similar substances to clean the nozzle.
4.
Lubricating moving parts:
lubricate all the gears and moving mechanical parts on
the grinder by in
serting, at least once a day, lubricating oil within the compressed air
intake nozzle.
To do this, disconnect the air hose, turn over the grinder and put a few drops of oil into
the nozzle using an oiler.
