2 GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
Risks associated with using the instrument
Each person in charge of the installation, use and maintenance of this halogen lamp, must
carefully read this manual, and in particular this chapter with information about safety, in
order to acquire full knowledge of the device.
2.1 Precautions with regard to electric shocks
Risks associated with electric shocks
Check that the switch is in the "0" position and that the power supply plug is
disconnected before touching live parts of the appliance.
Touching these parts without disconnecting the power supply plug may cause an
electric shock.
Make sure that the power supply used meets the requirements for voltage and
frequency required by the device (shown on the plate).
The use of different types of power supplies may cause an electric shock, as well as fire
or damage to the device.
DO NOT spray or pour water on the unit, this may cause an electric shock.
If water comes into contact with the unit, unplug the power plug immediately and
contact Technical Support as soon as possible.
Using the device disassembled may cause an electric shock.
Regrading the repair of the equipment contact Technical Support.
2.2 Precautions regarding installation
Risks associated with installation
Attach the unit to a solid and strong support surface: stably and securely attach the
device to the support structure or frame of the machine tool.
Install the unit as described in the instructions for use regarding the position and the
type of fixation.
DO NOT install the unit in locations subject to high and/or low temperatures (this may
damage the halogen lamp).

3 DESCRIPTION OF THE LAMP AND INTENDED USE
The Halogen lamp for machine tools (Art. 0538) is a heavy-duty, securable and
adjustable lighting fixture. The lamp is designed to illuminate the areas inside and near the
machine tools, to allow safe use of the machines themselves, in industrial plants or similar
environments.
The unit is powered by the machine tool with 24V AC voltage.

1Aluminium casing 3Glass screen
2Pedestal 4Arm with three articulated joints
The lighting apparatus is composed of:
the aluminium casing, which contains the lighting device (halogen lamp and light
socket);
the protective glass screen at the front of the tubular casing;
support system for the device (articulated arm and pedestal) and the flexible power
cable with plug.

3.1 Identification plate
The identification plate is affixed to the rear of the casing.

3.2 Arm
The lamp has five articulated joints:
1. the joint which connects the lighting body to the support arm and therefore allows the
rotation of the lamp body relative to the arm, provided with locking screw;
2. the hinge joint that connects the support of the lighting body to the upper part of the
arm, which allows the body to be tilted relative to the arm, with locking nut;
3. the intermediate hinge joint that connects the upper part of the arm to the lower part
of the arm, with locking nut;
4. the hinge joint that connects the lower part of the articulated arm with the support
element, with a locking nut which allows the arm to be tilted with respect to the
support element;
5. the joint that connects the lower part of the articulated arm with the support element,
with a locking knob, which allows the arm to be rotated with respect to the support
element.
The screw and nuts must be unlocked using tools in order to carry out the positioning of the
respective element, while for rotating the lamp (with respect to the base support it is
necessary to unscrew the knob, rotate and position the lamp and then screw the knob to
secure the lamp in position.

5 IMPROPER USE AND CONTRAINDICATIONS
The following actions described, which obviously can not cover the entire range of potential
possibilities of "misuse" of the equipment, are to be considered strictly prohibited.
IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO:
Install the unit on surfaces with insufficient strength to support its weight;
Incorrectly install the device on the machine tool and without following the detailed
instructions provided, which could result in tipping or falling during use;
Allow personnel to use the device who are insufficiently trained and who have not read
the instruction manual;
Use the device in locations subject to high and/or low temperatures;
Use the device in potentially explosive atmospheres;
Replace the bulb, as well as perform inspections and maintenance on the internal parts
of the device without checking that the switch is in "0" position and that the power cord
is disconnected;
Modify and/or tamper with the equipment's parts, wiring and circuits.
Power the device with parameters different from those required and recommended;
Throw water onto the device and/or touch it with wet hands.

6 TRANSPORTING AND MOVING
Lifting the equipment for transportation, can be done manually, by the operator. The
relatively low weight of the lamp allows it to be moved manually and safely without the
danger of injury to the operator. The operator must hold the lamp with both hands when
lifting and moving it.
7 UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS
The lamp is supplied in a cardboard box. Before disposing of the shipping carton, check you
do not to throw away parts of the machine, the instruction "sheets" or other documentation.
Standard packaging
Packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, etc.) must not be left within reach of
children as these are potentially dangerous.

8 COMMISSIONING
8.1 Power supply / connecting the device
To power the device, you must have an appropriate power cable
that takes voltage (24 V AC) from the machine tool itself.
Characteristics of the power supply cable 2 X 0.75 mm2.
For proper connection of the power cord, use isolated terminals:
Figure 5 – Power supply
Connection
Check that the cables are properly connected. In the event of connection difficulties contact
an electrician.

8.2 Installation
Install the lamp on the structure and/or on the frame of the machine tool, near the area that
is to be illuminated, using bolts and nuts to clamp it into place. To do this, drill four holes on
the machine (if not already present) arranged on the vertices of a square with 60 mm sides.
Insert the bolts into the holes on the pedestal and in the ones on the machine, respectively,
and tighten the nuts to ensure that they are strong and securely fastened.
IDEAL AND INCORRECT POSITIONS FOR PROPERLY ILLUMINATING THE WORK AREA OF THE MACHINE
TOOLS.
Figure 6 – Mounting positions of the lamps for machine tools.
The lights must be mounted in order to:
Provide the illumination required in the work area for moving parts;
Do not allow the lamp to interfere with the duties of the operator or blind the operator;
Minimize the accumulation of dirt on the lamps and spotlights;
Facilitate maintenance.

9 TURNING THE LAMP ON
After you have successfully installed the device, turn on the
lamp by moving the switch, located on the handle on top of the
cover, in position "I". At the end of the work, turn off the lamp
by putting the switch into the “0” position.

Check that plates are clearly visible and
legible X
3. General cleaning X
4. Replacing fluorescent tube If necessary
1. General visual inspection: Check the overall status of the device, particularly the
flexible power supply cable and signs of any damage or missing parts.
2. Check that plates are clearly visible and legible: the plate on the device must be
perfectly visible and legible. It is therefore necessary to keep it clean and ask for a
replacement if it is illegible.
3. General cleaning: cleaning is necessary to free the structure, the cap and the
magnifying lens of dust or dirt.
Risks associated with cleaning
Plastic materials are used in some parts of the lamp. Applying organic solvents (such as
benzene), or other chemicals for cleaning may cause deformation or discolouration.
Clean the device gently, using a soft dry cloth.
