whilst the last ones areinserted in the Overhauling Diesel Engines Manual 2nd volume.
GEARBOXEftcf/0H21-27 contains il/ustiations of the operations of removing and refitting the vari-
ous gearboxes. The procedures for overhauling the various manual gearboxes at the

INTRODUCTION
ThenewV.A.S.(VehicleAlarmSystem)radiofrequencyalarmsystemoffersvolumetricandperimetral
protection; itmonitorsthestateofthebonnet,boot,fuelflapanddoorsandthepresenceofa moving
objectintheinteriorcompartment.
Thisalarmsystemhasthefollowingdifferencescomparedwiththemodelfittedpreviously:
-newradiofrequencyreceiver,incorporatedinthefrontcentralcourtesylight,withgreenwarninglight
(LED)(theLEDwaspreviouslyred);
-radiofrequencyremotecontrol,integratedinthedifferently-shapedignitionkey;
-newalarmcontrolunitintegratedina self-suppliedsiren,whichislocatedinthefrontleftwheelarch;
-newmethodofprogrammingtheremotecontrols.
RECEIVER
Thereceiver,builtintothefrontcentralcourtesylight,isanelectronicdevicewhichcapturesthera-
diofrequencysignalemittedbytheremotecontrolandcarriesoutthefunctionsofopeningandclosing
thedoorsandactivatingthealarmcontrolunit.
Thereceiverhasa greenwarninglight(LED)(1)whichcomesonwhenitreceivesthesignal,whilethe
button(2)allowsthecodetobememorized(see"PROGRAMMING").
