SYMPTOMS
- Door will not op€rlto.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
- MainsPower not turned on.
- Control unit ON/OFF switch o{{
- Motor disengaged.
- Motor leads loose.
- Roll-up door is locked.
Lead f rom motor/gear assemblY not
connected to Remote Control Unit.
BEMEOY
- Turn on.
- Turn on (red liEht appears)
- Re-engage motor.
_ Check motor leads and micro-
switch leads. Reconnect if
required.
- Unlock door.
- Re-connect lead.
- Remove obstruction.
Motor gear obstructed.

Please read the following steP
correct fitting and operation of

Check distance between door drum
wheel and door suPPort brackets.
(rninimum clearance 1 20mm).
Check that "U" bolt securing door to
wall bracket on opposite side to that
which Firmatouch is to be f itted is
r igh t.
Remove "U" bolt assemblY on other
side.
Whilsl holding the door off supporttng
bracket, position ring gear over cenlre door
axle with teeth facrng away from door'
Ref it "U" bolt assemblY securely.

Seiect a plaslic spacer from bag of
litmenls and posilion belween ring
gear and drumwheel. Secure wilh bolt
provided. Repeat for two remarnrng
spacer.

Tighlen lhe three spacer bolts
allernately whrlsl operaltng lhe door up
and down and ensuring lhe ring gear
runs straight.
Fit axle collar againsl ring gear and
tighlen with bolt lowermosl.
Fitting manual/auto handle to base
plate. Remove the two spring clips
and f lat washers f rom support posts al
bottom o{ base plate. Fit handle and
replace washers and spnng clips.

11 The motor assembly is now ready for
fi tti ng.
With the door in fully open position,
rernove "U" bolt assembly. The
supporting wall brackets must now be
completely removed. The door at the
same time must be supported at this
end. Slide motor assembly over axle
with motor outermost and ref it
supporting wall bracket and "U" bolt
assemblV.
12 Ensure handle hangs down vertically
in the engaged position and PUsh
assembly firmly onto ring gear. Now
pull assembly back aPProximatelY
5mm away from rlng gear to allow
free movement during operation.
alternately, a little at a time. Do not
over-tighten.
111 Secure the two holding brackets to

Fittinq of conlrol unit. Hold in position on
wall, "ensuring that wires atlached, reach
motor and power supply. Mark and drill
holes. lnseh plugs and fit two lower
screws, leavtng them approximately
5mm protruding from wall Mount conlrol

ZZ on/off button at receiver.
23To adjust reversing sensitivity.
Remove plastic light cover and with a
small screw driver turn dial f ullY
clockwise. Operate door to close and
qrio bottom rail lightlY during
iownward travel, the door should
automatically reverse. lf reversing
pressure too light or too hard, turn
dial f or desired Pressure.
,1/ Fit motor assembly cover with three
1+ screws supplied.
25Check that numerical code at receiver is
identical with the code inside the hand control'
Numbers may be correspondingly changed
at will by moving small switches up or down
with a pen or similar instrument. Test
operation of remote controlwith handset'
26For RIGHT HAND installation. Carry out the
normal installation. When joining up wires at
motor:
(a) Black goes to blue and blue goes to
black,
(b) At top of motor assembly you will see tour
wires individuallY aftached to the
microswitch. Simply reverse the positions
of the topmost wires, black and red.
Finally put'Firmadoor' sticker onto
Firmadoor doors centalok (hole exposes
lock cylinder) and your Firmadoor Remote
ControlUnit is now comPlete'
