When the using the car adapter with the
Kid Tough™DVD Player (DVD player sold
separately), to prevent electric shock, do not
immerse in water; wipe clean with a damp
cloth. Do not expose the product to rain or
moisture. To reduce the risk of fire or electric
shock, carefully follow these instructions.

• Please read the booklet before first-time use. Keep these instructions for future
reference, as they contain important information.
• Use only the car adapter included with this kit or the power adapter (sold
separately) to charge the battery pack installed in the Kid ToughTM DVD Player
(sold separately). Do not use any other power adapter.
• When using the Kid ToughTM DVD Player (sold separately) with the car adapter
plugged into a DC power socket, be sure it is used where there is adequate
ventilation. To prevent overheating, keep away from heat sources such as heat
vents, direct sunlight, fire, excessive heat or other appliances that produce heat.
IMPORTANT! NEVER use the Kid ToughTM DVD Player (sold separately) without
the battery pack connected. The product will be PERMANENTLY DAMAGED if
the car adapter included in this kit or the power adapter (sold separately) is used
without the battery pack connected.
• The car adapter is not a toy.
• The car adapter includes a replaceable 2 amp automotive fuse.
• Use the car adapter only in vehicles that use a 12 volt battery. Do not use with
a vehicle that has a 24 volt battery.
• Only use the car adapter with negatively grounded vehicles.
• Unplug the car adapter from the DC power socket in your vehicle when not in
use. The Kid ToughTM DVD Player (sold separately) is not disconnected from
the power source as long as it is connected into the DC power socket.
• Do not disassemble or convert the unit(s).
• Car adapter specifications: Input 12-24VDC; Output 9V, 1500mA.
• Adults Note: Adult supervision is required. Regularly examine this product for
damage to the cord, plug, housing or other parts that may result in the risk of
fire, electric shock or injury. If the product is damaged, do not use it.

Problem Solution
No sound Headphone pin is inserted into the headphone jack.
Use the headphones or remove the headphone pin
from the headphone jack.
AV cable plug is inserted into TV connect jack.
Watch DVD on TV or remove the AV cable plug from
the TV connect jack.
Headphone splitter is inserted into the headphone
jack. Insert the headphone pin into the splitter or
remove the splitter from the headphone jack.
Battery compartment door on
the Kid ToughTM DVD Player
(sold separately) feels warm
It is normal for the battery to get warm during
charging (using the car adapter) and is not reason
for concern.
AV cable connected to DVD player,
but there is no image on TV
Make sure the input on your TV is set to INPUT
or VIDEO IN.
Make sure the audio-video pins are properly
connected to the TV (yellow for “Video In” and white
for “Left Audio In” and red for “Right Audio In”).
Car adapter does not work You may need to replace the 2 amp automotive fuse.
See “Changing the Car Adapter Fuse” section.
The DC input jack in some vehicles does not
work when the vehicle is off. Make sure your
vehicle is running.

IMPORTANT! Your TV must have audio and video input jacks.
• Plug the AV cable into the TV output jack on the Kid ToughTM DVD Player
(sold separately).
• Plug the audio-video pins on the AV cable into the matching colored input jacks
on your TV (yellow for “Video In” and white for “Left Audio In” and red for
“Right Audio In”).
• Turn your TV power ON. Slide the power switch on the Kid ToughTM DVD Player
(sold separately) ON .
• To find the picture on your TV screen, set your TV’s mode selector to INPUT
or VIDEO IN.

• Insert the pin on the car adapter into the DC input jack on the
Kid ToughTM DVD Player (sold separately). Then plug the other end of the
car adapter into the DC power socket in your vehicle.
Notes:
- Make sure your vehicle is running when using the car adapter with the
Kid ToughTM DVD Player (sold separately). Using the unit with the vehicle
turned off can drain your vehicle’s battery.
- Be sure to position the car adapter cord away from the driver.

Headphone Use
• Insert the headphone pin into the headphone jack on the Kid ToughTM DVD
Player (sold separately).
• Use the headphone splitter to use two headphone sets (additional headphones
with a 3.5 mm pin sold separately). Insert the splitter into the headphone jack
on the Kid ToughTM DVD Player (sold separately). Then insert the headphone pins
into the headphone splitter jacks.

Changing the Car Adapter Fuse
• Twist to remove the cap on the car adapter.
• Carefully remove the fuse and throw it away.
• Fit a new, 2 amp automotive fuse into the slot inside the adapter.
• Replace the cap and twist to secure.
