1. Read and understand all
safety warnings and
instructions. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may
result in serious injury or death.
Save all warnings and instructions
for future reference.
A. Always wear ANSI approved
safety goggles.
B. Always wear hearing
protection when working in
noisy environments. Prolonged
exposure to high intensity noise
can cause hearing loss.
C. Use safety equipment. Safety
shoes, hard hat, and work gloves
must be used for applicable
conditions.

D. Dress appropriately. Never wear loose
fitting clothing or jewelry when working.
Contain long hair, and keep hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts.
E. Use common sense when working.
Stay alert and concentrate when setting up
and using this Hitch Mount Vise Plate. Never
work while under the influence of alcohol,
drugs or medications.

Keep this manual for the safety warnings and
precautions. The manual offers important
information on how to assemble, use and
maintain this product. Write the product’s model
number and purchase date on the cover page
of this manual. Keep this manual (and your
purchase receipt) in a safe place.
UNPACKING
The shipment should be thoroughly inspected
as soon as it is received. The signed “bill of
lading” is acknowledgement by the carrier of
receipt in good condition or shipment covered
by our invoice. For your own protection, if any
of the goods called for on the bill of lading are
shorted or damaged, do not accept them until
the carrier makes a notation on the freight bill
of the shorted or damaged goods. Notify Flint
Hill Goods immediately if any hidden loss
or damage is discovered after receipt.

F. While setting-up and using the Hitch
Mount Vise Plate keep work area clean
and well lighted. Keep spectators and
children out of the work area. Never allow
children to play on the Hitch Mount
Vise Plate.
3. Use of the Hitch Mount Vise Plate
A. Do not modify the Hitch Mount Vise Plate
and do not use this product for purposes that
it was not designed for. The Hitch Mount
Vise Plate is designed to make a mounted
vise portable for use at job sites and
other locations where bench top mount-
ing is not available.
This Vise Plate is not
designed for power tool mounting. Not
for use as a mount for a table saw, cut-
off saw, miter saw, or any other type of
power tool.
B. Be aware of the danger of “dynamic
loading”. This situation arises when a load
is dropped onto the Hitch Mount Vise Plate,
resulting in a short term excessive load.
Dynamic loading can result in damage and
failure of the Hitch Mount Vise Plate and/or
vehicle’s hitch receiver, and personal injury
to the person setting up, or using the Hitch
Mount Vise Plate.
C. Keep children and spectators clear when
setting-up and using the Hitch Mount Vise
Plate.
D. Adhere to all Department of
Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements when
using this product.
E. For the vehicle that will support the Hitch
Mount Vise Plate, read all pertinent vehicle
instructions and warnings provided in the
owner’s manual. Make sure the vehicle’s
engine is OFF, with parking brake set, before
setting-up, using, or removing the Hitch
Mount Vise Plate.
F. Maximum weight capacity of the Hitch
Mount Vise Plate with vise attached is
200 Lbs. Do not exceed this maximum
weight capacity.
G. The Hitch Mount Vise Plate must be
attached to a 2” x 2” Class III or Class IV hitch
receiver. The hitch receiver must be properly
installed by a qualified service technician and
be certified to support the weight of this
Hitch Mount Vise Plate and the attached vise
(see paragraph F above).
H. Before using the attached vise at the
work site, make sure vehicle’s engine is
OFF, with parking brake set. Work site
I. When work is done, the vise must be
removed before moving the vehicle.
Either remove the vise from the Hitch Mount
Vise Plate, or pull out included hitch pin and
remove Receiver Tube and Vise Plate from
the vehicle’s hitch receiver (these components,
with vise attached, will be heavy, and may
be a two man job to remove).
J. When not in use, store the vise and the
Hitch Mount Vise Plate in a safe, secure
location. If vise remains attached to the
removed Hitch Mount Vise Plate, both should
be tied down and properly secured.
Keep in mind that the warnings previously
discussed cannot cover all possible
conditions or situations that could occur.
It is important that the person loading/
/unloading and using this product
understand that common sense and
caution are factors which cannot be built
into this product, and must be supplied by
the person(s) using this product.
K. WARNING! Avoid finger/hand injury
When attaching hitch accessory
to the vehicle’s hitch receiver,
NEVER insert finger into hitch
pin holes in an attempt to align
accessory to hitch receiver;
serious injury to fingers/hands
could occur.

Setting Up the Hitch Mount Vise Plate
1. Refer to photos on this page and to the
Assembly Diagram/Parts List on last page
of this manual.
2. Always wear ANSI
approved safety goggles and heavy duty
work gloves when installing, and when
working with tools and equipment.
3. This product is to be mounted to the
vehicle’s hitch receiver as shown in the
photo below. Installation requires lifting and
moving heavy components. If you are not
experienced in doing this type of work, or
not physically capable of doing this work, it is
recommended that this installation be done
4. The shaft of the Vise Mount Plate (12)
slides into the open end of the Receiver Tube
(6) as shown above. Note the multimounting
holes on the shaft - adjust depending on the
desired height of the attached vise.
5. Add a Clamp (8) to each side and secure
the Vise Mount Plate (12) to the Receiver
Tube using Bolt (7), Flat Washer (9), Spring
Washer (10) and Nut (3) - see Assembly
Diagram.
6. The leading edge of Receiver Tube (6)
slides into the vehicle’s hitch receiver and is
secured in place using Hitch Pin (4) with R-
Pin (5). The safety R-Pin (5) must always
be fully engaged to prevent inadvertant
removal of the Hitch Pin (4).

the attachment or the installation of this
product. The attachment of this product is
critical and beyond the control of Flint Hill
Goods. It neither guarantees, nor will it be
liable for any damage resulting from the
attachment or improper use of the Hitch
Mount Vise Plate.

7. Note: Hitch Tightener is to be added to
create a solid, rigid connection between
the the Hitch Mount Vise Plate and the
vehicle’s hitch receiver.
Place the Hitch Tightener - Clamp Plate (1)
under the leading edge of the vehicle’s hitch
receiver. The angled lip of Hitch Tightener
Plate rests against the bottom side of the
Hitch Mount Vise Plate’s Receiver Tube (6).
Slide Hitch Tightener U-Bolt (2) over the
Receiver Tube and secure U-Bolt from the
underside with Flat Washer, Spring Washer
and Nut (9,10,3). See photo below.

9. Mounting the vise: Vise mounting slots
on top of Vise Mount Plate are 2” long and
5/8” wide. Find hardware (bolts, washers,
nuts) - all not included, that is compatible
to the mounting holes on the vise and the
mounting slots on this product.
Maintaining the Hitch Mount Vise Plate
1. Frequently check the condition of the
Hitch Mount Vise Plate. Make sure all
components are in good condition. If the
product becomes damaged through accident,
or if any weld damage is noted, the product
should be replaced.
2. Before each use, check to make sure that
all hardware is tightly secured in place.
3. Keep the Hitch Mount Vise Plate clean.
As previously stated, when not in use, store
the vise and the Hitch Mount Vise Plate
in a safe, secure location. If vise remains
attached to the removed Hitch Mount Vise
Plate, both should be tied down and properly
secured.
