The term “power tool” in these instructions refers to your RECIPROCATING
SAW
1. Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in
the presence of ammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create
sparks, which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. Electrical safety
a) Double insulated tools are equipped with a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other.) This plug will t in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not t, contact a qualied electrician to install a polarized outlet. Do
not change the plug in any way. Double insulation eliminates the need for
the three wires grounded power cord and grounded power supply system.
b) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a
power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
c) Handle the cord carefully. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling
or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp
edges and moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of
electric shock.
d) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected supply. Use of an
RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord
marked “W-A”or “W”. These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce
the risk of electric shock.
f) Do not use the equipment close to ammable objects.
3. Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when
operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired
or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of
inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal
injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat,
or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal
injuries.

c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position
before connecting to power source, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying
power tools with your nger on the switch or energizing power tools that
have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on.
A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result
in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This
enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.
4. Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the power tool correctly for your
application. The correct use will do the job better and safer at the rate for
which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch doesn’t turn it on & off. Any
power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must
be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such
preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool
accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow
persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate
the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Poorly
maintained power tools cause many accidents.
f) Use the power tool, accessories etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work
to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those
intended could result in a hazardous situation.
g) Do not attempt to modify the power tool in any way. The use of any
attachment or accessory other than those included could result in damage to
the power tool and injury to the operator.
h) Service should only be carried out by a qualied professional
technician using original spare parts. Failure to do so may result in
considerable danger to the user.
i) Always observe general re safety precautions when using certain
power tools inside your house or workshop. It is recommended that you
have an appropriate re extinguisher available at all times while working.

5. Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualied repair person using
only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the
power tool is maintained.
b) When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts.
Follow instructions in the maintenance section of this manual. Use of
unauthorized parts or failure to follow maintenance instructions may create
a risk of electric shock or injury.
1) Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation
where the cutting blade may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.
Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and
shock the operator.
2) Use clamps or another practical way to secure and support the work
piece to a stable platform. Holding the work by hand or against your body
is unstable and may lead to a loss of control of the tool
3) Do not cut into existing walls or other blind areas where electrical
wiring may exist. If this situation is unavoidable, disconnect all fuses or
circuit breakers feeding the worksite.
4) Never leave the trigger locked “ON”. Before plugging the tool in, check
that the trigger lock is “OFF”. Accidental start-ups could cause injury.
5) Keep hands away from the cutting blade. Do not reach under the material
being cut. The proximity of the blade to your hand is hidden from your sight.
6) Keep hands from between the gear housing and saw blade holder. The
reciprocating motion of the blade holder can pinch your ngers.
7) Do not use dull or damaged blades. Bent blades can break easily or
cause kickback.
8) Before starting to cut, turn tool “ON” and allow the blade to come to
full speed. Blade can chatter or vibrate if speed is too slow at the beginning
of the cut and possibly cause kickback.
9) Always wear safety goggles or other suitable eye protection when
using this tool. Use a dust mask or respirator for applications which
generate dust.
10) Secure material before cutting it. Never hold it in your hand or across your
legs. Small or thin materials may ex or vibrate with the blade, causing a
loss of control of the tool.
11) Make certain all adjusting screws and the blade holder are tight before
making a cut. Loose adjusting screws and holders can cause the tool or
blade to slip and loss of control may result.
12) Use protective gloves when grasping the blade to remove it from the
blade holder. The blade is sharp and may be hot after prolonged use.

APPLICATION
Some examples of these chemicals are:
lLead from lead-based paints.
lCrystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products.
lArsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of
work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area
and with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially
designed to lter out microscopic particles.
Intended Use
This tool is suitable for making cuts in plastic, wood and metal and is approved
solely for non-professional use. Use the right type of saw blade for the material
being cut. Improper use or modication of the tool is not allowed and poses
a serious risk of injury. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by
improper use of the tool and/or accessories.

Observe correct voltage! The voltage of the power source must comply
with the voltage specied on the name plate of the tool.
Switching On and Off
To start the tool, push the switch locking button (9) and then press the trigger
switch (10) and keep it pressed.
To switch off the tool, release the trigger switch (10)
Note: For safety reasons, the trigger switch (10) cannot be locked in the on
position; it must remain pressed during the entire cutting operation.

Stroke rate selection
The stroke rate can be pre-selected before cutting or adjusted during the cutting
process using the speed adjustment dial (7). The higher the number selected
using the speed adjustment dial, the faster the stroke rate.
Replacing/Inserting the saw blade (Fig. B)
When changing the saw blade (1), ensure that the blade holder (14) is free of
material residue (e.g. wood or metal shavings). To insert or remove a saw blade
(1) from the blade holder, press the blade holder control button (3) toward the
arrow while inserting or removing the blade. Ensure the saw blade is pushed all
the way in when it is inserted into the holder. After inserting the blade, release the
blade holder control button (3). Ensure the blade is securely seated and that it
cannot be pulled out of the holder prior to making a cut.
Adjustment footplate (Fig. C)
Depressed button (13) in the end, adjusts the footplate (2) to properly position with
forth or back, then release button.
Orbital action setting
By means of the adjustable orbital action, the contact of the saw blade against the
workpiece can be adapted to the material to be cut. The orbital action lifts the saw
blade from the workpiece on the downward stroke, which improves chip ejection
and increases the service life of the saw blade.
Orbital action (Fig.D):
Step 0 For cutting thin or hard material such as sheet metal or steel.
Step I, II For cutting soft materials such as softwood or plastic.
Rotary handle adjustment (Fig.E)
For ergonomic purposes, the tool’s handle can be positioned in 4 different
locations. To adjust the handle location, push the handle position adjustment
switch (6), rotate the handle to the desired location, then release the handle
position adjustment switch.
Warning: The tool must be stopped when making handle position adjustments.
Conrm that the handle is securely locked in position prior to making a cut.

Sawing
Do not cut materials containing asbestos.
Adjust saw blade stroke rate and orbital action to the material to be cut. Check
the workpiece for foreign objects such as nails, screws, etc. and remove them
before sawing.
Clamp material well. Do not support the workpiece with your hand or foot. Do not
touch foreign objects or the oor with the saw running (danger of kick-back)!
Switch the machine on and approach the workpiece to be cut.
Put footplate (2) on workpiece surface and saw through it using constant contact
pressure.
If the saw blade seizes, switch machine off immediately. Spread gap (kerf) with a
suitable tool and pull out the saw blade.
When the cut is completed, switch off the machine and then pull the saw blade
out of the cut only after it has come to a standstill (danger of kick-back)
Practical advice
For cutting tight-radius curves, it is best to use a narrow saw blade. When
sawing metal, apply a suitable lubricant along the cutting line for cooling
purposes.
Maintenance
Before cleaning or performing maintenance on the saw, pull the plug from
the power source. Always keep the machine clean and properly maintained
for safety and performance purposes.
For extreme conditions when working with metal, conducting dust can collect
on the interior of the machine. The protective insulation of the machine can be
degraded. In such cases, it is recommended that the ventilation slots be blown
out frequently and that a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) be connected in
series with the machine.
To ensure long-term awless operation of the machine, the saw blade holder
should be cleaned regularly. This can be done by lightly tapping the machine
with the foot plate on a at surface without a saw blade inserted. if necessary,
the saw blade holder should be cleaned by blowing it out with compressed air.
Repairs to the tool should be carried out by an authorized service technician
using original replacement parts.
If the power cord becomes damaged and must be repaired, do not connect
the blue or brown wire of the power cord to the earth terminal of the plug.
Important: If for any reason the plug is cut off of the power cord of this machine.
It must be disposed of safely and not left unattended.

1. Seguridad en el área de trabajo
a) Mantenga el área de trabajo limpia y bien iluminada.
Las áreas oscuras o atestadas de cosas propician accidentes.
b) No utilice herramientas eléctricas en atmósferas explosivas, como ambientes
donde se encuentran líquidos, gases o polvo inamables. Las herramientas
eléctricas originan chispas que pueden encender el polvo o los vapores.
c) Cuando utilice la herramienta mantenga alejados a niños y espectadores. Las
distracciones pueden provocar la pérdida de control.
2. Seguridad eléctrica
a) Las herramientas con aislamiento doble vienen equipadas con un enchufe
polarizado (un terminal es más ancho que el otro). Este enchufe solo entra de
una manera en un tomacorriente polarizado. Si el enchufe no entra por completo en
el tomacorriente, intente ponerlo al revés. Si sigue sin entrar, póngase en contacto

b) Nunca exponga una herramienta eléctrica a la lluvia o a condiciones de
humedad. Si llegara a ltrarse agua dentro de la herramienta eléctrica, aumentará el
riesgo de una descarga eléctrica.
c) No maltrate al cable. Nunca utilice el cable para transportar, tirar o desenchufar
la herramienta eléctrica. Mantenga el cable alejado del calor, aceite, bordes alados
o piezas móviles. Los cables dañados o enredados aumentan el riesgo de una
descarga eléctrica.
d) Si la herramienta eléctrica debe utilizarse inevitablemente en un lugar húmedo,
utilice un suministro eléctrico que esté protegido con un interruptor de circuito de falla
a tierra.
e) El uso de este interruptor reduce el riesgo de descargas eléctricas.
f) Al operar una herramienta eléctrica al aire libre, utilice un alargador eléctrico
para exteriores. Este tipo de cable reduce el riesgo de una descarga eléctrica.
g) No utilice el equipo cerca de objetos inamables.
3. Seguridad personal
a) Esté alerta y concéntrese en lo que está haciendo. Recurra al sentido común
cuando opere una herramienta eléctrica. No la utilice si se encuentra fatigado o bajo
la inuencia de drogas, alcohol o medicamentos. Un momento de distracción puede
ocasionar lesiones graves.
b) Utilice equipos de protección personal. Siempre utilice protección para los ojos.
c) En las condiciones adecuadas, el uso de equipos de protección como máscaras
para polvo, calzado de seguridad antideslizante, cascos o protección auditiva,
reducirá las lesiones personales.
d) Evite el encendido por accidente. Asegúrese de que el interruptor esté en la posición

Transportar herramientas eléctricas con el dedo apoyado sobre el interruptor o enchufarlas con el
interruptor en la posición de encendido puede propiciar accidentes.
e) Retire toda llave de ajuste antes de encender la herramienta. Dejar una llave en una pieza giratoria
puede ocasionar lesiones personales.
f) No se estire. Conserve siempre el equilibrio y en todo momento manténgase parado de forma correcta.
Esto permite un mejor control de la herramienta eléctrica en situaciones inesperadas.
g) Vístase de manera adecuada. No utilice ropas o artículos de joyería sueltos. Mantenga su cabello,
ropas y guantes alejados de las piezas móviles. Las prendas de vestir sueltas, los artículos de joyería y el
cabello largo pueden quedar atrapados en piezas móviles.
4. Uso y mantenimiento de la herramienta eléctrica
a) No fuerce la herramienta eléctrica. Utilícela de forma correcta para el trabajo que realizará. El uso
correcto hará mejor el trabajo y de forma más segura, a la velocidad para la que fue diseñada.
b) No utilice la herramienta eléctrica si el interruptor no puede encenderla y apagarla. Toda
herramienta eléctrica que no puede ser controlada mediante el interruptor es peligrosa y debe ser
reparada.
c) Desconecte el enchufe de la fuente de energía antes de realizar ajustes, cambiar accesorios
o almacenar herramientas eléctricas. Estas medidas de seguridad preventivas reducen el riesgo de
encender la herramienta eléctrica en forma accidental.
d) Guarde las herramientas eléctricas que no estén en uso fuera del alcance de los niños y
no permita que personas no familiarizadas con ella o con estas instrucciones la pongan en
funcionamiento. Las herramientas eléctricas son peligrosas en las manos de usuarios no calicados.
e) Realice un mantenimiento de las herramientas eléctricas. Controle que no haya piezas móviles
mal alineadas o trabadas, piezas rotas o cualquier otra situación que pueda afectar el funcionamiento
de las herramientas eléctricas. Si la herramienta eléctrica se avería, hágala reparar antes de volver a
utilizarla. Se producen muchos accidentes a causa de un mantenimiento inadecuado de las herramientas
eléctricas.
f) Utilice la herramienta eléctrica, sus accesorios, etc. de acuerdo con estas instrucciones y teniendo en
cuenta las condiciones de trabajo y la tarea a realizar. El uso de la herramienta eléctrica para operaciones
diferentes de aquellas para las que fue diseñada podría originar una situación de peligro.
g) No intente modicar la herramienta eléctrica de ninguna manera. El uso de un accesorio que no
venga incluido puede causar daños a la herramienta eléctrica y lesiones al operador.
h) La reparación debe efectuarla únicamente personal calicado y utilizarse solo repuestos
originales. No hacerlo puede causar serias lesiones al usuario.
i) Respete siempre las precauciones generales de seguridad contra incendios al utilizar ciertas
herramientas eléctricas dentro de su casa o taller. Mientras se realiza el trabajo, se recomienda que
haya en todo momento un extintor de incendios apropiado.
5. Reparación
a) La reparación de la herramienta eléctrica debe realizarla un técnico calicado y utilizar únicamente
piezas de repuesto idénticas. Esto garantizará que se conserve la seguridad de la herramienta
eléctrica.
b) Cuando se repara una herramienta deben utilizarse únicamente repuestos idénticos. Siga las
instrucciones de la sección de Mantenimiento de este manual. El uso de piezas no autorizadas o el
incumplimiento de las instrucciones de mantenimiento pueden provocar una descarga eléctrica
o lesiones.

NORMAS ESPECÍFICAS DE SEGURIDAD
1) Sujete la herramienta por las supercies aislantes cuando realice una operación
en que la hoja pueda hacer contacto con cables ocultos o su propio cable. El
contacto con un cable con corriente hará que las partes metálicas de la herramienta
queden electricadas y provoquen una descarga al operador.
2) Utilice abrazaderas u otro método práctico para apoyar y sujetar con rmeza
el material en una plataforma estable. Nunca lo sujete con sus manos ni contra su
cuerpo, esto es inestable y puede provocar la pérdida de control de la herramienta.
3) No corte en paredes u otras áreas ciegas donde pueda haber cables de
electricidad. Si esta situación es inevitable, desconecte todos los fusibles o
cortacircuitos que alimentan el lugar de trabajo.
4) Nunca deje el interruptor en la posición “ON” (ENCENDIDO). Antes de enchufar la
herramienta, asegúrese de que el interruptor se encuentre en “OFF” (APAGADO). Un
arranque accidental podría causar lesiones.
5) Mantenga las manos alejadas de la hoja de corte. No extienda su mano debajo del
material que está cortando. Esto no le permite observar la proximidad de la hoja con su
mano.
6) Mantenga las manos alejadas del espacio que se encuentra entre la carcasa de la
herramienta y el porta-hojas. El movimiento recíproco del porta-hojas puede pellizcarle
los dedos.
7) No use hojas desaladas o dañadas. Una hoja torcida puede romperse fácilmente
o causar un contragolpe.
8) Antes de comenzar a cortar, ponga la herramienta en “ON” (ENCENDIDA) y
permita que la hoja llegue a su velocidad máxima. La hoja puede rechinar o vibrar si
al comenzar el corte la velocidad es demasiado lenta, y posiblemente puede causar un
contragolpe.
9) Siempre use gafas de seguridad o cualquier otra protección adecuada para los
ojos cuando use esta herramienta. Use una mascarilla o respirador contra polvos para
aquellas aplicaciones que generen polvo.
10) Fije el material antes de cortarlo. Nunca lo sostenga con su mano ni sobre sus
piernas. Los materiales pequeños o delgados pueden doblarse o vibrar con la hoja,
y causar la pérdida de control de la herramienta.
11) Asegúrese de que todos los tornillos de ajuste y el porta-hojas estén ajustados
antes de hacer un corte. Si están ojos pueden causar que la herramienta o la hoja
resbalen y provocar la pérdida del control.
12) Cuando agarre la hoja para retirarla del porta-hojas utilice guantes protectores.
La hoja es losa y puede estar caliente después de un uso prolongado.

Su riesgo de estar expuesto a estos productos varía dependiendo de la frecuencia con la
que realice este tipo de trabajo. Para reducir la exposición a estas sustancias químicas,
trabaje en un área bien ventilada y con el equipo de seguridad aprobado, como por ejemplo
las mascarillas contra polvo especícamente diseñadas para ltrar partículas microscópicas.
Usos
Esta herramienta es ideal para hacer cortes en plástico, madera y metal, y está
aprobada únicamente para uso no profesional. Utilice el tipo de hoja adecuado para el
material que se va a cortar. El uso incorrecto o modicación de la herramienta no está
permitido e implica un serio riesgo de lesión. El fabricante no se hace responsable por
los daños causados por el uso indebido de la herramienta y/o sus accesorios.

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO
Selección de la velocidad de carrera
La velocidad de carrera puede preseleccionarse antes de cortar o ajustarse
durante el proceso de corte mediante el disco de ajuste de velocidad (7). Cuanto
mayor sea el número seleccionado con el disco, más rápida será la velocidad de
carrera.
Sustitución/Inserción de la hoja (Fig. B)
Al cambiar la hoja (1), asegúrese de que el porta-hojas (14) esté libre de residuos
de materiales (por ejemplo: virutas de madera o metal). Para insertar o retirar una
hoja (1) del porta-hojas, presione el botón de control del porta-hojas (3) hacia la
echa. Asegúrese de que la hoja sea empujada hasta el fondo cuando se inserta
en el porta-hojas. Después de insertar la hoja, suelte el botón de control del porta-
hojas (3). Asegúrese de que la hoja quede bien asentada y que no pueda salirse
del porta-hojas antes de hacer un corte.
Ajuste de la plataforma (Fig. C)
El botón hundido (13) al nal ajusta la plataforma (2) para posicionar
adecuadamente hacia adelante o hacia atrás, luego suelte el botón.
Conguración de la acción orbital
Por medio de la acción orbital ajustable, el contacto de la hoja con la pieza de
trabajo puede adaptarse al material a cortar. La acción orbital levanta la hoja de la
pieza de trabajo en la carrera descendente, lo cual mejora la expulsión de viruta y
aumenta la vida útil de la hoja.
Acción orbital (Fig.D):
Paso 0 Para el corte de materiales delgados o duros tales como láminas de metal
o acero.
Paso I, II Para el corte de materiales blandos como madera tierna o plástico.
Ajuste del mango giratorio (Fig.E)
Por razones de ergonomía, el mango de la herramienta puede colocarse en 4
posiciones diferentes. Para ajustar la posición del mango, presione el interruptor
de ajuste de la posición del mango (6), gire el mango a la posición deseada y
luego suelte el interruptor de ajuste de la posición del mango.
Advertencia: Para realizar los ajustes de posición del mango la herramienta debe
estar detenida. Compruebe que el mango esté bien trabado en su posición antes
de hacer un corte.
