Fredenstein Bento 2 Pure Analog Module Carrier
The Fredenstein Bento 2 is a high performance two slot module carrier for Fredenstein Series 600
modules or API-500 compati le plug-in cards. The unit can accept a maximum of 2 modules.
The Bento 2 Pure Analog comes in two version, 120V (mainly North America and Taiwan) and
240V (other international countries) 50 to 60 Hz.
The maximum output currents are: +-16V DC 0.75A and +48V DC 250mA.
LEDs indicate the power-supply status on the front-panel.
The Bento 2 Pure Analog features an additional DC output connector to support an Bento 2
Extension.
Built-in Audio Routing: Slot 1 can e daisy-chained to slot 2 y simply flipping a switch on the
ack-panel.
Compressor uss linking: Compressor modules can e linked y engaging a switch on the ack-
panel as well (works only with two identical compressor modules supporting the link function).
Installation:
Electrical Safety Warnings:
Do not open t e enclosure, azardous voltages are present inside!
T ere are no user serviceable parts inside.
Always disconnect t e mains cord before installing or removing modules!
If you need to replace t e mains fuse, make sure t e replacement as t e same
rating (1 AT 250V).
Please disconnect the mains from your Bento 2 efore installing or removing modules. Make sure
each installed module is well seated in the receiving connector and the module is secured y fasten
the two mounting screws.

Operation:
After installation of the modules connect the mains cord to the Bento 2 IEC socket located on the
ack-panel and than connect the mains ca le to a grounded outlet. Now turn the Bento 2 on y
operating the I/O switch (also part of the IEC socket on the ack), then turn the secondary power-
switch on the front-panel on and the three LEDs next to it will come on within 5 seconds and the
Bento 2 is ready for use. To connect the audio signals, please use the XLR connectors on the rear
panel.
In case you want, for example, route the audio signal from a mic-pre in slot 1 to a EQ in slot 2
simply turn on the audio link switch located on the ack-panel. (Please e aware that this disa les
the slot 2 XLR input connectors). Slot 1 input will e the microphone input and the slot 2 output
will e the audio output of the complete chain.
In case you are using multiple compressors which make use of the compressor link uss (Pin 6),
you can link the two slots y putting the uss switch in the I position. If you are using different
types of compressors, you must keep the comp uss switch off.
