• Tr a n s m i t no m or e than 50% of t he t im e . To r eceive calls, r elease t he PTT but t on.
To t ransm it ( t al k) , press the Push t o Ta l k ( PTT) button. Tr ansm it t in g 50% of t h e t im e, or less, is i m port ant because t he radio
generat es m easurable RF energy exposure only when t ran sm it t ing (in term s of m easuring st andards com plian ce) .
Alway s hold t he radi o appr ox im at el y 5cm in fr ont of your m out h w it h t he ant enna pointing aw ay from your head.

CTCSS/ DCS

CTCSS = Coded t one cont r olled squelching syst em . This all ow s you t o t alk on a pri vat e sub chan nel on an act ive channel.
DCS is a digit al ext ension of CTCSS.
DCS= DCS is a digital ext ension of CTCSS.I t provides ext ra,digitally coded,squelch codes that follow after the 38 CTCSS codes.
CTCSS 1 t o 38 , followed by DCS 39- 99.
VOX
