if the front-passenger airbag is enabled
If the front-passenger front airbag is enabled,
achild on the front-passenger seat may be
struck by the front-passenger airbag during
an accident.
NEVER use a rearward-facing child restraint
system on a seat with an ENABLED FRONT
AIRBAG, DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY to the
CHILD can occur.

The pollutant emission of thevehicle is
directlyrelated to thevehicle's operation.
Operateyour vehicle in an environmentally
responsible manner to help protect theenvi‐
ronment. Please observe thefollowing recom‐
mendations on operating conditions and per‐
sonaldriving style.
Operating conditions:
#Makesurethat thetirepressures are
alwayscorrect.
#Do nottransportany unnecessary
weight (e.g. aroof rack whichisnolon‐
gerrequired).
#Observe theservice intervals.
Aregularly serviced vehicle will contrib‐
utetoenvironmentalprotection.
#Alwayshave maintenance work carried
out at aqualified specialistworkshop.
Personal driving style:
#Do notdepress theacceleratorpedal
when startingthe engine.
#Do notwarmupthe engine while sta‐
tionary.
#Drivecarefully and maintainasufficient
distance to other vehicles.
#Avoid frequent, sudden acceleration and
braking.
#Shiftgearsingood timeand use each
gear onlyuptoÔof its maximum
engine speed.
#Switchoff theengine when in stationary

research,weare unable to assessother parts.
We thereforeacceptnoresponsibility forthe use
of suchparts in Freightliner Sprinter vehicles,
eveniftheyhavebeen officially approvedorinde‐
pendentlyapproved by atesting center.
In some other countries, certain parts areonly
officially approvedfor installation or modification
if they comply with legal requirements. All
Freightliner Sprinter Genuine Partssatisfy these
requirements. Makesurethat all parts aresuita‐
ble foryour vehicle.

Notesabout attachments, add-on equip‐
ment, installations and conversions
Forsafetyreasons, have add-on equipmentpro‐
ducedand installed in accordancewiththe valid
Freightliner Sprinter body/equipment mounting
directives. These body/equipment mounting
directives ensurethat thechassisand add-on
equipmentformone unit and that thegreatest
possible levelofoperational and driving safetyis
achieved.
Both vehicle manufacturersand body manufac‐
turersmustalwaysensurethat theproducts they
manufacturecome intocirculation onlyinasafe
stateand do notpose anyriskstopeople. Other‐
wise, theremay be consequences under civil,
criminal or public law. All manufacturersare
responsible forthe products that they have man‐
ufactured. Manufacturersofattachments, add-on
equipment, installationsand conversions must
guarantee compliancewithDirective
2001/95/ECongeneral product safety.
Freightliner Sprinter recommends thefollowing
procedurefor safetyreasons:
RDo notmakeany other changes to thevehi‐
cle.
RObtain approval from thedealer named on
theinside title pageinthe event of deviations
from theapprovedbody/equipment mounting
directives.
Acceptance testsperformed by public test bodies
or officialapprovals do notrule out safetyrisks.

Conversions or changes to thevehicle can
impair thefunction of systems or compo‐
nents.
As aresult, they maynolonger function as
intended and/or endanger theoperating
safetyofthe vehicle.
#Alwayshave conversions or changes to
thevehicle made at aqualified work‐
shop.
If youintend to makechanges to your vehicle,
Freightliner Sprinter urgentlyrecommends con‐
tacting thedealer,who will giveyou all theinfor‐
mation youneed. Theremay be achargefor this
service.
If body manufacturersand dealersmakemodifi‐
cations that affect thefinalinspection of the
engine, vehicle or equipment, they mustaccept
sole responsibility forthe vehicle. This also
appliestomarking and documenting thevehicle
parts affected by thechanges that they make.
Youare responsible forcertifying and providing
evidencethat thefollowing conditionsare met:
RThe vehicle complies withall relevant stand‐
ards and regulations that areaffected by the
modification.
RThe modified vehicle still meets thevehicle
safetystandards and emission regulations.
RThe modification does notimpair thesafetyof
thevehicle.
Freightliner is notresponsiblefor thefinalinspec‐
tion, product liability or warrantyclaimsresulting
from modification. This applies forthe following
points:
Rthemodified components or systems
Rtheresultant violationofemission regulations
or vehicle safetystandards
Rall consequences resulting from themodified,
less safeorevenfaulty vehicle
Freightliner accepts no responsibility as final
manufacturer or forthe resultant product liability.
Even seemingly minor changes to thevehicle,
suchasattaching aradiator grill in winter,are not
